j/c...or too lazy to go back to Diam.

Just one question on the Bummerizing - How is Mosely a Bum?

What do you know about him. We are talking about 3-4 DE and a kid who's been in the NFL just 4 years - and last 3 under Mangini. Its the kind of position that UNKNOWNs have come along - worked hard and made a name for themselves. He does have 5 starts in the last 2 years. Who knows how well he'll develop.

Could he end up a Bum...possibly but I just don't think its defined yet.

Of course Diam you didn't include him in your itemized list where you went over the Bum List - just in your real bum list.

Pork Chop is another question mark...cause he has spent only one season in his controlled weight parameters. And seems to have matured towards that concept...It was his best season in his career. Will he progress and apply himself even more...remember he never took care of his body...its not a one off season ordeal. Who knows, what if he becomes a fanatic about his body.

You know who this reminds me of...somebody else who didn't take care of his body then became a fanatic. Ryan Tucker.

We'll see but he could have "SHED" his Bum identity along with those pounds

Mosley could play his way out of BUMVILLE ... we do not know howhe will develop .... but for now hes a definite resident .... cause he has done SQUADOOSH UP TILL THIS POINT!

Pork Chop has an 8 year history .. 7 of them bad ... then is a contract year he decides to shed some wieght ... and then he STILL IS A BACK UP ... his wieght loss allowed him to pplay the entire year .. it did not allow him to play much better .... MOLLASES ....

anyone can play there way out of BUMVILLE ..... but in PC's case . he has a long ass way to go ... sorry bro ... I'll take the 7 previous years over the 8th one where he was STILL A BACK UP ...

but .. I'd LOVE TO EAT CROW on both these guys and for that matter the rest of BUMVILLE ....

and we may as well get started now .. ELAM LIVES IN BETWEEN MOSLEY AND PORK CHOP IN BUMVILLE ... ....

DeMarcus Faggins-DB- Texans Mar. 20 - 10:38 am et

Free agent CB DeMarcus Faggins will visit the Browns on Friday.
Interest in Faggins is heating up. He may only be getting slightly above minimum contract offers, but has made three visits in the last three days.

Well, if you call Poteat and Ivy DB's.......I guess that is the thinking of Mangini...bring in all of these vets and cast offs and let them battle it out for a job.....just as long as these guys don't turn out to be starters, I think it is a good idea, but being that we keep signing them makes me wonder a lil.....

well i like the idea of picking the best of the worst. i also think it indicates that we will not be drafting a CB high in the draft (no jenkins unless he's playing safety) as these moves seem to be rounding out the back end of our depth, maybe because they're comfortable with wright and mcdonald.

You like picking the best of the worst? Personally, if the player can't produce, leave him alone and give the spot to a UDFA. They're cheaper, and have potential, whereas old bums that are unproductive are total wastes of cap room.

it's better than just signing ralph brown or terry cousins.

just because we found bodden doesn't mean there are tons of UDFA who can actually get the job done. i understand a vet in a dime spot. we don't even know if any of these players are making the team.

Yeah, I totally agree with letting these vets battle for a dime spot....and being on the roster in case of an injury, just as long as that is what we are doing....I'm not to keen on going into the season with Ivy, Poteat, etc..etc...as our nickel back...but, I guess it could be worse.....

Ivy will be the nickel back. Watched alot of him.....big hitter who flys around laying the wood. VERY average at coverage but gives it 110%.

He is WAY above Poteat on every level... (which dosent take much) Upgrade to Holly imo.....

Ivy and Royal are the best two signing of the FA period!!!!!

I'm not familiar enough with Ivy to have much of a opinion.....but, having Wright, McDonald and Ivy as our starting DB's sounds a lil weak...but I guess if you can put a decent pass rush together, that will help them alot.....we still need to fill the saftey void somehow too...anyone heard anything concerning that...???

Browns to Visit with OL
by Adam Caplan of ScoutNFLNetwork.com, March 11, 2009 at 1:51pm ET

Free agent OL Adam Goldberg is visiting the Cleveland Browns on Wednesday, Scout.com has confirmed. It's believed Goldberg was the only NFL player to start four different positions (RT, LT, RG, LG) last season.

The versatile lineman was originally signed out of the University of Wyoming as an undrafted free agent in 2003 by the Minnesota Vikings.

Goldberg has played the past three seasons with the St. Louis Rams and they remain interested in re-signing him.

Ok, I mainly just wanted to see it on paper, but if I miss somebody, feel free to correct me....I just wanted to post the signings we have made, and the players we have lost......

Signings
Corey Ivy - DB *possible starter as nickel*
Hank Poteat - DB
Fred "Pork chop" Womack - OL *possible starter*
John St. Clair - OL *possible starter*
David Bowens - LB
Eric Barton - LB *possible starter*
Noah Herron - RB
Robert Royal - TE *possible starter*
CJ Mosely - DL

Losses
Sean Jones - DB
Kevin Shaffer - OL
Joe Jurivicious - WR
Andra Davis - LB
Willie McGinest - LB
Kellen Winslow - TE

Well, this isn't exactely a star studded list, but I do think they have done a great job in providing the roster with depth.....I'm assuming that about half will end up starting ...I can't wait until the draft............

If those possibles do start, hopefully they perform better than the last crew. That's my bottom line.

Good point,...but I still believe what we had was more undercoached than it was undertalented.

I agree.....I think that the talent was bad, but good coaching can help eliminate some of that.....and it was even worse...IMO....

Thanks for compiling this Roscoe...one minor, minor error - Floyd Womack

Does anyone know what happened with Davin Holly? I know he was supposed to be a FA this year - I haven't seen anything either way, but I looked at the roster this weekend and he's listed as on the Browns...

One last thing...looking at the list, I'm guessing we're eligible for a compensatory pick next year, anyone know the specific rules?

I read a little blurb a couple weeks ago that Holly was visiting someone, but never read about him actually signing.

If my memory serves me well, I THINK it was Tamp Bay.
