What are you talking about? I hope he goes to one of the three teams and tears them to pieces.
TO is the most overrated WR in NFL history.

TO's Stats
He drops too many balls and his teams have generally come up just short.
He's just not what I look for in a WR.

Dude...are you nuts?
He's probably the most physically gifted WR in the history of the NFL. Hall of Fame LOCK.
951 receptions, 14,122 yards, 139 TD's.
Overrated...

And Michael Vick was one of the most gifted players to play in the NFL.
Doesn't mean I would ever want him on my team.

Not wanting him =/= overrated.
#2 all time in TD receptions. #5 all time in receiving yardage. And still active...well, as soon as someone picks him up, which will happen.
A PITA for whatever team he plays for? Certainly. Overrated? Not even close.

Perhaps. Stats are certainly stacked against me.
I still think he is overrated. I think he got extremely lucky all through his career as far as what QB's he played for.

Not wanting someone on your team and someone being overrated are two completely different things.
I know it irks some people...but T.O. is one of the best WR's to ever play the game.

I agree. besides Jerry Rice, I'd put him with Marvin Harrison as the best receivers the last 15 years. That spells HOF.

I put T.O. as the second best all-time behind Rice.
If he wasn't a headcase, I can only imagine that he'd have been the best ever.

i wouldn't. TO is there and he performed regardless of whether or not he's happy. moss only performed when happy and motivated. he is EXTREMELY gifted but TO is a workhorse who, while some don't like him, gave it his all. overrated is one thing TO isn't.

Wow, that was unexpected.
Good receiver, but he's a headcase. That's his only downfall.

Yeah but every team T.O has been on hes had controversy and drama. He may be considered one of the best, but he acts like a ticked off teenager. IMO

Browns receivers Owens is better than.
Stalworth, Northcutt former, A Davis former, Quincy Morgan former, Steptoe, Hubbard, Jurevicious, ok ok the list is too long
Browns receivers that Owens is NOT better than.
Braylon Edwards, Kevin Johnson, former, Michael Jackson former, Keenan Mccardell former, debatable ones Derrick Alexander, Andre Rison, Slaughter, Langhorne, and Brennan.
? Why if so, did the Cowboys wait for TJ Houshmanzadeh to be signed before he was released?
Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

I would take a Brian Brennen over a TO anyday.
TO may have the flashy points a WR needs to make a big name for himself, but a Brennen has all the talents a WR needs to make a football player and a great person out of himself. Brennen everytime.
TO is like wanting that stripper at the club, she'd be alot of fun at first and it would be great watching her, and telling your friends she's yours, but after awhile ya just know it's gonna cost ya big time.

I wonder who might have a WR better than Owens, they are willing to part ways with?
I doubt that the Cowboys would release Owens before having secured a replacement?
The Cowboys could be thinking about drafting a replacement, but that just does not seem to be their style.

Geeze, sound like your talking from experience Clay
As for Owens release, I'm actually not surprised and was just telling a co-worker on tuesday, how I wondered when a trade was gonna happen. You have to assume they tried to trade him with somebody before an outright release, even if nobody offered a first, but they got NOTHIIN?!?!?

Let me first start off by saying "HELL NO" to signing him.....while he may be a potential hall of famer.....he flat out ruins locker rooms...and we already have enough of that going on here. As long as he has been in the league, I can only remember one Superbowl that he has played in, and that was with Philly....and they had been contenders for years before he came along....He may have great numbers, but he will NOT get you anywhere....if you don't get him his catches and TD's you may as well just forget it....so you spend all of your time game planning to get him his stats, so he will keep his big fat mouth shut, that you forget about the rest of your team....and then comes the loses....then comes the finger pointing....then comes the drama.....then people start losing their jobs......NO THANKS........ .... .....

roscoe...I agree, we don't need any malcontents in the locker room.
My point was, "who" has a WR of Owens talent they may be willing to part ways with?

What about Dante Lavelli, Gary Collins, Paul Warfield, and Webster Slaughter? I seriously have to disagree with Kevin Johnson and Michael Jackson. Michael Jackson was Quincy Morgan with only a few more catches.
TO has a load of talent, but he drops too many passes for the talent he has. I'd take any of the following (some are Hall of Famers) over TO: Raymond Berry, Paul Warfield, Steve Largent, Fred Belintnikoff, Marvin Harrison, Sterling Sharpe, Art Monk, Andre Reed, TJ Houshmandzedah. The more I think about it, he's definitely not worth the trouble that he brings.
As was said before, talent does not necessarily mean good for the team.

Hmmmm
Can't think of his name right now though.
Oh wait - Braylon Edwards comes to mind.

I know we have a new regime here but the Boys and Browns tend to call each other a lot on draft day. With a hole in their WR corps, do you think the Boys will call us for the possibility of acquiring BE or our 5th overall pick (for Crabtree - who has Texas roots)?
I'm not shocked they cut T.O., I called it about a month ago (not on this board unfortunately). I just didn't think they'd wait until after all the free agents were gone. Housh would have been a nice signing to replace him.

I think Crabtree could very well be on their radar. I think it does present the possibility of them trying to trade up on draft day. It would be nice to be sitting there at 5 w/ Crabtree available and have the phone ring. Hopefully the Browns send out a few smoke signals about interest in him and several others to keep the league guessing. That being said, there's no guarantee the Browns won't draft Crabtree themselves if he's there at 5 - maybe even pull a draft and trade.

We have to remember, though, that Dallas doesn't have a 1st round pick this year (went to Detroit for Roy Williams). So, they'd have to give up a LOT in order to get our no. 5 slot.
I am unfamiliar with this feeling of optimism
