It's my understanding that Garcia is trying to set a record for most teams played for.

Did you catch the part where he has been with 4 teams in the last 5 years?

Yeah...Cleveland runs out star players all the time.

Nobody wants to play here? Puhleeze...give up that crap.

DT Tank Johnson agrees to contract with Bengals
Published - Apr 07 2009 08:34PM EST

Tank Johnson, a player with legal troubles in his background, is joining the Cincinnati Bengals, a team that frequently has dealt with such issues.

The defensive tackle agreed to a contract with the Bengals on Tuesday. His agent, Jerrold Colton, says the Bengals' defensive scheme is a better fit for Johnson than his previous team, the Dallas Cowboys.

The 27-year-old free agent had 33 tackles and three sacks in two seasons with the Cowboys, who signed him even while Johnson was still serving an eight-game NFL suspension in 2007 for violating the league's conduct policy.

Johnson was released by the Bears in June 2007, days after he was pulled over by police in Gilbert, Ariz., for speeding. There were never any charges in the Arizona case, but Johnson had already served a two-month jail term for violating probation from an earlier gun charge when he had unregistered firearms in his home.

While with the Bears, he helped them win the 2006 NFC title before they lost to Indianapolis in the Super Bowl.

Johnson had no off-field problems with Dallas.

The Bengals have a history of giving second chances _ and third and fourth chances _ to players who get into trouble. Linebacker Odell Thurman and receiver Chris Henry were the most high-profile examples, piling up the arrests and suspensions.

In all, the Bengals had a run of 10 player arrests in a 14-month span.

Well, maybe he's cleaned up his act.. one can only hope.. but you know,, why do the Bengals go for guys like this?

Wow.. I know the guy has talent and all, but at some point, teams have to say,, look, if you are going to be a distraction of any sort, we don't want you.. I'm pretty convinced that that is the only way to change the "Thug" culture that some players display...

Ahh, who am I kidding,, if a guy can play, someone will always sign them....

Nice... In accurate as usual. JG has played very well everywhere is has been... But Cleveland. We all know why. Well not evidentally not everyone.

How many players have gone to the T-raiders and extended and or turned the careers around, good to great, Pro-Bowlers and HOFers? Don't bother answering, you don't know.

Actually he didn't play well in Detroit either. His problem here was the system that he was in.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Seth McKinney has signed with the Buffalo Bills, who continued to retool their offensive line in free agency this off-season.

A seven-year NFL veteran who has played both guard and centre, McKinney joined the Bills on Thursday after spending the past two seasons in Cleveland. He had three starts in 16 appearances last season and started eight games for the Browns in 2007.

Miami's third-round pick out of Texas A&M in 2002, he had 45 starts in 85 games with the Dolphins, and spent the entire 2006 season on injured reserve.

Not a Free Agent but this guy is available and would be a good pick up.

Roscoe Parrish, a Buffalo Bills second-round pick whose specialty of working out of the slot in three-receiver sets, may be slotted to a new job.

Bills WR Roscoe Parrish takes a punt back 63 yards for a touchdown in Buffalo's win.

According to a source, Parrish is being shopped by the Bills in trade discussions. It is not known what the asking price is, but Parrish is available because of the team's abundance of wide receivers.

Lee Evans is the team's No. 1 receiver and Terrell Owens will be the starter on the other side. The Bills also have Josh Reed, who plays his best when he works out of the slot. They are also developing James Hardy at split end.

The Bills selected Parrish in the second round of the 2005 draft. He has six starts in four seasons, catching 97 passes for 1,052 yards and five touchdowns.

Senior writer John Clayton covers the NFL for ESPN.com.

If we can get him for a late rnd pick i think he could help us out alot, he can play the slot and he's also a pretty good punt returner.

Because of the lack of picks that Savage has left the Browns, I wouldnt want to use an 09 pick. Maybe a pick in next years draft. Preferably a 6th. im not upset of the picks Savage gave up to get Rogers and Williams. It was the picks he gave up to move up in the draft to select players that had no impact at all. Especially Hubbard. He was a track star who was often injured playing football and I dont think was on too many teams radar.

I think Rucker and Bell will deliver this year. I would like to know what Mangini and Kokinis know about these players and where they had them on their own draft board, but that wont happen with this tight lip regime. But when it came to scouting them last year, they had to know something about them.

I do think Parish would be an upgrade to the roster over Steptoe, Hubbard, and Patton. But with the lack of this years picks, I dont see the new regime giving up a pick this year for him. Maybe a late conditional pick next year based on performance. Better then Savage giving Miami a pick for a CB that I never saw play and probabley would have been cut anyways..

You are going to start hearing how Mangini and Kokinis are doing a masterful job of handling the salary ccap, and they are.But what they're not doing is bringing in Grade A talent. That's something this team needs.
Any combination of Fraley/Tucker/Porkchop/St.Clair is going to be godawful bad. But,on the other hand it will be inexpensive.

Thats what Savage did in his first year and I think its smart. Like when he signed players he thought was a position of need and signed Russel, Stewert and Fisk as stop gap players. Fisk and Stewert didnt bring much to the table and were cut after a year without much cap implications. Russel played his way to fulfill his short contract. Thats the same thing the new guys are doing. Find the position of need; sign a few stop gap players for cheap; the ones that play good stay; the ones that dont produce are gone; the new coach sees what he has and can then go for the big priced FAs next year. I dont think you take over a new team and bring in high priced vets. Unless you absalutely know what they can do, like Bart Scott going to the Jets.

What the team desperately needs, is for that grade A talent to come thru the draft.

As for the Bengals getting tank Johnson, unbelievable. Goodell said that hes going to penalize teams money and possibley draft picks for drafting and signing players who continue to make the league look bad for their behavior. The league already suspended Henry, who the benglas resigned, Johnson and suspended Frostee Rucker for his previose actions against assualting women- who the Bengals drafted after turning away from his background check. If Johnson and Henry get arrested one more time, Goodell better fine penny pincher Mike brown and take away a mid round pick. That will teach the penny pincher to sign unwanted trouble makers for cheap. Mike Brown loves his players in stripes

I'd love to get my man Lee here too, but they just gave him a fat extension last year so their cap hit would be enormous. Plus, they only have TO for 1 year (which was brilliant) so there's no way he's going anywhere. He's their FotF.

Oh, I agree. There is no way Lee Evans is leaving Buffalo. But I can dream, right? The guy is just a plain stud WR. How about we trade BE to Buffalo for Evans and trade the rights to Stallworth to Houston for Andre Johnson?

Bills and Browns Talking Trade For Roscoe Parrish
April 9th, 2009 ·
http://www.profootballcentral.com/

The Buffalo Bills have had discussions with the Cleveland Browns about trading for Buffalo wideout Roscoe Parrish according to league sources.

Talks have not began to become serious but it is reported that the Bills are asking for a fourth rounder in this years draft for the speedy wideout.

Parrish had 24 catches for 232 yards and one touchdown last season. He also had 21 punt returns for 322 yards and one touchdown. The Browns do have a fourth round draft pick (104 overall).

IF we do trade Edwards IMO we should gain a 1st Rd. pick....We would have 2 and need to than add a # 1 WR and add depth....So , IF the price is right Parrish wouldn't hurt us....IF we take Crabtree # 5 , move down and select a WR or we add one of the available WRs such as Harrison or Holt....We should be fine....

If the Browns and Bills are talking trade for Parish for a 4th, I dont believe the trade will happen until the last minute. The Browns will select their 1st few picks, we will see what happens with Braylon, and then the Browns will see who is available at the 4th pick. If they value Parish more then a o-lineman, LB, RB, WR, or secondary that is available, then the trade could happen. I would think that Mangini and Kokinis would keep the pick then go after Holt. For those who say "Why would the Browns go after someone whose been in the league for 18 years" like some have said about Pace who Chicago signed for a 3 year deal, then why would they sign patten who didnt even play last year and has been in the league forever.

If the Browns trade Braylon, I see this trade as a good possibility. Pickup a rookie who fits the system, trade for Parrish, then sign a vet like Harrison or Holt for less then what Edwards is making. But would Harrison sign for less then Edwards after not taking a paycut to play with Manning in a system he is familiar with?

I would prefer to keep Edwards since he is really the only production from last years team in reception yards. But i just dont see him re-signing with the Browns when his contract is up. Its better to get something out of him. If he has a season like 07-08 and the Browns franchise him, I see him throwing a big hissy fit and threatning to sit out a year. I think he hates it here that much. he has been crying about playing in the state of Ohio and being from Meechigan since year one. I think he would take less money, not too much less, to play for another team.

I wonder how the new tight lipped regime feels about other teams spilling the news about potential trades. I think it might make the Browns want a better deal if the other teams are letting the discussions make it to the media, or it might make them cut off talks. That would show teams to keep quite when they are dealing with the Browns. That could also hurt the Browns if they are turning teams off. But alot of teams go thru regimes without dealing with other teams. Savage was the first since the browns came back to have a working relationship with Dallas and Jerry Jones. Like Butch Davis having a working relationship with Minnesota. I remember he got the Vikings to fork over draft picks for Spergon Wynn, Madre Hill, and a d-lineman.

Steelers | Could trade for R. Parrish
Mon, 20 Apr 2009 06:34:30 -0700

Matt Pawlikowski, of the Pittsburgh Sports Examiner, reports the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to a league source, have been in trade talks with the Buffalo Bills about WR Roscoe Parrish.

Figured I could put this here. Not that I want him for the price we would have to pay. Or that i would want to waste a drfat pick in a deep draft but thought it was intertesting.

Dolphins Interested In Trading Brown?
Our very own Michael Lombardi is hearing that “for the right price” the Miami Dolphins would be “interested in discussing a trade for starting running back Ronnie Brown.

Brown only rushed for over 100 yards in three games last season and had less than 50 yards rushing in 9 of 16 appearances in 2008.

We’ll keep you posted on any new developments.

Buffalo getting rid of some significant players. Left Tackle first, now Roscoe Parrish? If they hadn't signed TO, I'd start to wonder about them....nevermind, that just increases my worries. Looks like they are trying to make the push to move to Toronto sooner rather than later.

Did you want the Browns to kidnap Holt and force him to sign a contract?

Why would a vet who is getting near the end sign want to be in Cleveland right now? Be realistic.

you had a good run Hank.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have won the AFC South showdown for the services of veteran receiver Torry Holt.

According to Michael C. Wright of the Florida Times-Union, the Jags and Holt agreed to a two-year deal.

Holt, 32, was a top-ten draft pick in 1999.

As Wright points out, the move doesn’t rule out receiver for the Jaguars’ first-round pick, the eighth overall in the entire draft.

The Titans also pursued Holt after he was cut last month by the Rams.

Not only that .... but why would an older vet want to play in the cold when the sun of Florida, or the warmer climate of Tennessee await instead?

Because nobody complained when the Bills wre winning 12-13 a year, back in the day,....

It's about the team and it's management, not the weather. Just my worthless opinion.

Yeah .... but the Jaguars weren't really all that much better than us last year. They were a major disappointment at 5-11.

Who knows why?

He passed up the Titans who were better than either team last year .... and who appear likely to be better than either again this year.

$ .... location ... family ..... friends ..... team ..... who knows?

Yeah, their WRs have been pretty much garbage for several years. Basically have done just enough to get it done. Some talent over there would be appreciated, I'm sure.

Lucky for them, they have 2 RBs that rack up monster yardage.
