Well, Hank played in Pittsburgh but (and I might be wrong) wasn't he the one that Kelly Holcomb toasted on a regular basis in our one and only playoff game?

Yes,Kelly was one of many on a not so distinquished QB list who did so.
But he's our little Hanky now,and soon we'll hear just how good he'll be as our nickle-back.

Whoever thinks Hank is going to be good for us is going to be sorely disappointed. Hank Gotbeat should not be on the field, unless it's for ST.

We still need another CB.

Define "competitive" ......
2004: 4-12 ... 276 points scored/379 against
2008: 4-12 ... 232 points scored/350 against

Both teams had injuries, ("Evel" Kellen Winslow) both went deep at the QB position (remember "Use the Force" Luke McCown starting 4 games?) and both teams lost .... badly .... a lot.

That was a "rebuild" ... and this one might or might not be ...... but certainly very, very few of the guys on last years team covered themselves in glory, and none but those very few should feel secure in their employment.

JMHO Savage did a FAR - FAR - FAR better job of putting the team together than Butch Davis did. When Butch left, there roster was a complete disaster. There were only a few true NFL caliber players on the team. Butch could not draft players.

Savage certainly made some head-scratching moves. But, he did a far better job than Butch.

The 2004 team played as well as it could with the players on the roster. The 2008 team completely underachieved. The 2007 team was 10-6, the best record of the expansion era. The 2007 team actually sent multiple players to the pro-bowl. The roster did not change a whole lot between 2007 and 2008.

I do not see the signing of Hank Poteat as a good thing. He was horrible 7 years ago. I doubt age has made him better. Sadly, PS never addressed the secondary. Mel Tucker was forced to turn UDFA into supa-stars.
