Class to the end. Joe, you will be missed.

With that said, Koke and the Man better have something planned. We can't afford to draft WR. We need too much. And I really don't want stop gap players for linebackers. Remember the hole that put us in with Holmes?

I can only imagine the outrage some would have at Kokinis and Mangini if we didn't have JJ then went out and signed a 34 old receiver coming off of 7 knee surgeries and a staff infection plus a back surgery in his past. My god, if he had played for the Jets, it would have been even worse.

That was my thought as well... If JJ had been born and raised in Georgia and played for the Raiders last year and we had brought him in the same people that are screaming that he's leaving would have been screaming that we signed him....

So we have:

Edwards, Braylon
Stallworth, Donte
Cribbs, Joshua
Steptoe, Syndric
Hubbard, Paul
Leggett, Lance

I guess Cribbs will be our #2 now.. with Stallworth in the slot. No... Steptoe #2, and Stallworth in the slot...

Guess we will be running the ball a lot this season.

Actually,we'll be punting the ball alot this season.

I hate to see guys like JJ go,but good god it's time.
There's no one presently on the roster that can replace all that he brought. The new guys will have to find someone.

It's just disappointing when 2 hometown guys (Bentley and JJ) want to come here, sign here and then don't play much, if at all here...

I think most here are just mad that JJ is another local product that wanted to play and end his career here and it just wasn't meant to be. Incredibly frustrating, but as others have said, 7 knee surgeries is a lot, esp since he talked about retiring after this season.

In the end it's a business and the $ was not worth it here at this point in time. Give us JJ from a few years ago w/ a good knee and he'd be our #2 easily.

We're all frustrated w/ the Browns 'luck' here on hometown guys.

Bottom line is we just didn't see him filling any long term role with the squad. He may have been able to help this year.....but his roster spot would have meant someone else had to be cut....and possibly someone who might still be helping the team 5 years from now.

Peen, ya know I agree with you more than most on here. But other than Joe Thomas, Eric Wright and possibly Eric Steinbach who do you think is on the Browns roster that will still be here in 5 years?

Hell, most of these turds won't even be in the NFL in 5 years.........

I understand why they let Joe go. I don't agree with it. Especially when you look at our other options at WR and consider that we're still way under the cap. I think they could at least have kept him until camp. If he couldn't cut it then, so be it. But now?........It just kinda smells bad to me.

How is this dumb?

Jurevicius is a 34 year old wide receiver coming off a major injury. He wouldn't take a pay cut, so they released him.

Ah, the sound of reason. This is exactly the point.

There is a thread on here where people are applauding Tucker for redoing his deal. As an aging player coming off of a severe injury, many felt Tucker did the right thing. Joe is in the same situation but didn't reach an agreement, so now it's the FO who's jacked?

Exactly.

Why release him now? Why the heck wouldn't we wait, see IF he can still play, and then decide. We aren't using our cap space this season anyway.

If we were gonna cut someone, cut the guy with zero heart, and zero production, Stallworth, take the cap hit now while we arent using the cap space. IF JJ doesn't have a good showing in Mini Camps, then cut him.

Either way, if this is what was planned, then we shoulda got someone to fill our MASSIVE void at WR.

It won't matter who our QB is, he won't have anyone to throw to, we didn't upgrade at C or RG, and we didn't get running back to split up carries with Jerome Harrison, so you can kiss this fairy tail of us "running the ball" goodbye.

Like a poster stated earlier in the thread, we will punting a whole lot next year.

It's so nice to have so many Miss Cleo wannabes on this board. I mean, to be able to tell the future that our offense is going to struggle this year. I mean, I have to think all these people also predicted that our offense would struggle in 2008 as well.

Any of you guys have the winning lottery numbers, too?

I would love to havr JJ back in the line up, but like it has been stated here already, coming off major injury, not taking a paycut = goodbye.

Maybe that's the part where the FO was actually trying to do the right thing and give JJ as much time as possible to find another option... because they didn't see him staying here...

BROWNS
Cleveland Browns release receiver Joe Jurevicius
Thursday, March 12, 2009 Tony GrossiPlain Dealer Reporter
The last we'd heard from Joe Jurevicius, the Cleveland-born receiver talked enthusiastically about reaching his goal of playing one more NFL season and not letting complications from a staph infection end his career.

"I want to play here in Cleveland. If that doesn't happen, then the show goes on the road. But I'm going to play football next year," Jurevicius said on Dec. 18.

Well, the show is going on the road.

Jurevicius' contract was terminated by the Browns on Wednesday.

He was due to make $2.4 million in the final season of a four-year contract he signed in 2006.

The Browns may have tried to bring him back at the NFL minimum salary of $845,000 for veterans of 10 or more years - the same concession made by offensive lineman Ryan Tucker.

"We were engaged in discussions starting at the NFL Combine [three weeks ago]," General Manager George Kokinis said in a telephone interview. "We tried to work something out and it just ended up not coming to a conclusion.

"The effort was there. The talks with his representatives were respectful.
"Joe's done a lot. I know what he means to this team."

In a statement issued by agent Mark Humenik, Jurevicius indicated there was more than money involved in the Browns' decision.

The statement said, "As a Cleveland native and lifelong Browns fan, I always hoped to finish my career in brown and orange with my family and friends in the stands, and was even willing to take a steep pay cut to keep that dream alive, which is why I have such a heavy heart today."

Jurevicius, a Chardon native who played at Lake Catholic High in Mentor, said he will "forever cherish the three seasons that I spent here and will never forget the chills that I got whenever I stepped foot on the field on the shores of Lake Erie."

He thanked Browns owner Randy Lerner, the coaching staff, the Browns organization and their fans "for the overwhelming support" shown him, "especially the past 14 months."

Jurevicius, 34, left no doubt that he intends to play one more year and leave the game on his terms.
"I know there is still plenty of good football left in me, so please don't throw any dog biscuits my way when I return to Cleveland Stadium," he said.

Jurevicius missed all of last season after a staph infection set in following a routine knee procedure in January. Complications required a total of seven surgical procedures, ravaging the knee. But after the last one, wh¿ch he had done by the famed Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Ala., Jurevicius was heartened that he would be able to play another season.

Asked how this move makes the Browns better, Kokinis said: "When you make decisions, you have to respect the entire roster. It's unfortunate. These types of decisions are tough. At this point, we need to kind of move forward and continue searching how we're going to add players to the roster. You make some decisions and move forward."

A marriage of Jurevicius and new coach Eric Mangini seemed doomed from the start. In December, Jurevicius was one of the few players to speak out publicly and endorse the Phil Savage-Romeo Crennel management team. He felt the 4-12 season in 2008 was an aberration caused by injuries and roster immaturity. He appealed to Lerner to stay the course.

Jurevicius played in three Super Bowls with three different teams in his career before signing with the Browns in 2006. In that off-season, he joined local products LeCharles Bentley and Bob Hallen, both centers, and punter Dave Zastudil in using free agency to return home to play. Three years later, only Zastudil remains.

Thumbs up on D.A.:

The Browns intend to pay a $5 million roster bonus owed quarterback Derek Anderson on Friday, Kokinis indicated.

"I don't think we've changed from when we first talked about it," Kokinis said. "We're trying to get the best players on the team and he's one of them."

The bonus is guaranteed, so the Browns have little recourse but to pay it.

Lineman visits:

St. Louis Rams unrestricted free-agent offensive lineman Adam Goldberg, 28, visited the Browns, according to his agent, Joe Linta.

Goldberg, 6-7, 318 pounds, started games at all guard and tackle spots in 2008, giving the Browns a lot of options with him. He made six starts last season and played in all 16 games.

Originally signed by the Vikings out of Wyoming as an undrafted free agent in 2004, he spent two years in Minnesota and three with the Rams after being traded there in 2006. Goldberg also has a chance to re-sign with the Rams.

Mum on two players:

The Browns would not confirm that they had reached an agreement with Jets linebacker David Bowens on a four-year contract and that Jets safety Abram Elam has signed a one-year offer sheet.

You cannot possibly be implying that the Front office did something nice.

Don't you know that Mangeni and Kokinis are only allowed to be associated with the emoticon? It has been a board rule since they were hired and people were upset that they did not get their person. The TPS report was done in triplet and sent to everyone's PM.

how do you know that they don't have a plan... Everyone is so quick to throw Mangini and Koks under a bus for not having any plan,,

yet, nobody,,,, and I MEAN NOBODY has any idea what they are REALLY thinking.. and that's because they AREN'T talking to anyone..

That doesn't sound like a man that is unwilling to negotiate. Seems to be more to it than money. Flame away at me and the few others, but this regime isn't winning me over at all. Can't think of one move I really liked so far. (the winslow deal depends on who we get with the picks)

I don't get the "Massive Void" part. I'm not saying we're set for the regular season....but people are complaining about losing a player we didn't even have at all last year. And Winslow was barely on the field last year too. We will most likely use Hubbard and Rucker this year as well as our other new TE.

PLUS, we still have some other free agent WR's out there, the whole freaking draft and any UDFA we sign! Relax people, week 1 doesn't start this Sunday.

...oh sorry, I forgot about my obligation....."Magini and Kokinins are morons! ".......

This one is very interesting .... and as usual it starts with the reaction in here ... I have no clue if Joe was being an a-hole or the org. were being penny wise and dollar stupid ...

I was hoping that Joe would be healthy enough to play and would reach an agreement to stay here cause we NEED HIM ... but thats not gonna happen and the FACT is we do not know why .. was it money?? .. or was it Joe's health?? ..

if he's not going to be healthy enough ... thats fine .. but if hes healthy and would have taken a "steep" pay cut as he says ... well depending on how much "steep" is to him ... the Org. made a HUGE MISTAKE ...

I mean if the guys "healthy" enough to take up a roster spot to sign for 850k whats another 500k in the grand scheme of things .. especially where were at now cap wise .. were obviously not going to spend all our money and were going to have a decent chunk of change left when its all said and done unless we plan on loping off Donte .. and guess what .. if we do that then were going to need ANOTHER WR ...

Its way to early to even get upset with Jeannie and Coke for this one much less throw him under the bus ... to many things (health and $$$ numbers are vague at this juncture) ... but if Joe goes somewhere for 1.5 - 1.8 mill and has a good year .. then they will deserve to be CRUCIFIED for it ..

some have mentioned we need to know there plan before jumping the gun .. and normally I would agree .... but as of right now we need by my count 2 BODIES at WIDE RECIEVERS just to get to 5 on the roster ..... and we need 4 MORE THAT ARE ACTUALLY PLAYERS as the only one we have right now we can count on is Braby .... as of right now we have NO #2 WR and shaky as hell #3, that u know will MISS SIGNIFICANT TIME as he's done it in all but one of his 5 or 6 years in the league ..

Counting on Hubbard and Cribbs is naive at this point .. very very naive and more than likely STUPID ... if thats part of the plan .. IT NEEDS REVISED ... *L* ...

NO PLAN is going to fix the problem we have ... the two possible solutions in FA are long gone ..... unless another "big" cut is on the way ... and it maybe .. but thats a risky business ... the plan should not include the UNKNOWN ... *L* ... ... but like i said ... w/o knowing how healthy Joe is and what kind of money he wanted .... its to early to feel good or bad about the move ...

at least for those with a CLUE ...

I wonder if he plans on coming back to the stadium with him being with a division rival? Steelers, Bengals, or Ravens?

I can.

People always overreact, and speak from their hearts and not their heads. I knew before I opened this thread what was going to be said.

Sure I was disappointed, but at the same time wasn't expecting him to be contributing this season.

As much as I'd love Joe to be here, there's a reason he's not. It's called being 34 and coming off of seven knee surgeries. He's not going to be the same receiver. I wish him the best of luck, and I'm glad he was able to fulfill he dream of being a Cleveland Brown.

I will say that I am a bit curious about why Stallworth is still on this team.

It has to be something in the contract..otherwise he should HAVE BEEN THE FIRST to go.
People complain about McGinest and others who pocketing a check..well whats Dainty doing?

I do know if anyone thinks we have a compliment of WR's to throw in there , we don't ...man..if they plan on drafting some they better get some more picks..

I have to laugh at some of the reactions of posters.

Strike 3 against Mangini...there goes our 3rd down conversions...lol

I love JJ as much as the next guy...he didn't make one 3rd down conversion last year.

He had multiple sugeries in the off season.

He was given the same option that Tucker was given and JJ chose to get released (I'll call it RETIRE) while Tucker chose to play for us.

I don't see this changing our season one way or another outside of the positives that I believe JJ gave the Browns as a veteran leader.

I loved JJ cause he wanted to play for us. But maybe its come time to retire the new guys were willing to see what he could bring at a League minimum. Wrong??? I don't know. But I really don't see this hurting us in anyway. Except how the media will use this in their HATE MANGINI Campaign.

it doesn't look like he was cut for cap purposes. my take is the regime felt his roster spot would be better served to young, healthy talent. i don't think it's a terrible move and i can see either side regarding JJ. either way, you feel for the guy. hate it when great guys who are good players have to deal with the business-side of the league.

Quote:

Joe Jurevicius was released by the Browns on Wednesday, three years to the day after he signed a contract with the intension of finishing his career with his hometown team.

Unlike the trade of Kellen Winslow Jr. two weeks ago, when Winslow's abrasive personality was a factor, this decision came down to money.

Jurevicius, 34, was due to make $2.4 million in 2009.

The Browns last month approached his agent, Mark Humenik, about restructuring Jurevicius' contract, but that restructuring never materialized. And so Jurevicius is gone, eager to resume a career that was interrupted by injury in 2008.

"These types of decisions are always difficult ones, especially with someone like Joe, who has meant a great deal to the Cleveland Browns organization and to the fans of Cleveland," Browns general manager George Kokinis said in a statement released by the Browns.

"Eric (Mangini) and I have had extensive conversations with Joe and his representatives. In the end, we were unable to reach an agreement that was in the best interests of both parties. We want to thank Joe for his contributionsto the Browns and wish him the best of luck in the future."

Jurevicius, in a statement released through his agent Wednesday night, said he was willing to take a "steep" pay cut.

"As a Cleveland native and lifelong Browns fan, I always hoped to finish my career in brown and orange with my family and friends in the stands," the statement read. "(I) was even willing to take a steep pay cut to keep my dream alive, which is why I have such a heavy heart today."

Jurevicius thanked team owner Randy Lerner, the coaches and organization for allowing him to play for the Browns. He thanked the fans most of all, especially those who have stuck by him the last 14 months.

"I know there is still plenty of good football left in me," Jurevicius said in the statement. "So please don't throw any dog biscuits my way when I return to Cleveland Stadium."

Jurevicius missed all of 2008 recovering from surgeries to rid his right knee of staph infection. At the end of last season, he said he finally felt well and was looking forward to 2009. He had seven surgeries in all, starting with a routine clean-out surgery in January 2008 at the Cleveland Clinic.

The Browns are now without two of their top receivers from the 2007 season in which they finished 10-6. Winslow caught 82 passes for 1,106 yards and five touchdowns, Braylon Edwards caught 80 passes for 1,289 yards and 16 touchdowns and Jurevicius caught 50 passes for 614 yards and three touchdowns that year.

Jurevicius, who played with four teams over 10 seasons before the injury wasted 2008 for him, seemed to sense this day would come sooner rather than later. He was not available to the media often last season, but he was in the locker room on Dec. 18. By then, it was a foregone conclusion Romeo Crennel would be fired as head coach and it was also apparent Phil Savage would be canned. Savage was fired nine days later and Crennel was fired on Dec. 29.

"Am I worried personally? Yeah, you always worry," Jurevicius said on Dec. 18. "That goes with the job. I want to play here in Cleveland . If that doesn't happen, the show goes on the road, but I'm going to play football next year."

Players up and down the offensive side of the locker room talked about how much Jurevicius' leadership was missed whenever his name was brought up last season. This will not come as welcome news to them.

"I know how much he likes playing," tight end Steve Heiden said in November. "He's a fighter. He's a leader. He practices hard every day. On Sunday, he makes plays for you."

That leadership was sorely missed last season. Edwards certainly isn't that player and neither was Winslow. Donte Stallworth could have been, but wasn't.

The end is unceremonious compared to the triumphant announcement that accompanied Jurevicius signing with the Browns as a free agent on March 11, 2006. He played for the Giants, Buccaneers and Seahawks in his first eight years and appeared in one Super Bowl with each team. He won a Super Bowl ring with the Buccaneers.

Jurevicius grew up in Timberlake, went to Lake Catholic and lived through the Kardiac Kids and Bernie Kosar era as a young fan. He wanted this to be the last stop of his career.

"I have every intension of playing until I can't play anymore," Jurevicius said three years ago Wednesday. "I think that's how we all approach it. Phil's going to have to kick me out the door. That's the only way I'll leave.

"I feel I want to play as long as I can. I don't think there's a better place than right in my backyard. That's what's so exciting for me."

Jurevicius caught 90 passes for 1,109 yards and six touchdowns during his two active seasons with the Browns. He has 323 career receptions for 4,119 yards and 29 touchdowns.

"I have had extensive conversations with Joe and his representatives. In the end, we were unable to reach an agreement that was in the best interests of both parties."

See I took that as they were giving him the same offer as Tucker which was noted in previous articles. Tucker's deal was a one year LEAGUE MINIMUM.

Now I believe JJ and don't think he lied at all...as I don't think Mangini lied. I believe JJ was will to take a big cut...JUST NOT LEAGUE MINIMUM.

The Browns (mangini/kokinis) took too veterans who spent the season on IR and said to both...SHOW US. Either one can be cut in training camps if they didn't earn the roster spot with their play. Tucker took it. JJ did not. I'm not saying one was wrong n the other right. But I do think JJ had a choice in this matter.

Both seem to be taking the high road and not pointing at the other. All though JJ indicated a little - I'm going to our division rivals and might come back and play against you guys. Which could be the case and I'm sure they are talking with the Bengals right now.

I don't care for this release at all, Joe has and always will be a class act in my book, I just don't understand this one bit.

I think he's the only guy we heard about besided Quinn who rooted for the browns, liked them and wanted to play for them growing up. My only question now is who in the hell is going to be the number 2??? And please don't say Stallworth....

What isn't said is what he considers to be "steep". Tuck went to the vet minimum and I bet that's what the team wanted of JJ, too. Espcially after 7 operations on the knee this past season.

He was, IIRC, due $2.4M this year. Maybe he considers a 10% cut "steep" (most of us would if it were us) but that would still be over $2M.

Until I hear the number JJ was thinking, I'm not thinking he was trying to us any favors.

Other than 2007 the Browns offense ( and D) have been putrid. What makes ya think it's going to be any different this year? I use to think positive and hope for the best but I'm tired of the dissapointment. For now I'll expect the worse and be surprised if something else happens. So far I haven't seen anything to get excited about. Kokinuts is an expert on NFL players but the only players he likes are Jets castoffs.
What a cowinkydink. How did Slo Lerner determine Ko was an expert? Was he able to name all the team colors.
If your looking for predictions I'm no Miss Cleo but I'd say Same old, same old, bet on the Steelers and the Ravens this year

IMO, the "woe is me" and "losing" culture that the Browns have become all too fond of starts with the "expect the worst" attitude.

As I have stated many times, I think about Patriots fans, or Steelers fans. When's the last time you heard them take an "expect the worst" tack on things?

Now, you could say that it's because they do well and we don't. They have the proper things in place and we don't. Well, who's to say we don't have the proper things in place this time?

So many Browns fans are just whining babies, IMO, and it's all made legitimate by saying "we're just being realistic." Well, here's realistic:

Everyone said the Steelers OL would suck and that would be their downfall. Yet they win the Super Bowl.

Everyone expected the Dolphins to suck this past year. Nope, playoffs.

But what do Browns fans do? Waaaah, waaaah, waaah. We hired a guy I don't like as our coach. We hired a guy I don't like as our GM. Therefore, we're going to suck. I think that secretly (and not so secretly), many Browns fans love when the team struggles so they can all say "I told you so" and "see, this is why I never get my hopes up, we'll always be losers."

That to me is a culture of losing. How do you change of a culture of losing? By establishing a culture of, well, winning. Yes, a big part of that is winning on the field. But a big part of it is expecting the team to do well and not taking every single negative that comes along as a sign that the team will perpetually suck.

I've never been part of a fanbase for anything where the people just accept that the team will stink and try to find ways to prove their point.

I'm not saying we all have to praise every single thing that the team does. Far from it. We should question the organization. But there's a big difference between "why did the Browns cut this guy?" and "the Browns cut this guy because the Browns will always suck."

Yep your comment here makes perfect sense, and I am wondering if we are looking at Crabtree with the 5th pick. Now I might not agree with this route if it is the one chosen but I could live with it due to the fact BE is in the final year of his contract, Stallworth is Stallworth, and JJ is released though as you mention we are not sure as to wh (health, contract, combo of both) but I could see this happening now since we are pretty weak in the WR department.

Personally I would rather address the D but looking at the big picture we can be a year away from having nadda legit WR's, so we will see but, my thought concerning the upcoming draft have changed some as I am sure they will quite a few more times until then, lol

Both those organizations have football people running them, FOOTBALL PEOPLE, not a football ignorant owner, more concerned with his soccer team.

The Dolphins and Falcons are examples of what happens when you get football people running your team. It doesnt take 10 years of rebuilding.

Fans whine becuase they are SICK of rooting for a mudhole organization, hopefully Randy got it right. Hopefully it was pure genius that he was the only guy remotely interested in EM.

I believe the Browns should have waited to see what JJ had, and then make a decision. Had he not been good in Mini-Camp, then I'm all for moving on. But releasing him now? When you have a WR on the roster who missed 8 games with a muscle pull? Who did nothing, ever, for this team?

Yeah I question that, and its not just because its JJ and he's a great guy, or that he deer hunts down the road from the farm I do!

Hey, you just point out to me the evidence that Kokinis and Mangini have failed at their job and we'll talk.

My only question now is who in the hell is going to be the number 2??? And please don't say Stallworth...

With all due respect intended, I believe this is one of the problems regarding the perception of what Jurevicius is/was.

This is 2009.
He missed all of 2008, having 7 surgeries.
In 2007, he stated he didn't have it in him to play a full schedule, and wanted to be the 3rd receiver coming off the bench.

SO, two years ago he was allready worn down to the point where he didn't want to be a starter, and that was before he had SEVEN procedures on a body that was allready old beyond it's years. At best, Jurevicius MAY have been able to give us a 3rd down receiver, but that's far from being a given. Yet he wanted more than veteran minimum from the organization?

Joe was a great player, but was a poor gamble at this point. He was never going to be our #2, and would have been lucky to be good enough to be our #3.

***Gordon, I really didn't think you could be this stOOpid, but you exceeded my expectations. Wussy.

I'm confused. Kokinis and Mangini are both football guys and they are running the team. How can you say they're not football guys? Both have been part of winning organizations.

Joe didn't want to go to training camp and be cut. The front office also is giving him an opportunity to and another job by releasing him so early. I'm not sure how you can condemn the front office without knowing what actually occurred.

They haven't, but unless they start filling holes, instead of making holes, nothing will change.

At best, we will get 3 starters in the draft, at best. And last I checked, we have seven starting positions that need filling. And thats right now, who knows how many more starters will be cut before the draft.

Sorry, I'm not gonna buy the fact that you cut JJ and not cut Stallworth, who will cost more, LONG TERM AS EVERYONE KEEPS SAYING! Stallworth played half the season, and did nothing. But he stays on the team?

I always thought he ws the number 3 reciever since we signed him. I never labeled him the #2 guy since he's pretty much a role WR. Even when healthy he wasn't the number two, so why anyone would think he was gonna be that this year was thinking a bit (ok really) outside the box.

I had to check again to see if this thread really was about Joe J.

U can't ... but it is a common occurence around here .. just look at this thread .. u have both sides of that coin ...

1. ripping Jeannie and coke without knowing Joe's health status and what $$$ he was willing to take ... how can u do that .. its just ignorant ...

2. then guys like Toad saying Joe would have been "lucky" to have been a serviceable 3rd WR and that he was worth no more than league minimum for that reason ... when in fact they have no idea what Joe can bring to the table health wise .... and he may have been asking for 1.1 mill .... HE DON'T KNOW the answer to either .. and add to that the fact that there is SQUADOOSH AVAILABLE ...... yet hes saying it was a good move ... how does he know??? ...

I do not see how either side at this point can draw any type of conclusion on what the right move was BY EITHER SIDE at this point ..

theres just to many UNKNOWN FACTS out there .. as a matter of fact .. all we've heard is VAGUE GENERAL STATEMENTS ... the key stuff .. such as

HOW HEALTHY IS HE ... and HOW MUCH $$$$ DID HE WANT .. have not even been broached ... the only thing we do know is that joe said he would take a "steep" pay cut .. and even thats vague ... cause for him going from 2.4 mill to 1.8 mill may have been steep .. if thats the case .. thats not steep enough in my eyes ... if by "steep" meant he would take 1.3 mill ... its a whole nother story .. and then HEALTH becomes the major drawback in my mind .. ummm .. witch oh BTW we know nuttin about ...

it goes both ways B .....

how either side can come to a conclusion in the blame game in this one is beyond me ...

for me .. I'm sad to see his go only cause we need WR's and he was a good guy ... I will make mu conclusion when we find out what the $$$ he signs for elsewhere and how his knees are .. until then ... I will just wish him well and pray we get a 2nd rounder for DA ...

If he doesn't restructure his contract, don't be surprised if Kevin Shaffer is released by this weekend.
