Here are five of our favorite Friday-the-13th facts:

1. Fear of Friday the 13th - one of the most popular myths in science - is called paraskavedekatriaphobia as well as friggatriskaidekaphobia. Triskaidekaphobia is fear of the number 13.

2. Many hospitals have no room 13, while some tall buildings skip the 13th floor and some airline terminals omit Gate 13.

3. President Franklin D. Roosevelt would not travel on the 13th day of any month and would never host 13 guests at a meal. Napoleon and President Herbert Hoover were also triskaidekaphobic, with an abnormal fear of the number 13.

4. Mark Twain once was the 13th guest at a dinner party. A friend warned him not to go. "It was bad luck," Twain later told the friend. "They only had food for 12." Superstitious diners in Paris can hire a quatorzieme, or professional 14th guest.

5. The number 13 suffers from its position after 12, according to numerologists who consider the latter to be a complete number - 12 months in a year, 12 signs of the zodiac, 12 gods of Olympus, 12 labors of Hercules, 12 tribes of Israel, 12 apostles of Jesus, 12 days of Christmas and 12 eggs in a dozen.

The only player worth a damn to don the #12 for us was Don Cockroft.

As far as unlucky #13, Dr Frank Ryan wore it but so did Spergon Wynn...

ch ch ch, ah ah ah

i never understood the whole, "some buildings don't have 13th floor, it just goes from 12 to 14"

yo, if there is no 13th floor, and you're on the14th floor, you're on the 13th floor.

Just another day. Besides, my birthday falls on the 13th, and has also fallen on many Fridays. Only once has something bad happened, and I certainly don't blame it on the date & day of the week.

It's all a load of crap.

Dan Marino wore #13 and never won a Super Bowl.

Coincidence? I think not.

Hahah, actually, I was nine. As hard as it is to believe, she was innocent in that one.

Wilt Chamberlain wore #13 and he was notorious for "getting lucky".

The Friday the 13th last month at worked sucked.

I remember a guy that wasn't expected to die at all died on dayshift, then on afternoons when I came in, we got slammed.

Hope today is not a repeat.

Not at all... He died young because, like you said, he was notorious for "getting lucky"

Once again..... had another guy on dayshift today just code and then die completely unexpected. The guy was discharged, dressed and waiting to go when he suddenly just died. 2nd month in a row on Friday the 13th this has happened.

My afternoon shift was fine, though. My last one, as I take over the manager position Monday.

WTF ? What kind of job do you work at ? I mean, like seriously. Who dies at their job, in an office ? Nobody I ever knew, that's crazy.

On a side note, to contribute to this thread.....the old building I worked in had no 13th floor. Skipped it all together in the elevator. Worked for me.

Edit: O wait, I seem to remember you working in hospital setting. Ok then. People die there. I was thinking you worked in the most unlucky office ever lol

I was seriously laughing when I started to read your reply!

I work in a hospital. But typically on our unit, we don't have patients die unless they are expected to go. This guy wasn't too old, and apparently his mom just died somewhere in my hospital a week before. That has to be tough on the family. The poor guy was discharged and dressed to leave when it happened.

Friday the 13th is only unlucky for Templars, and people who think the next Jason movie might actually be good.
