Well, if they don't cut Lewis,...?? Who knows,...we don't know what the plan is.

Draft Beanie ? (Or whoever is left over,...)

Is Cribber now "their" 3rd back, with all of his other responsibilities,...??

I never used to worry about this crap before the Internet,....

"The Arizona coaches believe Wright will be an upgrade in pass protection and on special teams."

If thats what they were looking to upgrade - they chose wisely. Wright was a very solid RB...he did one thing "GREAT" and that was pick up the blitz.

bfs79...that question on just what does a 3rd down back do.

1. The reference of 3rd down in itself is talking about a RB that comes in on 3rd down situations which 95% of the time considered passing downs. The obvious short yardage running situations. We will bring in the Short yardage package.

2. So we have established "PASS" - the 3rd down back's first responsibility and PRIORITY #1 is to RECOGNIZE and then PICK UP the blitz. Wright was excellent at this...not good but Excellent. and also why Harrison couldn't get in that role.

3. If there is no blitz or there is and its picked up...the next role is to get out into a pattern mostly as a safety valve. He can even do this if he does pick up a blitz (usually on the outside) and then peels off the block into the flat.

He would also have to be adept at the Screen pass.

Its nice to know that our guys made an offer...with their passing game in Zona Wright's actually going to get recognized more...betcha his next contract is going to be a pretty big one.

JMHO...Good Luck and Good Health Jason thanks for your services.

IMO.....I think you can run with Lewis and Harrison....I think it really boils down to our OL.....cause if they don't show up, it don't really matter who we got running the rock.....I would like us to get a RB in the 2nd...but in the 1st, I still think we should go Curry...or OL.......

And NO...Harrison will NEVER be a Featured Workhorse either...His best suit is 2nd and 10 and catchin' a swing pass in the flats...U know...Those down and distance when defenses are t'in' off on your QB...Leaves the outside wide open...

Harrison will ALWAYS be what he is NOW...

Why do you have this opinion? I'm struggling with it because it seems if given the chance he could be that guy. Tremendous college career, physical measurables comparable with other starting backs, sitting behind a bonafide starter therefore lack of playing time up to this point ... not to mention just about everytime he touches the ball something positive happens. Is it not possible that he's been pigeon-holed into this opinion?

What is it about him that make people say he couldn't be a starter?

LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

I also wonder that. If the downside would be that he'll get injured or is to small........then I'd say keep feeding him the rock until he gets hurt or is ineffective. Don't you wonder how he'd do with 15-20 carries? I do.

He would score TD's... simple... But since he was not a 1st round pick, people think ... "well he fell in the draft for a reason.... he must not be good".... BS!!

Rishuz, Harrison isn't big enough. Cut and dried, thats all there is to it.

Even though every chance he's had, hes produced. IMO In todays game you need 2 backs to carry the load, and I feel Jerome could be someones #1 if given the chance. At this point, as he showed last season, he is significantly better then Jamal when he has the ball in his hands.

Sure, but don't you wonder what if??

I mean Harrison is somehow the reverse Metcalf.

Remember those games "metcalf up the middle" plays, over, and over, and over, and over, and.........and you thought enough already!!!

Well I have the reverse thing going on in my head on game day.....it's why isn't harrison running up the middle? Or more? Or one first downs? Enough already with the one screen pass a game!! lol.

Maybe the Browns should follow him to the NFC west.

Were gonna miss his pass protection ...
Yes but thats about it..he's o.k as a runner but nothing special..

I will be interested to see who we sign or draft to take his place ... we need a 3rd down back NOW .... I believe finding Lewis's replacement takes a back seat to that at this point ...

Actually they can do both...find a back that can replace Lewis and be a third down back..there are several in the draft who are big backs..and there are several that are feature backs (with the compliments of a third down back) but don't have the size of a Lewis..
