I know the tailgate lot is for anything non football related, and threads that start with politics I usually ignore, but some topics that have nothing to do with politics turn into it and we have people arguing amongst themselves all the time and it goes 10 pages long. Boring.
Why not start a section for all the Dems, Repubs and all the other parties to bicker to each other and if politics get brought up in the tailgate, move it.
I look to the tailgate for lighthearted subjects, and typical fun. It always seems to be full of arguing over stupid political topics and it brings me down.
Thoughts?
How in the world can you fix something...

This kills me. I click on a subject like octo mom speaks out. (example)
I want to read peoples opinions of her. Opinions like she is stupid, I can't deal with this woman, she makes me sick and so on, but it turns into a big 'ol political thing. If senator so and so did or didn't do this we wouldn't have these problems, how could she, if we passed a bill it would prevent this, It goes on forever, pages long about people bickering and throwing out their views. Slowly but surely going off the original topic and going into a political argument.
There is alot of this on the board lately, other posters have said also.
It's getting too serious on here.
How in the world can you fix something...

I am at fault at not looking into the feedback forum.
I will look at it now and see what I find, but these arguments do get old and boring and there is getting to be more and more of them.

They purge them every so often so it's probably not there. The gist of the responses by the powers that be are that there is no need for one because tailgate isn't overrun by political posts except for presidential election time.
Like I said in my other response, I am just fooling around with you as far as how I stated my answer. I believe my response was the correct one but I threw in the sarcasm just to screw around with you.

i dunno how many topics a political forum would have. usually i only see 2-3 political driven politics on the front page.
doesn't bother me, i don't even read political topics. as they make me nauseous.

I just went over there and didn't see a topic about that.
I could have started one but not too many members go over there from what I can see, and I feel it's best to get the point across by posting it in the tailgate.
If I post it in the feedback section, if the ref disagrees with me nothing will change. One person. If I post it in the tailgate and if enough people agree with me and my post, now I have people behind me and the ref will have to deal with this. If people don't agree with me, I tried and nothing will change and I'm cool with that.
I just want to put my thoughts out there in a section that more people will see. Not in a seldom looked at section of the board.
How in the world can you fix something...

We don't purge anything here. That was something done on the old board, and while I think we may have done it initially the first couple of months here, it is not something we have done since - certainly not in the last 2 years or so (wow, it's been that long already!!).
Threads may have aged out of the default viewing timeframe, but if you just change it from "active in the last 3 weeks" to "from all dates", you'll see quite a bit more

I can't even post a pic on here now you want me to go into the little details of changing from what date I want to look at posts! That's too much computer work for me. I just want to click and go.
The heck with all that other stuff on top of the main page. Who looks at it anyways except computer nerds!
