Corey Ivy-DB- Browns Mar. 18 - 9:11 pm et

Browns agreed to terms with CB Corey Ivy on a one-year contract.
Ivy, 32, has some starting experience but is too small to be an every-down outside corner. He'll push fellow journeyman Hank Poteat to play the nickel.

Another good signing. A veteran player on the cheap who will push our younger talent and teach them a thing or two about being a professional. I like it.

Yes!

Remember last year during training camp (or so) when RAC said we had the guys we were going to go with? Or we had the guys we needed? Or something to that effect?

When it was clear to us BGM (Board General Managers) that we needed someone...anyone...to shore up the depth beyond Cousins/Lawson/???

I like these signings...get a bunch of guys in here and see who sticks...if Ivy knocks Poteat off the team...then good. Same with St Clair and others.

Bums for bums? Probably...if they have to start we are in trouble...but I like that we are always looking at upgrading the roster...even if on the back end for now.

as long as they are faster than cousins, and have a knack for getting to the ball and making plays... Welcome!!

I'm more curious of who we are going to put at safety...

Under the radar signing. Didn't hear he was visiting.

Well, at least we have corners now. Ain't exactly flowing with talent, but we have a better bag of 'em than we did last season. Look for the draft and after for some help, let them duke it out, and see who sticks. Decent signing for the right price, and with a one year deal, I'm sure the price was right.

Completely. Better be one hell of a draft.

You beat me to it.

I'd say he's a bum as a starter, but who knows as a backup? Let him win a spot.........I have a feeling Mangini and crew will play (or have on the team anyway) the best player period.

The Ravens have like 0 CBs left....and they didn´t even try to sign him for 1 year?

Oh well, maybe he improves our pass rush since he as 2 to 3 sacks every season since 2005

If both him and Poteat are on the opening day roster we have a problem....1 of them is ok....we still need like 2 CBs to even start some kind of competition

Me too. The later we get in FA, the more I believe it will be a player we pick in the 2nd round (Chung or Moore?)

Also, not really related, but did we re-sign Holly? He's shown on the roster still on the browns site.

They still have Fabian Washington and they signed Dominique Foxworth....who aren't shut down DB's by any means, but still decent...I think they have a younger guy that started playing well towards the end of last season for them....but I can't remember his name...

Anyways.....it seems pretty obvious that we will have a roster full of veterans....and some decent depth.....I like this idea, as long as we don't go into the season as these guys having to start....

IMO Ivy is a far better corner than Gotbeat. I think this is a quality depth signing and does upgrade our secondary.

On a slightly different tack, I'm wondering whats up with Holly? We haven't resigned him and I haven't even heard a peep of him visiting anywhere else. Perhaps he's not fully recovered from his injury? If he came back at full strength, I'd actually feel somewhat ok with our CB crew.

I like this signing.
Finally we get a guy that doesn't reside in Palookaville.

It is what it is....a One Year Show me contract.

We aren't talking starter here. Just somebody to compete for a roster spot between the yutes Daniels (??? is he on the team???) and Lawson. Along with the veteran Poteat. We don't know what will come from the draft or UDFA...but hopefully somebody impresses enough to take the place of one of the two.

But I also got the Feeling that Poteat will be a Back-up FS for Mike Adams until we upgrade there.

I like this signing, when i heard about the signing i was shocked, i had no idea he was on our radar. Hes a decent CB, i'd say if he has a NFL career its at its height right now....anyone agree with the ravens at least....?
