False alarm. FedEx took it upon themselves to intentionally deliver to the wrong address. Not even the right freaking building!
Their incompetence is amazing me more and more. I will NEVER use them for anything again. I would no longer trust FedEx to even go to the store for a loaf of bread.

It amazes me that at least once a month I have to walk a package down the street to the actual recipient because they deliver to my house by mistake.
The first time I thought no big deal but every time this person gets a package they deliver it to my house.

Last week I waited and waited for an external cd/dvd writer to be delivered as the site says it was on the local "truck for delivery" that morning at 6:22 a.m.
They delivered it at 7:30 that night.

At this stage, I wouldn't pin much hope that we'll be up and running in time for the Draft.
It is only a week away now and I no longer have any faith that FedEx will get its collective crap together enough to make this simple delivery in time for me to get things done.
I would LOVE for them to prove me wrong, but I'm not gonna bet on it happening.

That's normal for my house, FedEX and UPS are regularly in my neighborhood after 6:30pm. Which is good for me, cause someone is usually home to sign then.

I must say, I've never really experienced a problem with Fed X so this is a kinda new thing to me..
I take it they've been notified and are on thier way to pick it up and deliver it to the right place?

That's the other thing.....they didn't even knock....they left it on the step. I had left but my bro was still there waiting and they snuck up and left it, probably knowing they would get cursed at for not getting there until so late.

That's how all the delivery places are. When they scan all the packages before they load them on the truck, they get marked "Out for delivery". Then they have to actually drive from the hub to their routes, which may take as long as an hour depending on how close you live to the hub (FedEx Ground hub is in Richfield). Then they have to make all of their business deliveries, as businesses typically cut off receiving hours after 1 PM. Then they do residential deliveries and pickups. Just how it goes.
Also, if the package doesn't require a signature, they're not going to stand there and beat on your door waiting for someone to answer.

It was listed as being in town the night before and on local truck that morning. If it isn't in that town and at the "hub" then it should not be listed as such.

Just out of curiosity, what's the deadline for getting it up pre-draft, purp?
How long might it take for them to get it to the right place? I really don't understand how a deliveryman can screw up if he has it the proper address.

It was supposed to go to 600 W. Chicago Ave -- it was delivered to 321 N. Clark Street.
According to FedEx, an address "correction" was done on it.... how they decided to deliver it to "Mesirow Financial" instead of "Level(3) Communications" is beyond me, however.
Is my server a part of the financial bailouts???
I'm not going to expect anything positive out of this. I'm expecting the machine to have been looted/tampered with. Hopefully, though, my lack of faith in humanity will be misplaced in this instance.
Supposedly, a FedEx truck will be at Mesirow within the hour to pick it back up and return it to their hub for re-re-labelling back to the correct address.
I fully expect to go through 14 more rounds of "address not found" tomorrow morning.

First bit of positive news.... the woman at Mesirow found the package and it had not been opened.
I'm not gonna get all Happy-Happy Joy-Joy just yet, but it looks like it may turn out Ok.... but we still need FedEx to deliver to the proper location tomorrow ::sigh::

Yes, to the right place (finally!), but I didn't know it was at the right place until 10:30pm last night - and I was up until 2:30am working with them to get it live... but she is alive and kicking and ready for me to start migrating things Now, I just need to find some free time...

I just had a momentary weirdness ...... I refreshed the page when I got home ..... and it showed no new posts. I then looked up in the corner and it said "Welcome PrplPplEater".  I refreshed the page again and I was back to myself. lol

I think that was IIS 7.0's new kernel-mode caching... I've turned that off.
There is still plenty of weirdness going on, however... and lots of it is making very little sense at all.
