Van Gundy: Wow! He didn't even bend Varejao over with that, I'm impressed with Varejao. Mark Jackson: I'm not.

That was great ... nothing makes my day like a systematic destruction of the Celtics. And what's up with Ray Allen? I thought Garnett was their cheapshot master. Should we bust out the "Got Nuts" campaign like they did for Dale Ellis? Allen should be getting his balls busted for the rest of the season after that move.

what do you do if the cavs win tomorrow?
you've got homecourt locked throughout, however, you know those guys want that 40-1 record. because of who owns it. you know they want it.
i say you play them as if it means something, and hopefully they sit the 4th anyways.
indy is absolutely no gimme though.

I think this pic and caption says it all. Cleveland Cavaliers' Mo Williams, left, and LeBron James move to the music during a timeout in the fourth quarter of an NBA basketball game agianst the Boston Celtics Sunday, April 12, 2009, in Cleveland.

Hit/grabbed Andy in the junk following a free throw. If Stern has any integrity (which he doesn't) he'll sit a couple games involuntarily for it. http://www.youtube.com/v/mGgDF0oFM4YThere's a video. That's the first I've seen of it, other than on the jumbotron at the game. He'll be suspended, no question.

I doubt he will be. It makes me wonder about Andy though, that shot would've crumpled most men. Andy didn't budge.

Zach Randolph got two games for punching a dude in the face. Hitting a guy in the nuts was a way more heinous offense than that. At least standing toe to toe and throwing a punch has a remote semblance of being a man. Throwing an elbow into somebody's groin is total bushleague garbage.

Well I am kind of old school, I say you always play to win, no matter what. I dont think it sends a good message if you roll over in the last game just because you have a record all locked up.
If anything send a message to everyone these last two games. Also, who knows? We may see Philly again down the road.

i agree.
i think the other thing is, these guys have had a pretty big amount of games where they have sat the 4th. it's not like these guys have had it up against them, really, at any point. i mean they had 2 instances this year where they lost consecutive games, and both times it was stopped at two (that's unbelievably impressive too) so i think these guys aren't anywhere near burned out, where maybe some cavs teams over the past few years have been a little more burned out...
i say go for it. these guys have worked hard. i understand doing it in football, because of the way the game is played, but with this, it's gonna be one game, at home.
with that said, as soon as we can get lebron and mo and z on the bench, the better,
i know some people don't want the pistons in the first round, but i do.
we can avoid maybe falling asleep at the wheel, like boston did in the first round last year, they didn't take atlanta seriously until about game 4, and even then, almost blew it.
with detroit, they're still the pistons, and if you don't take them seriously, they could steal a game or two from you.
plus, i love sticking it to that team and their fans.

Simple...
You play to win the game.
LeBron's sat more this year than any other year...he's gotta feel like Superman right now. Play them and keep them in rhythm against Philly.

not really, because they can't ever get outta the first round. it's a shame that team always crumbles in the playoffs.
if they did make the finals, it would be a tough matchup, but i still think we would win with homecourt.
i didn't realize it, but the blazers have won 8 straight against the lakers. i know regular season is dif than post season, but wow, what a series that could be, and i think they are the only team that has a shot at keeping LA out of the finals.
if they met, it would be in the second round as the nba does not re seed and portland is in the 4th spot.
i would watch every minute of that series. seeing roy and kobe go at it the other night was a treat.

I just happened to check the standings and had noticed they slinked their way past San Antonio into first in their division,...nothing to be alarmed about I guess, with the Spurs just kind of hanging out,....(see last Sunday-- )

worried, not really, but Oohrah, you bring up a good point...
Houston has historically been a VERY tough match-up for us in the LB era, and LB shoots worse in the Toyota Center than any other arena... they provide a very interesting matchup on LB as they can switch both Artest and Battier on him...
Keep in mind, they don't have McGrady like years past, so I would not put a lot of stock into them getting knocked out in the first round every year...
Houston is a tough grind it out team, and without McGrady, they seem to be a better team...
Plus, they have size with Yao and Scola, so yeah, it would be a VERY tough series for us..

Not only should the Cavs keep notice on the Rockets, but LA better be downright frightened. Since McGrady went out, they have been a MUCH better team. Artest is playing very well for them, and Yao seems to be proving that he is a dominating center. If anyone is going to knock the Lakers out, I think it will be Houston. Either way it goes, I think we can (and will ) take it all!

I was crunching some numbers on the Cavs losses this season. 15 so far this season. Of those 15, only 4 occured at full strength without a starter getting injured or not playing (Boston, Detroit, New Orleans, and Atlanta) and all four of those occurred in the first 24 games of the season.
2 losses to Orlando: 1 without Ben Wallace, 1 without Z and Delonte 2 losses to Los Angeles: 1 without Z, 1 without Delonte 2 losses to Washington: 1 without Z, 1 without Ben Wallace 1 loss to Boston without Ben Wallace 1 loss to Indianapolis without Delonte 1 loss to Miami, Z was injured in the game 1 loss to Chicago without Z, Delonte was injured in the game 1 loss to Houston, Ben Wallace was injured in the game
I'm not trying to say that the Cavs would have won all of these games had everyone been healthy. However, no one on ESPN mentions the fact that Z, Delonte, and Ben Wallace have missed a combined 58 games this year (9 of those without two of them). All you hear about is how the Lakers keep on going despite being without Andrew Bynum (who has missed 32 games this year but also missed 46 games last season and all of the playoffs).
Before Ben Wallace came back the Cavs only played 1 game in 2009 with all 5 starters playing, winning @ the Q against Detroit in Delonte's first game back. They have gone 49-10 in 2009 (Z was injured on New Years Eve) including 25-4 since the all-star break.
BTW, the Cavs are 18-8 against Eastern Conference playoff teams, with 1 to go. And, 12-4 against Western Conference playoff teams. 30-12 against playoff teams (.714 winning percentage) with on game to go against the Sixers.

mike breen actually brought it up yesterday. he talked about how the celtics have done without kg, and then said, but cleveland has won all these games without z at times, delonte at times, ben wallace, etc...
but i get what you mean, their studio "analyst" guys never mention it.
and i love john barry's prediction of lakers over cavs in the finals in 5.
stuart scott re-aske him and said with homecourt?
and john said "lakers in 5, i mean they've already gone into cleveland and won"
lolz. yeah in february. try coming into cleveland in may or june and winning. big difference.
the lakers are good, but they still have questions, probably even more than us...

Someone brought this up in the ESPN comments ... with the number of charges that Andy tries to take, he more than likely wears some "added protection" down there.

Dawg in Dayton: I'm surprised they didn't sell out all of their games at home.
"8. The Q is an intimidating arena for most visiting teams. The fans seem ready to blow off the roof, the Cavs having sold out 36 of 39 games. Sunday will make it 37 sellouts -- 29 in a row."
I wonder which game they didn't sell out. Probably some lowly opponent like Charlotte or Sacramento.
Go Browns!

ESPN has there expert-panel-of-18 votes for MVP and other awards. Lebron got 17 of 18 first place votes for MVP. It took me one guess to figure out which ballot I needed to look at to see who didn't vote Lebron first.

http://www.nba.com/2009/news/04/13/cavaliers.wallace.out.ap/index.htmlTendon injury may jeopardize Wallace's playoff status Posted Apr 13 2009 3:01PM CLEVELAND (AP) -- Cavaliers forward Ben Wallace has a strained tendon in his left knee, putting his availability in doubt for the playoffs. Wallace left Sunday's game against Boston in the second quarter with what the team said was a bruise. An MRI taken at the Cleveland Clinic on Monday revealed a patellar tendon strain. Wallace will not play in Monday's game at Indiana and is listed as doubtful for the regular-season finale on Wednesday against Philadelphia. The Cavs gave no timetable on how long Wallace, the club's best interior defender, could be out. Wallace recently returned after missing 17 games with a broken right leg. I think anyone who has read anything on this board knows the dangers of a patellar tendon injury...... I hope it isn't too bad
Browns is the Browns

I would let Ben rest until at least the second round of the playoffs.. unless he is absolutely positively 100% before then.
