It's highway robbery ... but if the Bears fel that they are a QB away .......
And Toad ..... McDaniels just rewrote the definition of falling in *crap* and coming out smelling like a rose.

Seems like a good fit for the bears, I'm glad the rumors swirling around that Brady might get traded aren't happening. I want to see what he has. Haven't seen enough of him yet. I know, Mangini said him and DA are going to compete for the job in camp, but I don't believe anything people say about these sorts of things.
But this dosen't mean Brady still won't get shipped sometime.
How in the world can you fix something... If you don't know how it's supposed to work?

That's not steep at all. The Bears don't have a franchise QB, now they do. The whole outlook of the Bears situation in the NFC North has changed.

Really? He now has no QB and a sieve for a defense.
Not sure about smelling like a rose.
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

Well, Dan Snyder did it again...
Now he has a QB who knows that he just a piece of meat that could be gone in a heart beat...that should help Campbell's confidence.
I sure don't feel sorry for Dan Snyder...lol

Also, the Bears still have their 2nd round pick in a draft deep with Wide Receivers. So they could get their Franchise QB for two 1st round picks. And still have a shot at a #1 receiver.
Also, this now makes the Broncos a possibility for Mark Sanchez. They now have the 12th and 18th picks. If they really wanted Sanchez they could move up and get him no problem.
Chris Simms could be a pretty good starter in that system though. He got buried by Gruden after nearly killing himself on the field.

The Bears gave up the farm for that one...
But, IMO, it drives up DA's value.

Sweet! So, Denver now has 2 First Round picks this year and next year and is in need of a quality starting QB. We just happen to have Two QB's AND a Top 5 pick ... I think we can get something done
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

I think its the other way around. Denver is going to stink next year. Passing was the only thing denver had going for them last year. They just gave up a pro bowl QB.

I think Denver is ready to let Orton and Simms duke it our for the starting spot. And now if they want Sanchez or Stafford they have the picks to move up and get one of them.

What they gain in picks more than rectifies that.

Maybe... the draft is a crapshoot. The Donks gave up a sure thing. There is actually a decent chance they REALLY screwed this thing up (long term).

And don't forget Denver has #48 in the 2nd and also now the 15th and 20th picks of the 2nd day (3rd round) - If they wanted to they could Parlay those two and get another pick in the 2nd if they wanted.
I can see. Getting Tyson Jackson, Maybin, Then with 48 pick up McCoy
Then in the 3rd...Jonathan Luigs and Cornelius Ingram???
And have 2 1st rounders in 2010???
Man not many can get themselves in a Cluster Muck and come out smelling so good.
JMHO

Maybe if Stafford slips to us Denver will want to trade up for him. They can't honestly expect to win with Kyle Orton as there starting QB. Oh yeah bears just signed Orlando Pace too.

I'd say they screwed up. They had a franchise QB. No they don't. They have draft picks. And two QB's who will battle for the starting job.
I guess they had to do it because Cutler was unwilling to fix the situation. But still, McDaniels should have been happy that he got his first coaching job with a franchise QB already on the team.
If you look at it the Broncos are in a very similar situation to us. QB Battle, new head coach from Belichick tree, 3-4 defense without players to run a 3-4 defense (although we do have the nose tackle position covered), crappy defense, big time wide receiver with no sure thing QB, and some pretty high draft picks.

I think what he's referring to is that the Broncos have another 1st this year, a first next + a QB in Orton who isn't the worst guy on the planet. McDaniels will either trade his two firsts to move up and get a QB that he likes... Maybe Sanchez,, don't know for sure.
An interesting side note, with Cutler in Chicago and Stafford maybe going to Detroit, Rogers in GB, that makes that division a lot better... Leaving only the Vikes to do something interesting to improve....

wow, this will really help the Bears. Yeah they gave up a lot, but they also have a proven QB. Orton is OK but not that good. I've watched a lot of him cuz a buddy of mine is a Bears fan.

According to a source involved in the discussions, the Redskins were closing in on a three-way deal Thursday afternoon that involved Cleveland quarterback Brady Quinn going to Denver. The source said he was told that the deal was likely to happen soon. The Examiner reported that a deal was close. Indeed, a CBS affiliate in Denver also reported that Jay Cutler had told them he was told by his agent that he was going to Washington. ESPN also reported that the Redskins were at the top of the list and a deal could happen at any time.
However, the deal involving the Browns unraveled, prompting Chicago to jump back in and offer a less-complicated deal, knowing the Broncos liked Bears quarterback Kyle Orton. The source said Denver’s preference of quarterbacks was Quinn and then Orton. They were not high on Campbell.

All I can say is I am soooo glad that we did not get involved in a 3 way deal....... Yet. Denver IMO might not be done yet. Unless they have no cards left to play? And those Jets still need a QB .....
Einstein could not even fathom the mathematical improbabilities of the Browns woes.

So we almost did it.
Almost.
I'd be willing to bet that WE wanted to really make it worth our while, so we held the deal up.
Now the Redskins are in the position the Donks were in a month ago, and Quinn can't be very happy right about now. Of course his happiness isn't vital as the job wasn't going to just be handed to him. Campbell is a classy kid who won't say a word, but if he happens to have a really good year, you can damned-well be sure he won't be offering a home-town discount in his contract year.
In a week or two we should be getting the details of how we were involved in this deal. When that happens, it'll give us more insight into what Kok and 'Gini are thinking......
***Gordon, I really didn't think you could be this stOOpid, but you exceeded my expectations. Wussy. Manziel, see Josh Gordon. Dumbass.***

i guess it's safe to assume then, that we wouldn't have received enough compensation. good to see us remain level-headed...or maybe they didn't think someone like chicago would jump back in. can't wait to hear any details to the potential trade, if any.
