Ahh I couldnt get my wife to buy that I had to miss Easter dinner for the Sportsims draft
I tried to trade my draft away but could get it done. Am going to the site now to see what I ended up with.

I was there, but since I had 2 drafts, I just went to the other room since I didn't see anyone in there except Frenchy......that sucked too by the way...having 2 drafts on the same day.....and to top it off.....in the 3rd and 4th rounds, I had the exact same picks with both teams....I had to know exactely who I was taking and select them, then hurry up and go to the other team and get the player I wanted there also.....all in all, I'm pretty happy with my Dawg Talker draft.....I didn't get the OL and DL players I wanted, but got 2 that are still pretty good.....

my draft went OK, i set my hot list up and it wen pretty well according to plan....the big draw back is you have to add enough 2nd rnd players to the list or youre going to end up taking someone too early because the hot list will select
got one beast of a full back though...current raring is 59 but his blocking is 102 out of 144, I got him int the 5th
Tonight i play in my first sim bowl in another league.... wish me luck

Yo guys in the training camp do you u use up all the reps each day? for example....QB has 100 reps to split between ur QBs...do u use them all up on day 6? and do we get new 100 reps on day 7?
I know that if you work ur players/starters too hard in training camp they might get hurt easily...but how much is too much? Currently it looks like i have 5reps to each of my QBs(i have 4) that sounds a little low. should i split all of the 100???? Whats too much for 1QB?

Good luck on the Sim-Bowl....out of 5 teams, I have only made it to 1 Sim-Bowl...that was with Seattle.....they are 4-1 so far this year, so they may go back.....is your FB a Mack Strong clone...???? I have him in one of my leagues, and I have a Daryl Johnston in another....both are GREAT blockers like you say....their rankings are not that good but they still can block.....

1 There is only 1 set of reps, you have 2 days to disperse them.....the reps and progression doesnt happaen untill tommorrow night (day 8)
2. in the strategy guide it tells you that to get best results on progression get as close to 100 reps as you can...but if they have bad durability they can get injured the 1st game
my little rule of thumb, if a rookie orr 2nd player has a durability near 100 *(atleast above 85) Ill give them as close to 100 as i can.... If they have a low durabilty I will not give them more reps then thier durability rating (i.e. dur = 67, ill give them 55 reps) ...they dont progress as fast during training camp, but they wont get hurt and will continue to progress all year
RE: to your QB's ...if you have a vet thats going to start but just drafted a QB to use in the near future give the rookie most if not all of the reps because they wont start. No if you are in the midst of a QB battle, then split them up evenly
hope this helps

I have found that these reps will in fact hurt you if you are not careful.....I think that it boils down to the player....for example.....if you have a QB that is a 95 current with a potential to be a 100.....then I don't give him to many reps....no need to...especially if he is old.....but if you have a player that isn't gonna play at first, say like a LB......I give him 100 reps...and let him sit the bench.....it seems to me that if you give a guy 100 reps and he is a starter, he usually winds up getting hurt....at least a NAGGING injury of some sort....I just found this out with my Tennesse team...my DL and LB's are not very good....mid to upper 80's for most of the them....but they were kinda close to being at maximum potential, so I gave all them the max amount of reps I could.....well, I ended up losing 3 LB's to IR and 1 DL to IR and 2 DL were in and out of my line-up due to moderate injuries.....I think all but one had at least 75 durability, so that plays a factor in it as well.....it's really hard to say how to ditribute the reps.....I look at it like this..... are they a starter.....then I look at age.....then their durability......then just kinda go from there....hope all of this rambling helps a lil.....

Okay couple of things i don't get..
1) Do you actually see players ratings change after training camp? none of mine look like they are changed...it's almost like i never had a training camp. You said the reps have to be split in 2 days...so i assumed on day 7 i will have whatever was left from the day before..but i had the same reps for ALL the positions. Are we supposed to do something after we assign the reps other then hit "update" or whtever button to save what u changed?
2) Why is the cut down list so narrow? it has some of my starters and it doesn't have all my lowest rating ppl...infact it doesn't have most of the ppl i want to cut...what gives?

You have to keep a certain amount of players for each position and then 7 reserves. If the guy u want to cut is not on your cut list check your roster and make sure he's not listed as a starter.
As for the training camp reps, use them all.

Yeah, you may want to check the rules about the cut list....I think it has something to do with whether or not you have them as a starter....but it also has something to do with the rating of the players at that position.....if I were you, before I cut anyone, I would read the rule book about it......

To any who are interested the Dawgtalkers league has a handful of teams open. We just played game one of the 2nd season.
APJ, I tried looking at your team but your link requires me to login and when i do it takes me to my teams.
Nevermind APJ...after i logged in i pasted your URL in the search bar and know i can see it. I'll let you know what i think.

I offered you a trade in the FOUTS league.....are you interested in a QB..??? probably not since you have one on the trade block......and just out of curiousity, do you want to give me my #1 pick back......lol.....you have the #8, & #9 picks.....that ought to be pretty nice......I am interested in getting a DL, so if you feel like trading one, I may be able to find something you are looking for......

Yes, it is nice to have a fellow DT join us.....good luck and congrats on your 1st win.....!!!!! Also, I wanted to see if anyone was interested in picking up another team, there are a few openings in the "CARSON" league that I'm in.....I'm the Browns, so they are takin....the playoffs are starting today, so the off-season for it will be next weekend.....here are the teams that are available...... Buffalo - currently the #1 seed in the AFC and nobody owns them..... Pittsburgh - it's Pittsburgh...that's why nobody owns them.... Baltimore Tennessee Oakland KC Philly Chicago Arizona

Just some tips from looking at your team;
1, You have a few low durability guys, you need to replace them (I'd try to get rid of anyone under 70). When the offseason starts check and see if there is a team in your league looking to try to win it all that year and maybe you can trade some of them to him/her, if not try to move them into backup roles.
2. Unless your running a 2 prong running game i'd make Wisniewski your starting FB. He's the only one of your backs with really good blocking ability.
3. You have a 99/100 starting RB and 2 good backups in the 85/87 guy and the 82/84 guy so take that 93 potential back and trade him.
4. Your OL needs revamped. Ideally you want your stud at LT (100s Rating), and 2 pretty good guys at RT and C. Your RT needs to be a pretty good Run Blocker (95+ ideally) but also a decent Pass Blocker (85+ ideally) and you C should be equally adept at both run and pass blocking (90+ at both ideally). With that said i would move Coons to RT, Brooks to C, Milburn to RG, and Hellestrae at LG.
5. Your DL needs revamped also. Your NT should be a 95+ run defense. If i were you i would put Kirksey at NT, Russell at LDT, and make Fields and Shiver my ends based on their pass rushing abilities.
6. Based on his build your LB Johnson really should be one of your starting OLBs, i'd move him and see if you can't trade for or draft a stud MLB (90+ run with good leadership)
Just some tips, use them if you like.

I'll definetally use it. I just drafted that Oline Brooks guy this past offseason. Pretty much just left the rest of the roster in place, but I did target him and draft him to fix the o'line first.

Your OL is good they are just lined up wrong. One thing you need to do is check your players, don't go by where the game slots them, because they may not be in the right spots for the builds.

If I may add my 2 cents also....dawg was pretty much dead on with his analysis.....if I were you....and this is just what I would do...I would take that 93 potential RB and trade him for a veteran OL....and a decent LB....it may take some research on your part, but you can find quality players that are ranked around the 88 or 89 range to fill these needs that carry high durability also...which is very important....not sure how much value that RB will carry in trade value, but if possible, maybe even go after a DB....your team looks alot like one of my teams......especially on the DL and LB's.....I'm not sure what style of "D" you run, but a good way to sort of hide a suspect defensive line is to run the 5-2.....it will pretty much eliminate the run game of the opposing team...and as long as you can get pressure, it will help your secondary also...which yours could use a lil work too......you just have to set your game plan accordingly.....this is the part that I loove about this game.......the strategy.....good luck, and hope this helps a lil......

Don't feel bad, I have had the New Jersey team in the Scott league for 3 seasons now and I'm still getting my ass kicked. Sure I score alot of points but I can't stop anyone. In today's game my team had over 500 yards of O with QB throwing for over 400 yards and 4 td's, still lost by 5.
I thought I would be more competitive this season. After starting 1 and 3 and 0-3 in my conference I have wrote this season off. I just inserted 4 rookies into the starting line-up hoping I can tank the season, they get good experience and I get a top 3 pick in the draft.

just when i thought i was out...i blew out st louis...a team that beat me earlier. i'm 2-2 now....but in all honesty i hope i get top 10 pick in the draft....lol i am also thinking of trading some players to get more picks...This is in the dawgtalkers league...so if anyone wants a player frm my 49ners team every single player that has been around for more then 4 yeas is game right now. So pitch me a trade!

Well since I put the 4 rookies in we have won 2 straight and are now tied for 1st. Since we are 0-3 in our division we are still down a half a game. Who would have thought.

Ya know, I'm having that problem also with one of my teams.....I have a Browns team that is an 88 overall in the Thurston league, and I think I'm 3-5 right now, maybe even 2-6. My problem is, I can't stop nobody to save my life.....I'm scoring points but I just can't seem to outscore the opposing team. It's very frustrating.......

Could be numerous things Roscoe. Maybe you have people in the wrong places defensively, maybe your not game planing right, or maybe your Offensive players have low ball handling skills and are committing to many turnovers leading to easy scores for the other team, or possibly even your defensive players have low leadership ratings which means they won't always play up to their capabilities.
