I think it is mostly my game planning skills. As far as placing the players, I try to put them that best suites them......if I don't know the player that he is compared to, then I goggle him, just to see what position he played (DT, DE...or DB, FS, SS)....then I go by their strengths....if they are good cover guys and maybe slack at the run, then they go DB, but if they are good at the run, then they can play SS.......I put alot of research into that, so I think my problem is the game planning.....I think what hurt me was with my 2nd team I had, I took Seattle, and I think I just got lucky with the game plan....they have been in the top 10 in D the last 3 years, once the #1, and last year they were the 5th...and this year, they have slide to 13th I think, but only by l00 yards or so.....but Seattle has a great DL, which makes the difference I think......I don't have to put so much emphasis on stopping the run, which in turn allows me not to have to blitz so much......I guess......who knows....

I'm in 2nd in my division with a record of 6-5. My nose is second in the league with 13 sacks. The linebacker I drafted 6th overall last year is rated 99 now. My developmental QB is rated 85 now. I like my team. I just need to add a few pieces.

Good luck.....it always nice when you get a project guy and he pans out for ya.....my Tampa team has finally decided to start playing, but wouldn't you know that Carolina decided to start playing at the same time I did. I'm only one game out of the division lead, but everytime they lose, so do I....as long as I make the playoffs, then I will be happy.......

I play the team I'm tied with for the division league today. If I win the game, the division is mine. If he wins, the division is his. He beat me earlier in the year and is 2-2 in the division. I'm 3-1.

Well good luck to you.....I have the exact same senario playing out also...Carolina and myself are tied for the division lead, he is 3-1 in the division and I'm 2-2....and he beat me earlier on in the year. But we don't play until tomorrow night....and I play Rabid tonight (which I should win.....sorry Rabid...... )....so this could get really interesting....I would really like to have the #1 seed going into the playoffs...I have a 96 OL hurt and a 90 DL hurt, but for only one more week...so they will be back for the playoffs....HOPEFULLY..... ......and usually you end up splitting the games between division rivals as long as your teams are pretty even.....so I'm hoping that it plays out that way.......the way it is looking, if you win out, and claim your division, I think I will get the #1 seed and you would get the #2 seed.....that would be a nice way to represent the DT leaguers.....and I see that Dawg is in a dogfight for either the #1 or #2 seed in the AFC.....good luck to you as well Dawg.......maybe we could have a DT league simbowl this year........

Well, I think the days of being a doormat as you put it are REAL close to being over....looking at your team, you have alot of young, good players..and with another high draft pick, that should be about all you need....thing is, your in a pretty tough division....Carolina is an 88 overall...and I'm a 92 overall.....it should be a good next season......
As far as the Fouts league, I have about the same situation as well...I'm tied with Indy at 6-1....(not real sure how that happened)...my team is average, but I have alot of vetereans, so maybe that is playing a part in it....and for the life of me I cannot beat Indy.....his running back, Biakabutka is a beast.....in the past off-season, I traded and drafted just to be able to stop him....and the 1st game this year, I did hold him to 130 yards....which I think is the best ever...but I still got smoked......I play him in the last game of the season, so it should be fun....

Trust me, I will. I'll send an offer to everyone up high. I want a stud. I'm not sure what position yet, but I want a stud. I have several positions where I could use players, so I'm actually considering, believe it or not, staying put in the draft.

Well my Cleveland team in the Lake league just lost in the Sim Bowl the other night to a strong Chicago team, my Cincy team in the Manning league lost its playoff game the other night, and my Cleveland Dawgtalkers team is currently 11-3 and has won the AFC North.

When you get a chance, take a look at the Fouts league...I don't think that it simulated last night.....I could be crazy.....but I don't think so......

Yep...everything is good now.........I squeaked out another win.......I don't know if you remember me telling you about the RB for Indy (Biakabatuka)....but I was looking at our league records, and he holds just about all of the rushing records.....dude is nasty.....

I won against Rabid in our DT league last night....so now tonight is my showdown with Carolina.....Gonna be interesting.....I'm gonna try an un-orthodox technique against him.....He has a stout DL and LB's, but a pretty weak secondary...so I thought that I would try passing the ball alot more....I also re-done my 2nd half adjustments so that if I get the lead, I can attempt to sit on it, rather than just keep trying to score points.....the first time we played his SE torched me, so I'm gonna double him the max...and see what happens....I'm usually a run oriented team.....but it seems like I always lose because of that when the games actually mean something......if you all have some spare time, let me know what you think....

Ok, playoffs start tonight.....who all do we have playing......

Dawg - Cleveland
Deep - Dallas
Roscoe - Tampa Bay

Also, if you guys get a minute...take a look at the #6 seed in the AFC ...Buffalo....how in the heck did they make it in the playoffs over Oakland or New Jersey.....I see they have a better win % than Oakland.....but still......that is funny.....

Well my team Kansas City didn't get in. I pretty much threw away season 8 weeks ago, losing to get a high draft pick. I think I got the 4th or 5th pick. Good luck to all who made the playoffs.

Well, it's going to be a boring Sunday for me......I have 2 teams drafting this weekend, and between them both, I have 1 pick....lol........I traded all of my picks away in the DT league for my "Deacon Jones" clone......so I'm hoping that he is worth it....... ....and in the other league, I found somebody that is rebuilding, and traded everything but my 2nd round pick to him......

Hey i'm looking for some backup type WRs in the dawgtalkers league. Prefer a WR in the 82 to 89 range with good hands and good fumble protection. I have a couple of players on the trade block and i'm also willing to trade my 2 3rd rnd picks and my 4th rnd pick. I'm Cleveland if your interested.

I can't help you there.....in fact, I need the exact same thing......I don't even have enough WR's to fill my roster, and I don't have a single draft pick. I'm hoping that I can get an 80+ guy in free agency before the season starts....otherwise, I will have to sign one of the crappy ones out there now....If anyone needs a good young DB, I have an extra one of those, but I lost alot of players and all of my draft picks in that trade I made.....

FOUTS team ran finally.......and that piece of crap Biakabatuka hit me for 170+ and 2 TD's.....and of course I lost...but, so did New England....YEAH....!!!!........ ......so that let me in.....I'll probably make a quick exit, but ya never know...!!!!!

Anyone got any ideas onhow to stop a 100 overall RB (Walter Payton clone)....I have tried everything......

I lost 2 pts .... Im so infuriated right now,

try switching pursuit to more medium pursuit...being over agressive in pursuit will hurt you VS good RB's..and make your defensive field strenght even..... and try linig more heads up on D

those have worked for me in the pastr

As of right now......here are my settings for what you said....

Alignment
Tight = 30
Spread = 40
Head Up = 30

Defensive Strength
Wide = 35
Middle = 35
Short = 30
Neutral = 0

Pursuit

Quick = 25
Slow = 25
Medium = 50

Now this is how I'm set up currently....and this was what I tried the last time I played him and he hit me for 170+ and 2 TD's.....I have tried this set-up for the 5-2, and the 4-3.....well, set-ups close to it anyways...can't remember exactely.....if I am fortunate to play him again in the playoffs, I think I will just pretend that he doesn't have a QB at all......run short yardage.....and see what happens....

What kind of Passing game does he have? If its not that strong maybe you want to change your "Key on" setting to RB.
