contemplating...it is atrtractive but i need a young back... there aint one worth taking with the #3 pick... and no offense your back is 3 years away from bveing retired..... let me see what i can cook up....ultimately Id like to move down again in the draft
When I play against him, I set it at 90 for the RB and 10 to the QB......he has a good QB, but he is still young.....81 current, with 93 potential.....and he doesn't use him for the most part anyways.....
And about the heads up thing......I haven't tried that in the FOUTS league, but I have tried it in some of my other teams.....especially my 2 teams that I run a 3-4 in.....I know you won't tell me, so I'll just say that it is the main way to run the 3-4 according to the "Sport Sims" gurus......and it works really well....I run usually 100 heads up on both of my 3-4 "D"'s.....but I run a 4-3 or a 5-2 in the FOUTS league....and it doesn't seem to help at all...this is what it says about it in the book......
Alignment describes the positioning of the DL in relation to the OL. Tight alignment (1-Gap scheme) is strong against the inside power runs but weak against breakaway outside runs and passing teams. Spread alignment (1-Gap scheme) is strong against breakaway outside runs and passing teams, but weak against power runs. Head Up alignment (2-Gap scheme) is good for tying up the OL allowing the LBs to make plays. There is no real strength or weakness for this alignment; it is a “bend but don’t break” scheme and should be the default for the 3-4 defensive formation
here is what I was wondering....does anyone know a way to tell what runs the "O" is calling against you......like if he runs up the middle....or sweeps to the outside...that would be very helpful...... ......

And neither of them have very good run ability. I can't believe it, but I just traded my 100 defensive lineman away. I got a higher 1st rounder, a linebacker with 100 potential, and several depth/starters. Now Rabid needs to accept my lates trade proposal.
I bet you did get a bunch of stuff in return...what was his trade value...3000...???.....I just traded for a Deacon Jones clone in our DT league....and cost me my entire draft...next years 1st and 2nd...and 3 or 4 players....but I think that was the missing piece for me to make my run at the Sim Bowl...so I went ahead and did it...we will see how that pans out.....

I think it was a good trade...I didn't look at your team, but if you was looking for a LB...it should work out good....and this years draft is really deep in DL....I bet you can still walk out with a 100 potential DL....if that is something you need....
"Winning is not a some time thing, it's an all the time thing" ....-Lombardi-
well, to be honest with you....I think you should build the hogs in the trenches...on both sides of the ball....but I would work the OL first....if it was me...I would try and trade Miami or Washington and get all of the picks I could with one of your 1st round picks...if they was willing, you could get all of their picks with one of your first rounds.....and still have 2 1st round picks, not to mention all of the other picks. this is a deep draft for OL and DL which is what you need the most. You have some pimp LB's...but no one in front of them..and no matter how good your QB, RB, or WR's are, they can't do nothing if they don't have blocking....just my opinion.....

Ok, I won my 1st playoff game...and guess who I play next....freakin Biakbatuka and Co....(Indy)....he swept me both games during the regular season, so I'm due to win, right...????..... ........ ........ ........

Man oh man did someone screw up. I just picked up a 89 pot and a 85 pot OLmen off the free agent lists in my Manning League. The one is a 1st year player and the other a 2nd year and the only reason i can think that somebody cut them is because they have ratings in the 50s. Their durability is good.
Yeah, you gotta love getting the free players don't you.......I am always scanning the FA market for those deals......I have got a total of 3 players with 90 or above potential off of FA, but they had seson ending injuries....but that was ok with me...I sign them, put them on IR, then resign the player I had to drop to sign them.....I'm not sure why people do that either....

good deal deep... Ill gladly take another year of losing to keep building for the future...beside I think I can get great value at 13 and I have two 2nds
I know Im living my playoff life thorugh u in that league...I simed your game
I was so disappointed pittsbirgh killed play off charge
key 90% on that back...because Inndy guy just runs...thats it, he rides his workhorse...switch up your alignment, imake your run defense 100%, 0% neutral.....
Yep, I have already done that....and, I made my pass "D"...40 neut, 40 pass, and 20 blitz.....I mean, I can't commit everything to the RB or he will just burn me throuogh the air, wouldn't he....???? I don't know how the computer takes over, but you would think that if I DO get lucky and shut the run down, that it would notice that I'm so commited to stopping the run that it starts picking me apart.....

I just saw your trade, and any other time...I would take that in a heart beat...but taking my current situation into condsideration, I had to decline on the offer....I would just have to turn around and draft another DB....I don't have any other draft picks to do anything else..and I'm already short a WR that I will have to add via FA.....

If you go and look, take a look at our previous 2 meetings, and you will see that Biakabatuka has ran all over me......I'm looking for ideas on how to stop him..... this is our 3rd season, and I have only beat this team 1 time, and I believe that was in season 1......I've tried everything to stop this guy, and I haven't been able to ever keep him under 100 yards.....the time I beat him, I think it was 125 yards, which is also the best I have ever done against him.....I understand this is a Walter Payton clone, but still....you would think that I could do it at least once.....

Roscoe, If it were me i think i'd key on the RB, from looking at Indy's stats they run the ball almost twice as much as they pass it. I'd probably put like an 80/20 key on the RB. He's got a decent set of OT's so i probably wouldn't pass rush much maybe 75/25. When he throws he either throws short to the TE and Backs or long to his WRs so i'd play a zone D maybe a 15/45/40. As for alignment maybe a 20tight/40spread/40/headup.
If it were me i'd probably switch that zone/man to man totals around (80 zone/20 man to man), for Pass 10 neutral/70 pass/20 rush, and for alignment 15 tight/40 spread/ 45 head up.
Well, the problem is...I have no draft picks....I traded everything away this year plus my 1st and 2nd next year and got the players that I thought I needed...Now,I do need a WR...I don't even have enough to fill my roster....but I can sign one in FA....so trading for one wouldn't benefit me much...ya know...???? he will never play, just be a roster spot......i'll look and see if I can come up with something.....

You must just like trading, huh...??? Ya know you good get all of Miami's or Washington's picks and some players with one of your picks.....still having 2 1st rounders.....plus a whole bunch of other picks.....if they would be willing....you wouldn't do that....??? If nothing else, trade one of your LB's or something....you can probably get 90+ OL and DL into the 3rd round this year....you need to get rid of all the players you have that are in the 70's.....
"Winning is not a some time thing, it's an all the time thing" ....-Lombardi-
You would go that much against the pass...??? you wouldn't go a lil more on Neutral.....just to help against the run... ????
Yeah i would.
all the neutral is for is in case your run defense % settings are wrong. Say you set your opponent to run 70% of the time on 1st and 10 and pass 30% of the time and you set your pass defense at 10% neutral, that means that 10% of the 30% of the time you expect your opponent to pass you think you could be wrong and he will actually run.
See...this is what really upsets me.....I spend all of this time, breaking down my game plan...and guess what happens...I get smoked.......he tuned me up for 236 yards and 2 TD's......gotta love it......better luck next season I guess.....I know one thing is for sure...I get a chance to either trade or draft the Walter Payton clone....I'm jumping all over it....!!!!!!
"Winning is not a some time thing, it's an all the time thing" ....-Lombardi-
Well I got the two top players on my board. I got the Winslow clone and my top ranked offensive linemen. Next year I'm looking running back, wide out, and defensive line. Maybe a linebacker.
dude soory didnt get back to you before this...had a fun/bad weekend LOL
I saw he still killed you.. Im sorry I dont know what else to do... hopefully I get good enough to play him next year and Ill let you know how it works out...but by all means his back looks pretty much unstoppable.. hes been all pro 3 out of 6 years... it sux because he is in your division... guess you know to go after the run stoppers next weekend then..huh
actaually looking back at my draft I think this year I pulled a coupe...
got 2 1sts nect year.. a young starting DL, Starting CB, an OL who will be starting by mid-season and some quality RB depth...give me a solid back next draft (or one of these backs develop ) and watch out
I am pretty happy with my draft. I traded my first two picks #6 overall and got 4, 90+ players including a 98 WR to go with my 100 WR. I got a 90 + LB and two 90+ DBs. They are alll young but ready to play now, except for the DBs who will need at least one year.
