What's the point of having a forum to "debate" in if everyone agrees? Where's the fun in that? I think it's a lot of fun to have these varying opinions bantered about. Heck, some of the people I disagree with the most,I get along fine with in person. It's all good!
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

DOH! I said the people in here have that mentality..I was truely being sarcastic.. I have no idea how good he is.. But U ought to know when players/coaches leave ..they were actually better than they were here ...at least the majority think that ..look how many people had a baby when all the ex-Browns got picked up by Denver..how many people said we were nuts for letting them go? Now look what happened but no one has peeped a word on that situation.. But those of us who saw the sorry crap that they were kept saying they were STILL PLAYING like they did here. So I agree , once we get some talent , the scene will change.

Hehe, that's why I said "I know you were joking"
I guess it's human nature to be Chicken Little, but I hate seeing it around here.
***Gordon, I really didn't think you could be this stOOpid, but you exceeded my expectations. Wussy. Manziel, see Josh Gordon. Dumbass.***

Well,we could be "overly optimistic" like the people who really thought we had a shot at the playoffs this year and set us up for a let down?
No matter who anyone hires at any position anywhere, all you have to base your opinion on is their track record. And for the life of me,I can't see any reason to get that "fuzzy, warm" feeling about this hire.
Sure we all hope for the best. But to believe we'll see something from a guy who hasn't proven anything in the NFL positive at this position,is just a little unrealistic IMO

Honestly Mo, you're after a PR move over a coaching move, and I can't begin to figure out why......
If you are trying to do a tough job would it not make sense to avoid potential problems as opposed to inviting them aboard? Can you tell me that this guy is absolutely the best guy for the job? Maybe he is. I don't really know but he better be or the Browns are going to look like the village idiots.. What makes him so much better than anybody else? How did he land this job? The good old boy network? Was he recommended by Savages buddy Saban? If the OL tanks again this year won't the question be, why in the world did the Browns hire that guy? Won't that be more validiation the Browns FO is incompetent? Why take that risk? Are we trying to out lion the Lions? Is he really that good? I hope so! BTW as far as the fan base goes I'll admit I don't have any real measurables but I calls em like I sees em and I see tons of Steeler fans in our stadium. I've tried to give my tickets away when I couldn't attend a game and had them refused by many. I see lots of empty seats after the half. I see a general lack of enthusiasm even when we have a chance to win. I see friends that I thought were diehards not renewing season tickets. Makes me think fan support is fading.

We hired this guy to help model our OL in the image of that dominant Houston Texan line.

The only think positive about this entire situation is that the defensive coaches have remained in-tact.
The recent hirings are not a good sign. If things do not improve, these hiring will be pointed to as being part of the problem.
Offensively this team is a mess. No identity, players with out of control mouths, and a lack of talent and cohesion. I think it is fair to say that the neutron bomb will fall on the players beginning March 1.
This year the Browns were supposed be be better offensively, K2 and Edwards, JJ, Shaffer, The only player that was lost was Bryant. In the end they were worse.
Welcome back, Joe, we missed you!

After reading many responces on this thread many of you miss the real point. It's not just the coaches or the players it's the orgainization that sucks. When management does not do they're job the rest does not have a chance and that is the repetitive mistake that happens with our Browns . First we have to stop giving Savage a free pass. Oh I know just because he works for the Browns he can do no wrong, how dumb does that sound!
Just wait till next season, I have heard that for over 40 years!

About as dumb as kicking him to the kerb after 2 years and a complete roster overhaul/teardown i reckon.

Yep,Thats what everybody is going to say. It's almost setting the organization up for failure. Who knows, just because I'd give my right arm for a job with the Browns doesn't mean anybody else is banging down the door. With RAC on the ropes, suspect QB, mediocre RB, suspect WRs, brand new OC maybe no one else would apply for the lightning rod OL coach job except a guy who has something to prove. If he's the best we could get fine, but if there were someone else of at least arguably equal ability available then this was a dumb hire.
