I thought it would go at least 5 rounds, but wow Pacquiao absolutely destroyed him. Here's a video off youtube before it gets taken down. What a KO!

Yeah, I saw the fight on youtube earlier as well ... Hatton just got destroyed. The punch count was something rediculous too, like 18 landed to 60 landed or something. Pac-man looks to be quite the fighter! I'm gonna have to make trips up to see my filapino in-laws and catch some of these fights for free.

Yes, very impressive win. 4th title in his 4th different weight class.

Hatton threw a total of 78 punches, Pacquiao Landed 73 punches. Crushed Him!

It was a perfect punch from a perfect fight plan by Roach. They had Hatton and how to fight him figured out. Roach said he cocks his left arm before throwing his hook and they took advantage of that with the right cross, that's the punch that put him down first in the first round. That punch kept working and set up that perfect left at the end of the second round. The ref didn't even count, he knelt over Hatton, waved it off and called in the doctors. Hatton was out.

As soon as he connected with that punch, Hatton was OUT.

For my money, Pac-man is the best pound for pound fighter out right now.

I would have liked to see it, but I had my daughter last night while my wife worked a wedding.

I went on ESPN to get an update and it was already over.

Pacquiao is a tough mo' fo'.

If PBF can get by Marquez...Wow, is this going to be a fight.

I just hope Floyd doesn't take Marquez lightly....It would be a shame to not see these two fight each other in their primes.

I've seen Pacquiao about 15 times and Mayweather about a dozen times.

Pacquiao has about ZERO chance of beating Mayweather.

Pacquiao is a seek and destroyer. When he doesn't have the speed advantage he is WORTHLESS.

He's a terrible defensive fighter. If he fights Mayweather he has no chance.

What are you basing this on? He only has 3 losses. Two of them were flash KO's early in his carrear. His last lost was to Eric Morales in 2005 which was a 12 round decision that he later avenged by beating Morales two times the first one by TKO the second time by KO.

Mayweather decisioned De La Hoya - Pacquiao TKO'd him in the 8th.

Mayweather TKO'd Hatton in the 10th - Pacquiau KO'd him in the 2nd.

Mayweather vs Pacquiau is going to be an absolute war. Saying Pacman has no chance is down right laughable.

Manny is a fun fighter to watch and I love him but in a fight with Jr. he stands little chance to win . Floyd Jr. is an incredible specimen and no matter what kind of douche he may be as a person in the ring he is untouchable . The man has speed like no other boxer I have ever seen and well, it's hard to hit what you can't see. If it is a war you are looking for I think you will be disapponited because Jr. will not stand and bang with Manny because that isn't what he does and Manny has ZERO shot at trying to outbox Mayweather . A lucky well placed shot is the one and only chance Manny has to win a fight like this .

I will just disagree with you. To me saying Pacquiao has ZERO chance is laughable. The kid is very good. I've watched this kid when he fought at Bantamweight. Pacquiao's battles with Barrera and Morales were great.

Now I'm not saying Pacquiao is going to win because I have Mayweather as the favorite but saying that Pacquiao has no chance is insane to me. He has a chance, a very good one. If this fight goes down in October or November we will all see.

It's all good . Having a chance in the fight ? Sure, it is a fight and any puncher like Manny has a chance . Having a chance in a boxing match not so much . With that said I'd be jumping for joy if Mayweather were to kiss the canvas as I hate the guy with a passion but I don't see it happening .

Pacquiao is a bad defensive fighter and yes I was referring to his first fight with Morales. He's also been in many other fights where he's been battered.

Mayweather is the greatest counter puncher I have ever seen. THE GREATEST.

I love Pacquiao. He's my second favorite fighter to watch behind Miguel Cotto. I love his aggressive style. I love how he jumps in and out of range and bounces around the ring. I also love the wallop that he has in both hands. The guy's an animal.

And....

I hate Mayweather. I hate watching him fight. He's also lame as hell outside the ring. He thinks he's hot poop and that the world revolves around him.

But....

This is a dream matchup for Mayweather. He would outquick him. He would frustrate him. And in the end he would pulverize Pacquiao because PacMan doesn't defend himself well. At all.

Pacquiao has nothing other than a punchers chance. I can't stress enough how bad of a matchup this would be for him.

That would be a great fight to see though---and I would bet it would bring in some serious dough for both fighters.

On a side note, I have watched Hatton get pulverized by both Pacman and Floyd----and in both bouts he seemed like he came in really cocky and got punked---often looking completely outmatched. It makes me wonder why this guy has such a large following. I know that I only saw him fight twice in two losses, and he has had plenty of wins that I haven't really paid attention too---but, to me, he seems like a chump.

It would bring in a ton of money.

But...Mayweather fights are usually lame to watch. They're technical, which can be interesting, but the one thing they are not are slugfests.

And on your side note I did see the Mayweather Hatton fight and Mayweather just toyed with the guy. Hatton was sooo outclassed it was rediculous. It was the only fight I can remember where I was angry watching it. I was praying that Hatton landed a lotto shot.

Hatton has the following because of his backstory.

He also is a fun fighter to watch when he's in the ring with someone in his comfort level.

I'd compare him to Arturo Gatti and Micky Ward. Real fun to watch if not the best technical fighters.

Speaking of Ward and Gatti....

How fun is it to watch two guys...all offense, terrible defense.....just throwing haymaker after haymaker.

And now that I posted that I do have to post a clip of the most entertaining fighter in my lifetime.

For those who don't know or were too young to have seen him, Tommy "The Hitman" Hearns (or my favorite the "Motor City Cobra") was an absolutely lethal puncher.

Pound for pound the hardest puncher in my opinion ever.

He was so big and long for his weight class and he used that size with perfect leverage and speed. His KOs were so brutal it looked like he stole the other boxer's soul. Lights OUT!

Take a look. It's long but if you're a boxing person it's well worth your time.

Gatti was my absolute favorite boxer to watch.

I watched him at the height of my interest in boxing back in the late 90's. I used to watch on HBO all the time, but didn't have HBO once I moved out and bought a house.

I ended up getting HBO back last year just for the fact that I missed watching some of those fights on BAD and World Championship Boxing.

i used to love tuesday night fights with the "champ" sean o'grady. the first bout was "just for starters" four rounds. they records were something like 5-0 vs 4-6 . someone always got knocked the heck out.

thats good boxing, ward-gati stuff like that. but it always ends up a slugger vs technicial fighter (maywather). those fights always suck. probably because i always root for the slugger. but the boxer usually wins. i hate watching 12 rounds of that. boring.

that is why mma is so big now. some one gets knocked out a lot and the worst it can get is either 3 or 5 rounds of boring. alot better than 12 rounds of boring boxing. and this is coming from someone who has stuck up for boxing over mma. but i go to a buddies and hang out with friends watching mma and its so much better than boxing now. less chance for a crappy card on mma than boxing.

but alot of my feelings about boxing goes back to the fact that good boxers always beat the slugger.

I kind of disagree.

I started watching MMA. Didn't watch much at first, but watch more now.

The rounds are less, but they are 5 minutes. And 5 minutes of guys rolling around on the ground is just as boring, if not worse than a bad boxing match. I watch MMA for some of the slugging, kicks and poundings they take. The ground stuff can get boring real fast. Nothing is worse than watching them on the ground for 4 1/2 minutes, hear the horn, the watch someone come back in, go for the takedown, and do it all again.

I was at the fight... Talk about fun... The brits were freaking awesome... I am huge fan of the pacman but I am a bigger fan of Mayweather that said Mayweather will destroy pac man. I think they have the same speed but Mayweater defense is king and will take advantage of the aggressive pacman. EVERY fight mayweather has fought he toyed with the fighters he hasn't really taken anyone serious.

It's difficult to say that any fighter who has never been defeated will be defeated but if mayweather fights pacquiao, he's going to lose on points. His defense is good enough to keep from getting knocked out but he'll be in defense mode too much and pacquiao will out point him. As he counters, which is his bread and butter style, pacquiao will take advantage of the openings and force him back into his shell of defense. Usually mayweather would win with his speed but in this case he has no advantage of speed and he's going to have to fight or defend. He won't fight.

i agree that the rolling on the ground can suck sometimes too. but a non title mma fight is only 15-20 min total. a non title boxing match can go 40-45 min.

pay per view is expensive. boxing you only get 3 fights, if they go the distance that is not very fun alot of the time, sometimes maybe. you can get 5-6 matches of mma. its just funner watching mma fights with buddies. kinda like when everyone would get together and watch some tyson fights at your friend's that had the black box. the only way i can watch non big fights of boxing is with my dvr. unless they are sluggers.

I understand a lot of what people are saying about the ground game in MMA. For the most part it's in the UFC. The UFC favors a lot of USA wrestlers that don't have a lot of submission skills. For example Josh Koscheck when he first started out on TUF1 had no ground game. Everyone called him the human blanket because he would use his wrestling to take people down but he didn't know what to do once he was there and just laid on top of people. But when you see two high level bjj or jj artists on the ground it can be very exciting.

Shinya Aoki is one of my favorite fighters and he is a master on the ground. If you have a chance look up Dream 4 and watch his gogoplata he puts on Katsuheko Nagata.

I like seeing good ground fights but I want to see Kimura locks, Triangle chokes, omoplata's, gogoplata. I don't want to see one guy on top laying there throwing little punches to the side and the guy on bottom throwing high guard and just stalling. I'll never boo but I'll scream at ref to stand them up.

In Pride they had a yellow card system. You won't see it here in the US because the States Athletic Commision will not give that much power to the ref, but in Pride if one/both fighters were not fighting the ref will give them a yellow card and they would have been fined part of their purse whether they won or not. I havn't seen it used in Dream so I don't know if it was only a Pride org. thing or they use it in all Japan MMA orgs.

As you can see I like both boxing and MMA. My only beef with boxing is they have toooooo many weight classes and toooo many belts in each class. They need to trim some of the weight classes and have a unified belt. Just to give an example Professional Boxing has 17 weight classes from 105lb to the Heavywieght divion of 200lb+. Olympic boxing has 11 weight classes from 106lb to the 200lb+ weight class. With less weight classes and less belts you will have the talent condensed and if they want the belt they will need to fight each other. Because the other big knock on boxing is you don't have enough super fights, boxing fans will be lucky to get more than one a year.

My only beef with the UFC is they have too many cards. There isn't enough top level MMA fighters yet to have a card (sometimes two) every month and you get a lot of crappy cards with fighters that will only be gatekeepers. That kind of talent is better on UFN's shows on SpikeTV. Even if they had a card every other month would help a lot and you would see some pretty stacked cards.

His defense is turning his back for rabbit punches as soon as the guy gets in close and running around the ring. Mayweather is a bleep... I hate him the more I hear him talk and the more I see him fight... I hope Paq knocks him out with a punch to the back of his head. I don't care if he gets DQ'd I just want to see Mayweather on the canvas.

If the fight ever happens, I suppose we'll see who's crazy. It's going to have been a year and half since his last fight when he goes against marquez and I seriously doubt that floyd got faster. We'll see though.
