That's what I really like about this team. Even if one of our "secondary" guys has an off night, like Mo ... you still have Delonte and Z there to hit shots. Rarely, do all three have an off-night.
8 more wins to go, and now is where we really need to dig in and expect a battle.
First off, game ball to DWest tonite... He was all over the place tonite on both ends... His athleticism is sometimes taken for granted... He also plays with a very high basketball IQ.. He was extremely efficient tonite, not forcing anything..
Although Mo had a tough game, I think those 2 clutch 3's he made will do a lot for his confidence.. as we move forward I think his "clutch confidence" will be a big factor....
Wally played well tonite... He is the ultimate "confidence player," so when things go well early for him, he usually builds on it.. tonite was a great example when he dove on the floor to get that loose ball and called TO... seemed to really get him going...
Our half court D was sick... we made Atlanta look silly a couple times, and also made them earn everything...
Offensively, we hava A LOT to work on.... We are turning th ball over too much, and the efficiency is an issue.. We have too many weapons to be as stagnent as we have been at times in the past few games... It seems to be taking too long for us to get in our sets, then all of the sudden the shot clock is at 5 and we have to force stuff... The faciliation and timing needs to get better... we also need to be running more pick and pops with Z...

I would have been happier if they just hadn't bought tickets. They booed every time LeBron touched the ball, especially bringing it upcourt. Very disrespectful. Then at the end of the game when it is clearly over, they're chanting "MVP,...MVP."

If anyone didn't see the end of the most recent Celts/Magic game, Glen "Big Baby" Davis hit the game winner and then accidentilly bumped this kid standing courtside on his way back to his own bench. It was a strong enough bump to knock his hat off.....but not enough to knock the 12-year old down. A few people cried fowl but they were all laughed off....and then this happens:

According to Shannon Owens of the Orlando Sentinel, Provetti says Davis shoved his 12-year-old son Nicholas with such force, that Nicholas' baseball cap catapulted into the air and his son went tumbling into his courtside seat.

Apparently, Provetti sent an email to the NBA League office this morning.

Back to the nonsense: Provetti said Davis crossed the line, literally, and embarrassed his son:
"The NBA makes it clear to not cross the sideline," he said in a telephone interview. "If I cross that line, the NBA will take away my tickets. It's a double standard."
In the email, Provetti said Davis conducted himself like a "raging animal with no regard for your fans' personal safety."
"A raging animal?" Are you kidding me? You're screaming bloody murder about an excited professional athlete accidentally bumping into your son at a sporting event? Oh heavens to Betsy! How embarrassing! Look, his hat fell off! Quick! Quick! Look at his hat hair! Take a picture!

This "concerned" father says Davis embarrassed his son, but then turns right around and brings even more attention to the footage (and Nicholas) by exaggerating the story and publicly releasing his son's name. Yeah, because that makes a lot of sense.
And the real kicker: Provetti used to be a Celtics fan.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go pour a hot cup of coffee on my groin and blame it on Kevin Garnett(notes). His mannerisms make me jumpy, you see.
I don't often advocate violence....but this Magic "fan" needs to get some sense beaten into him. If you're close enough to the action to get bumped and you don't want that type of contact....keep back from the court or don't buy those seats. I actually feel embarrassed for how stupid this guy is. If it were my kid, I'd laugh it off.

It's actually rather funny because looking at that second video, the kid is pretty far out. It's not like he actually went into the seating area and hit him but rather just barely crossed the line where the kid was. It seems pretty clear to me that he side stepped that way to avoid running into the ref (side note, isn't that the same ref that got hit in Cleveland?) and the kid just happened to be far out almost on the line.
Like was mentioned earlier, clearly there is only one big baby in this situation and it isn't Davis. You have to expect contact if you are going to sit courtside. Look how many times players dive into the stands to try and save a ball.
Maybe it's just because this is our team...but I think we have the most likable team in the NBA.
You don't have KG on our sidelines dropping F-bombs and having it be explained as being "passionate about the game."
No Mark Cuban acting like a jackass. As great a story as Chauncey Billups has been, Carmelo ruins it. We all know about the Lakers and their hatability.
We have a team that emphasizes "TEAM" more than I've ever seen. The guys ALWAYS say the right thing. It's unbelievable to witness.
though you can say the same thing about the Magic...only guy on their team that is truly hateable is Rafer Alston and he's losing time to Anthony Johnson which ends up making a good story out of it as well.
there's no doubt that the cavs are the most likable team, and amongst fans who have no rooting interest in any team, want the cavs to win it all more than anyone else...
tons of cavs love here. people are watching. i think chicago kinda has that midwest love. i've had a lot of people tell me they hope the cavs win it all and kick boston's ass on the way...
our team is likable though. they play as one. we have a leader who's as big as anyone in the world of sports, and he's selfless. he puts the team ahead of himself. he wants to win.
i know there is backlash with lebron with some folks. as well as andy (although that's mostly with fans who like other teams, they hate playing against him)
this is the definition of a team. maybe we don't have a second "super" star, but we have the right players. just like 1980 olympic hockey team, coach brooks said he wasn't looking for the best players, he was looking for the right ones.

The rule is in place to protect the players from the fans, NOT the other way around. There is a strict rule about players going into the stands, this kid was about 10 inches from being on the court.... in fact, he was so close to the court, that Davis couldn't run between the ref, who was ON the court and the kid without contacting somebody and wisely, he bumped the kid and not the ref...

WALTHAM, Mass. -- Boston Celtics forward Glen "Big Baby" Davis has apologized for bumping a 12-year-old boy while celebrating his game-winning shot against the Orlando Magic.
Davis said Tuesday he didn't see the boy as he turned and ran to the Celtics bench to celebrate his 21-foot jumper that gave Boston a 95-94 win over the Magic on Sunday. It tied the second-round playoff series at 2-2.
"If I've hurt anybody or if I've done any harm to anybody, please forgive me because my intentions were just harmless," he said.
Video of the play shows the 6-foot-9, 289-pound Davis ducking behind a referee and stepping out of bounds before appearing to place a hand in the small of the boy's back. The boy took a step back and his hat fell off.

If he had realized he made contact with the boy, Davis said he would have tried to make him feel better.
The boy's father wrote the NBA office demanding an apology.

i've come to really like big baby. i think he's a solid guy. probably the only player on the celtics outside of scalabrine that i like.
saw his story on espn last night, about how he was the fat kid on the bball team, and worked his way up. he still has the ugliest shot i've seen from a pro, but it took stones to knock down a shot like he did the other night.
it's awesome how he wrestled, and took down shaq at age 15. shaq admitted up to it too.
class guy. although in this situation he has nothing to apologize for. i don't think he did anything wrong and i think this kid's dad is just looking for the spotlight and some free stuff.

I still can't like Glen Davis, or Rondo, simply because the past two years the culture of the Celtics has been one of boasting when you win and complaining when you lose. The gamešof those two has improved by leaps and bounds though...I used to joke when I'd watch the Celtics play that "the Celts offense runs through Big Baby", but anymore its the truth. Davis, Rondo and Powe are the nucleus of that team going forward, because its becoming pretty evident that they don't need KG to win, and Pierce has more or less been a footnote this postseason. Ray Allen's ability to hit the clutch three is just about the only thing the "Big Three" has contributed. The real story of the Celtics is how much Rondo and Baby have come on.

i mean seriously, did anyone see kg when he was out there the last time he came back? he was horrible, a shell of himself.
kg or not, we are going to punish the celtics. it is just a matter of time.
boston's defense has been extremely average, i credit doc rivers for getting them this far though. to lose your best player, who's also your best defensive player, as well as another big who's a key part of your bench, and still make it this far is impressive.
but it just ain't their year.
this won't be 4 and out, but if the cavs play to their potential, it's over before 7.
