Huge relief for me, cause I needed this series to go 7...
I fly home next Friday afternoon for the weekend, so I was very worried I would miss the opportunity to go to the ECF... The worries are gone.. My Dad has tix to all the home playoff games, so I WILL be at Game 2 of ECF!! So pumped!

This has been a rather shocking series. How LA has lost 2 games to a Rockets team without McGrady AND Yao I have no idea.
Many could argue game 4 was an aberration given Brooks monster game but he's continued to play well (26 last night). That may be more trend than one time thing. Now, as for game 6......I'd love an explanation by the resident Laker fan.
I'd really put a lot of this on Kobe's shoulders. Kobe is averaging 25 shots a game and only 3.5 assists. He's really got caught up in the one on one battle with Artest. He's taking too many shots, not getting others involved and really starting to point fingers as games turn in Houston's favor.
Everyone (save Denver) seems to be doing the Cavs a huge favor by extending these series. Boston and Orlando are slogging through a series, as is LA and Houston and the Cavs and Nuggets are the only two teams that are going to have fresh legs in the conference finals. LA has already logged 3 more games than the Cavs (soon to be 4) and they're still staring at an extended series with Denver in the WCF (if they get by Houston).
I think LA wins game 7 but Cleveland CLEARLY has more WANT TO than LA in these playoffs. Unless you want to tell me that Houston, minus Yao and McGrady, is better than 47 win Atlanta? Who looked like they just wanted to go hide in the corner against Cleveland.
I'm sure some Lakers fan will chime in and say they'll "turn it on" for the finals but at this rate, they may not even get there.
trella, where did you get that info from? Im not saying its not true, I hope to god it is, because ill be in Cincinnati that Sat night for the Indians game and I didnt want to miss any of the ECF.
if ron artest can put 48 minutes together of shutting down kobe, the rockets have a chance...
but guys and gals, this lakers team has problems.
andrew bynum was lakers' fans running excuse after getting outclassed in the finals... "oh well we didn't have bynum" "when we get bynum back we're gonna be unstoppable"
not.
andrew bynum has potential to be a good big man, but he would not have made a difference last year, and he isn't making a difference this year, i have a feeling bynum will end up being one of those coulda woulda shoulda players. it's funny how even lakers fans wanted nothing to do with him 2 years ago. even kobe laughed when someone asked him about bynum.
they're a good team, but i don't think they are as mentally tough as the cavs.
you can turn the intensity up on these guys and really rattle them....
so we play wednesday, that is ridiculous. to push game 7 back to sunday and make the cavs wait a week and a half (again) is ludicrous.
As you have said, any team is "not that far away,..." but, the Lakers look like all they have is Kobe.
Think we'll just put The Man on him ?? I fear that would let their other four possibly with a good chance to beat ours,...may be better to stick Delonte on him.
Just Play Ball !!
Are you gonna cry if the Cavs win this ?? I say I'm not, but it's gonna be hard to choke back all this frustration (45 years,...wow)
If we play the Lakers, DWest will guard him through the first three quarters in most of the games I would guess... Things could differ depending on where the series stands and if it is a closeout game, etc.
i honestly don't know what i'll do. i mean how can anyone who wasn't around in '64? i know i'll be drinking for the next few days though. i will be in cleveland for it too.
as far as defending kobe, i said it before, i let d-west handle him for 3 quarters, and when it's shutdown time, it's lebron.
i would keep him on odom until the 4th... odom will crumble against lbj and he won't have another miracle game like he did back in february at the q...
I was worried about the inside presence of the Lakers before, but look what Houston is doing to them! With Yao out, the tallest guy on their roster now is 6'9. You would think that Gasol, Bynum and Odom would be dominating, yet they aren't. The Lakers definitely have the talent, but something is really wrong with that team right now.
As for the "Cavs win it all scenario" ... I have no idea what I'd do, and there's really no limit to the options in play: Cry like a little girl, run through the streets screaming, tip over bicycles in a mini-riot.
I will be downtown drinking, crying, and maybe turning over a car or 2 all at the sametime
(j/k about turning over the cars.... but I will go to my cousins penthouse apartment in Resevre square and watch all the pretty fires that are started)
i wouldn't miss it for the world. i don't have a ton of vacation time, but whatever i have i'll use, and whatever i need, i will take without pay, could be a once in a lifetime thing.
8 big ones to go. i hate this waiting period.
it's like God is telling us we're gonna do it, but he's going to make it unbearable beforehand...
Although, I was doing the same planning 2 years ago for the Indians too.
me too, although not really planning because my plans were set it stone.
i arrived in vegas for a 4 day vacation the night of game 1 of the world series, and all i could talk about was how cool it would be to be in vegas the night of an indians world series.
so now, with me talking about winning a chip, maybe you don't wanna jinx again?
not.
this team isn't jinxable. they don't get hot. they don't get cold, they are who they are, and they couldn't care less about curses, jinxes, fumbles, drives, or jose mesa.
I work nights at a place about 10 minutes from downtown. I have already told my boss if we clinch on a night I am at work then I will be sick immediatly and have to leave work.
If the clincher is on a night I am not working, I live about 45 minutes drive from work. I will be making the drive up fo sho.

I think I remember that, I was in Vegas for the WS too that year. I was actually pissed because I thought I was going to miss out on the celebration.
Ill actually be in Vegas for the first 2 games of the NBA Finals this year too. Thankfully Ill be back in time if we do win it to party in Cleveland.

the only thing i got out of that, was before the tribe choked away that series, i laid all of my money on boston in game 7. made some cash, and brought it with to vegas. which i promptly blew.
Maybe it's just me ... but these commercials look like they were made by some Laker fan. I thought the Lebron chalk one was kind of insulting ... and this one is just Kobe rubbing rings in Lebron's face.
Maybe if it had Lebron saying, "You should call Shaq and see if he can help you ... you know, since you would still be looking for just one without his help in the first place".
i didn't really think they were all that insulting, but i just didn't really like them, i thought it was kinda dumb, and forced.
bring back the lebrons.
my favorite lebron commercial is the one that debuted in his first game. where he has the ball, against sacto at arco in his first game, and he's just standing there, and everyone is silent, and waiting, and they think he's gonna crack
then he smiles, and gets after it, great commercial, and i think it's even better 6 years later and you see where he is.
and just in case you don't remember or didn't see it.

Could be,...?? It definitely IS. I just don't want my lifetime to run out.
Hope the Browns can assimilate this same "swagger."
I think our biggest challenge is coming off the left coast.
I do want to see us play Boston as well for 2 reasons. First, I want to knock off the best. Beat the champs. Secondly, the Magic gave us a tough time during the season. Though I think we're still a better team, I rather play Boston. Just in case.
