LOL.

Yeah, that state has its issues, definitely glad I'm in SoCal nowadays. I actually think she majored in Chemistry so I think she would know where "the Iraq" is.

Ken Berger's Eastern Conference Finals Preview

Season Series: Orlando won 2-1.

Berger's Take: Nobody is playing better -– or less frequently -– than the Cavs, who've spent much of the postseason vacationing when they haven't been sweeping Detroit and Atlanta. The Magic are coming off a difficult seven-game series in which they shed their reputation as a soft team that wilts under pressure. It took some growing up for Dwight Howard to demand the ball, and it took resilience to come back from two crushing losses in a row to finish off the defending champs by winning Game 6 at home and leading almost wire-to-wire in a 19-point win in Game 7 at Boston. What does it all mean? Not much, because Orlando's next opponent is at full strength, won't be as tired as the Celtics were and won't try to get by with a patchwork lineup and bench. But after limiting Ray Allen and Paul Pierce for most of the series, the Magic now deserve to be regarded as one of the best defensive teams in the league. (In Orlando's two regular-season victories over the Cavs, LeBron James was 17-for-47, or 36 percent. Of course, he scored 43 in the Cavs' blowout win over Orlando at home.) Offensively, the Magic will need a more assertive performance from Rashard Lewis than they got from him in the Boston series. We know he can shoot the 3, but Lewis needs to drive the ball more to force Cleveland to make decisions, which could result in easy buckets for Dwight Howard.

Key Matchup: Mo Williams vs. Rafer Alston. Is it just me, or do the Magic seem to play better when Alston is on the bench? Not all the time, but for significant spurts in the Boston series -– the entire game Alston missed because of a one-game suspension, and a crucial stretch when they pulled away in Game 7 -- Orlando's offense seemed to move more freely and crisply with backup Anthony Johnson running it. Hmmm. Alston did put up numbers in his two games against Cleveland this year, but for every big shot he makes, there are four or five ill-advised misses. Williams has been as steady as any complementary scorer in the league alongside LeBron.

X-Factor: Mickael Pietrus. Every team in the playoffs needs an unexpected bench player to catch the defense unaware and knock down shots at momentum-changing moments. Pietrus did plenty of that against the Celtics, who were too tired to close out on shooters in the latter stages of the conference semifinals. Don't expect Cleveland to be quite so cavalier about Pietrus' shooting ability. They'll know where he is and will run somebody at him better than the Celtics did. But Pietrus' offense is a bonus for Orlando. His job description will be to use his strength and length to play quality minutes against LeBron when Courtney Lee isn't guarding him. Pietrus can't stop LeBron, but he can make him work harder than any other defender Orlando has.

Prediction: Cavs in 6.

82games.com backs up his assertion that Orlando is better with Anthony Johnson running PG with the starters.

Mo Williams should be able to humiliate Alston almost as badly as LeBron can humiliate Turkoglu.

With AV taking away Rashard and their SG's really outside shooters (Courtney Lee can drive but has been tentative about doing so), that just leaves Dwight to be the difference maker.

I know they matched up well during the season, and their bench could give them a huge boost in this series if Joe Smith, Wally and Gibson don't provide some scoring. But, I feel good about this series.

big night tonight.....

no not the Lakers vs. Nuggets...we'll worry about that series when it's closer to meaning something to us.

I'm talking about the lottery...the biggest help the Cavs could get this offseason is if the Grizzlies won the lottery tonight. they are among the teams searching for a PF (and have cap space) and will be in the market for Boozer, Mislap, Okur and AV.

if they get Griffin, then Detroit probably gets Boozer and Utah takes back Mislap and Okur. That leaves AV without a suitable suitor and we have an easier time in negotiations.

How many divisional games per year then would Carlos miss versus Cle because of "injury"

another reason to cheer for Memphis tonight....how fun would it be to go against Boozer more often. not like i'm worried he'd make them a contender.

I swear he went from "soon to be all-star" to costing Utah alot of money to sit on the bench in record time...

...at least wait a few season before you become injury prone...right?

that entire fiasco, if you even wanna call it that now, turned out to be a blessing in disguise.

remember, paxson somewhat panicked, and went out and made a trade, and varejao ended up being part of a throw in. it was the gooden deal (i made an error earlier in this topic, the trade was battie to orlando, not battie with andy from olrando)

and i'm not saying andy is better than boozer, when both are healthy, boozer is a better basketball player straight up. but when you throw in the history of injury, i'll take andy.

he's the perfect fit for this team too. especially when z decides to call it quits and they wanna maybe run a little more... if you have bosh and andy, you may have the most athletic starting 5 in the league when you add in lebron, mo, and delonte.

and also add in the fact that Gooden ended up being part of the trades that ended in the team we have now (Mo, Delonte, Ben, Joe)

i wouldn't change a single transaction we have made the past few years because it could mean we don't have the team we have right now. butterfly affect in action.

Anybody know the line for tomorrow's game?

Tonight's is -7.....obviously for the Lakers.

I was thinking, if the Lakers are giving 7 and they just stumbled their way through a Yaoless 7-game series and hosting a rested & focused Nuggets team.....how much would the Cavs be giving when they're rested, hosting a tired Magic team and the Cavs have been crushing everyone they play?

* I can't access that info while at work.

by the time this series is over, orlando is going to get the "try again later" response from the magic 8-ball.

I knew Howard would pull something like knocking down the shot clock, this was clearly intentional.

On that fastbreak ORL layuup that LBJ tried to chase down, did anyone notice that he actually almost busted his head on the damn backboard? Holy crap he got up there.

Hate to say it for the superstitious people, but it's almost like it's this teams destiny. Everything going their way, they are hitting on all cylinders. They need to keep playing this way, because they can't be beat when they play at this high level.

Orlando is back into this one due to their big 3 qtr. We need to shut them down in the fourth and stop turning the ball over.
