....the Indians have managed to win a few ball games, and are threatening to climb out of the cellar. What is absolutely unbelievable is that we couldn't have played any worse through this point of the season and we're only 5 games back! at 14-22! Thank God we play in a crappy division. Is anyone still paying attention to the tribe? or is this thread a lost cause?

I was down at the game yesterday. Admittedly, it was a 12:05pm start time on a Weds, but if you were to take away the probably 8-10,000 junior high kids that were there on field trips, there were probably only 7-8,000 other fans in attendance.
They do need to play more consistent ball. Thank God for quality starts lately.

I've noticed this was the 2nd time all year they won back-to-back games. Laporta needs to play every day. Francisco, Dellucci, and even Hafner need to take a back seat to Matt. He is a cornerstone to our future. His time is now.
Who's going to replace Sowers??? Laffey is pitching great in the bullpen, no need to take him out of there until we get some consistency out of the bullpen.
The next 5 weeks will determine if were buyers or sellers. I'd still like to improve the minor league starting pitching. If lee gets traded, we need to get some guys up here in the next 2 years to replace him.Carmona isn't an ace or number 2 at this point.

It was sad when I checked the score and it was something like 9-0 in the 5th and I was hoping that would be enough...

That kind of sounds like an Oriole game even after school....

I'll admit that I'm a pretty fair weather Indians fan. I try to check the scores when I remember, but I don't really follow it like I would if they were doing better. But, if they get above .500, then I've been a die hard Indians fan my whole life.
I am unfamiliar with this feeling of optimism

Starting pitching is coming around,...
I still feel for Wedge, but it is what it is.

Take my advice - get involved with a local Little League team coaching. My son's team is 10-12 yr olds and it's so much more interesting than the Tribe.
Better seats too

Nice to see a few innings where we put the ball in play and played "gap to gap" baseball...
Loved that inning last night where the 2nd baseman made an error to prolong the inning, and we took advantage of it for 3 more runs! Now that is good baseball. Capitalizing on the other teams mistakes..

lol, nice Yeah, I still watch when I can. I admittedly watch the NBA playoffs more when they're on, and the CAVS pretty much solely when they aren't kicking ass, but I still watch the Tribe. They started slow last year before they went on a terror. If they repeat, hopefully they don't leave themselves in a hole too deep to climb out of.

1st things 1st, Love the thread title! Classic! Tribe is looking alot better. Finally Peralta is playing 3rd base, He should stay there! Asdrubal looks great at SS. Tribe bats are staying hot, 5-0 in the 3rd. Wedge just got tossed arguing the call that Derosa was safe at home, He was!

The Indians are about to blow a 7-0 lead...
It's now 7-6 with Rays on 2nd and 3rd with one out. Man, this bullpen really needs a HUGE lead to close a game out.
Man, I'll never understand why the offense forgets how to hit once the other team starts their comeback. It's as if they go into the prevent or something.

Gark needs a hit here.... they gave away this game. We need a run, not that a 1 run lead makes me feel good anyways.
Can't believe how bad they blew it. Well, I could actually...

I wrote this a month ago, and nothing has changed: Quote:
Our relief pitching is atrocious. Atrocious. Unless we can score 22 every night, this team will not finish above .500 with the current pitching staff. It's a joke.
As soon as our starter sits, if we're not ahead by 5 runs, I assume it's a loss.
This has been true night in, night out. We have to score at least ten runs a game to even compete. I've never seen anything like it. Worst relievers ever.

Man, this game was flat brutal by the bullpen. I feel like a highschool team can do better than this. Does anyone else wonder why people are playing different positions, what is going on there?(like Derosa on first)???

Did you hear Wedge call out the pitchers after the game? The Indians are cracking at all the seams.

If the object of the game was to hit the bats with the balls, our relief pitchers would be Number 1

lol, nice thread title. In about an hour I'll be watching Major League, which I haven't seen it in its entirely for years. The Indians cost me $25 last night on a Pro LIne ticket, thanks to blowing a 7-0 lead.

When the Tribe is doing well (as you already know) there is a thread on here with multiple posts about each and every single game....but when they suck ass there is a lot of cricket sounds going on, other than the "fire the manager" sort of thread.
As most know I am a Reds fan and jokingly talk smack against the Tribe but always wish them well as they are an Ohio team....I don't see them being able to make much of a run this year but did want to chime in as well on the thread title: Good job!

What kind of crap is that?! Garko hits one off the top of the wall, and they call him out because it was caught after it bounced. Helloooooo, it's not an out. The ball never went into his glove, it went straight off the top of the wall, then caught. Terrible, terrible call. We need all the help we can get, and when we get screwed, we have no shot.

Only the Tribe could have the other team screw up...have to hit their Pitcher in an AL lineup....and make it pay off for that team by allowing the pitcher to knock in runs

The only player that actually knows what he is doing is Martinez, maybe we should switch him to bullpen.
