I think everyone in the stands, press box, dugout and organization feel the same way.......however, the Indians don't have much else in the minors. They have already reached too deep to backfill for injures and poor performance. At some point, you have to hope these guys can tread water until the other guys come back. To me, that's the only place Perez can come in right now, with a big lead. Last night the ball was flying out for both teams and it blew up in our face.....oh well. Remember, we just took 2 of 3 from the Cards and have been playing rather well overall.
We need Westbrook back.

Perez needs to be taken behind the barn and put down. Wedge should just pitch starters. At least let them have a chance to get a win, even if their arms fall off. Anything is better than this pen. Anything.

There skipping Carl's start to allow him some rest since he hasn't pitched this much in a long time. Tomo Ohka will be going for us.

Cubs aren't gonna do much this year..
i have to put up with them all year...
the puffed their chests out all last year. and then when push came to shove, they blamed everything but their team. it was all woe is me, billy goats, and curses.
i got news for cubs fans, they didn't lose last year because they are cursed, they lost because they aren't really that great of a team.
and the sense of entitlement is hilarious. they thought they were gonna cart the world series trophy around because it had been exactly a hundred years.
some cleveland fans annoy me to. with the pity party, and the whining. get over it. you aren't entitled to anything.
they worship that park as if they had so many great memories in there. i mean, they never won a championship in that building. the place is a dump, i think everyone should see it once, but after that, it's kind of annoying.
i know the sox are in our division, but their fans are a little more tolerable.
well, the ones that don't run on the field and try and attack 1st base coaches and umpires that were former navy seals...

Oh Ok..
Ohko pitched pretty well last Saturday...
Unfortunately it probably won't matter cause the pen will have to come in at some point..
I am honestly baffled at how bad this pen is.. I know Perez is the whipping boy, but it really has been everyone.. there is not ONE guy in the pen that has been able to be counted on AT ANY POINT during this season...
It's just a shame.. cause if this pen was even just slightly below average, we would be 3 or 4 games better, and only sitting 4 games out of the division lead..
AL central is garbage this year..

He muffed a routine grounder to lose the game.... what a tool.
Just the way it goes when you suck big balls like we do right now.

this team actually isn't that bad, if you take away this bullpen and even put them with an ok one, it's a .500 team easily.
i have a feeling that the tribe will get back into the race for the division, but they are gonna come up short, and we can look at games like the ones they have played this week and know exactly why we didn't make the playoffs.

This team is just so frustrating to watch - I almost understand what all of you Browns fans go through.
Yikes - we're up 7 runs, and we can't get a win. Our bullpen just stinks. Seven runs should be more than enough to win.

The bullpen IS part of the team, which is beyond terrible. Thus causing us to lose games and sit in the cellar. If the bullpen was decent, I agree that'd we'd be closer to .500, but it's not, and we aren't.

I don't know what it takes to just release Perez. The dude sucks now, we already tried the minors with him, we already did the rookie league deal with Carmona, the dude sucks. Release him and just get it over with.

Indians lost on a bad hop single that got by Martinez. Lee got pulled in the 8th after giving up a single. He had 109 pitches at that point, and Wedge follows the 100 pitch rule pretty faithfully. Its one of the things I disagree with him on - these guys should be conditioned to throw 120 or even 130 pitches by this point in a season. With a 5 man rotation, they are only asked to pitch every 5th day. JMO.

Thanks Dave,...I didn't want to unnecessarily jump on EW, but he has ALWAYS had the tendency to pull too early;....Lee is a hoss. And if we're agreeing, pitch count is just like life--it's a negotiation, it's arbitrary, it's an ESTIMATE to judge on/by, and Wedge just always seems to blow the call.
As mentioned above, he's!not as bad as the talent level is low,...injuries, etc. And they're only 6.5 back (don't really care how that measures against the other Divisions).

Well, in a round about way. The team IS bad- you can't subtract our putrid bullpen from it.

not trying to, what i'm saying is that this team, outside of the bullpen is actually pretty solid, considering all the injuries and the fact that we have triple a guys and pitchers like pavano and ohka.
the bullpen is a cancer. i'm not trying to justify our record, i'm just saying the bullpen is killing this team.

Lost another one in extras to the pen..... the closer at that. The guy from the bullpen who should give you the best shot at finishing them off.
Yeah, as much as I'd like to support our team, and as close as we still are in it, this bullpen is GAWD AWFUL. Unlike last year, when we made a great run and had the best record after the All-Star break, I don't see any hope for us. Watching the late innings in an Indians game is like watching your kid getting beat up on the playground, and you can't do anything to stop it. It's sickening. Just bash their head off the sliding board a couple more times....

Hope for the Indians? I lost hope for them back in May. I still pay attention...but it's easy to forget each loss (well, I'm trying).
As far as Cleveland sports in general go, I used to be filled with hope. Now, the hope is about the size of an atom. They're still "my teams" but I've come to realize a title is out of the question. Yes, it's a defeatest attitude.....but what have we been shown to think otherwise?
Nothing.
Oh well. I'll still be pulling for them.

There's still "hope" that some other team will overpay for DeRosa.
"Hope" that some other team will give us a Bartolo-style-deal for Lee.
"Hope" that Kerry Wood starts pitching like he did last year and that the Tribe pulls another 2nd half stretch together like they have the last 2 years (someone has to tell them to do it the first half of the year though, so attendance gets better and we have more $$ to spend).
Not to mention the "hope" that we ship our bullpen to Columbus and bring up a random group from Kinston, Akron, or whereever (it'd probably end up better than what is out there right now).

Truly Historic, this pen. I've never seen anything like it. You can count on them going through three pitchers and four runs per inning. It's really kind of amazing. You'd think Wedge's grandmother could do better than this.
In all seriousness, can anyone here remember a worse bullpen in the history of baseball? Are we truly witnessing history?

WE ARE ALL WITNESSES
Yeah, it's so frustrating to watch. I've never seen one like this, that's for sure. I knew it would happen. Once they yanked Huff, I said Laroche would jack one of Herges, which he did. It's such a joke, it really is. I just can't believe that anyone can be this awful.

There really isn't.
I mean, it's a whole bullpen full of suckiness.
It's like a closet full of nothing but velour shirts. No matter which one you pick, you're still going to look stupid.

Well, Wedge continues to pressure them by pulling the starter pitching a 4 hit shutout. A 5 run lead,...that's just stupid. 1 or 2 runs, I can understand. LEAVE THE GUY out there,....

Lol... Sad but true...
Even the guys who were doing decent a few weeks ago (Aquino, Vizcaino & Herges) have joined the rest of the crew. Aquino & Vizcaino have done so bad they've both been cut and Herges looks like he's not far behind...
