I think Cheney missed the memo that he's an irrelevant failure.

The Obama administration chases his tail, thinking that keeping him in the 'forefront' is good for them. They're right, in a sense, but it makes them look foolish.

Classic tactic.

Hitler got everybody thinking about the Jews rather than pay attention to what he was doing.

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

Never have seen the show, so the humor escapes me.

At any rate...this whole thing is a distractionary issue for both sides. As far as the issue at hand - it's a moot point. We're done torturing, and no one involved is going to get prosecuted.

As far as playing the issue out for political purposes, you've got everyone pointing fingers at Cheney and Pelosi, talking in circles and hoping the issue stays relevant so no one has to talk about really pertinent issues.

And it's working.

It is a great tactic .. to bad it ain't working ... were still paying very much attention to how hes weakening our country on a weekly basis ...

my favorite part is that were suppose to believe this FBI guy who says talking with these terrorists yielded more pertinent info than torturing them ... anyone who believes that is just so naive its sad ... that just makes no sense at all ....

he expects us to believe that if u torture someone it makes them shut down but if u talk to them they spout info like a faucet does water ... and on top of that all the info they got through talking was accurate and good info ... but the torture stuff was tainted ..

hmmm .. guess were really really stupid for not knowing that to begin with ...

It actually makes a great deal of sense...

...then again, how does one make sense to someone who says things like 'I hope the following people die in a terrorist attack'?

Oh please Phil, you sound just like the people you bitch about by taking something out of context and then getting your knickers in a bunch.

Why do you have such a problem with what he said? If you are so sure you are right about these "cats" who's rights and well being you care so much about, why would would you be upset about someone suggesting that you put your money where your mouth is?

Ok, here's the full context...

Quote:

I just wish we could round up all the people that weaken our country like Pelosi and BinBoma and folks that think like Darden and PhilDawson and stick them in one place and have them be the target .. I WISH THIS ON NO ONE ..... let me be PERFECTLY CLEAR .. I WISH THIS ON NO ONE ....

but if it does have to happen (and it will) .... I wish the ones that want these terrorists to have "rights" and be treated with some sort of "code of ethics" and be treated "fairly" could be seperated and be there targets ..... since its folks like them that should be blamed .. they should be the ones to feel the wrath of those they WANT PROTECTED ..

Doesn't sound any less retarded*.

Because it's utterly ignorant...and it's funny.

Being killed in a terrorist attack because I oppose unreliable torture tactics is putting my money where my mouth is? Really?

If I said something that dumb, I'd expect it to be thrown in my face for the remainder of the discussion.

It was completely stupid and utterly hilarious. That's Tailgate gold right there.

So Phil, if we just sit down and talk to these terrorists like men they will tell us what they don't want to tell us. If we torture them and collaberate it with other terrorists then its not trustworthy info. I don't know but if you and your PC say so, it must be true.......I think you should sit down with the guy that stabbed a guard in the eye with a pen and open your hearts together. These guys are reasonable people , right?

According to many of our top interrogators...yes.

And to use your simple rhetoric to counter...so if we just play Van Halen real loud and put caterpillars near these terrorists they will tell us what they don't want to tell us?

Another reflection of the rhetoric...if a terrorist was torturing you in order to gain knowledge on where you wife and children were...would you crack?

Mancow Waterboarded, Admits It's Torture

"It is way worse than I thought it would be"

By RYAN POLLYEA

And so it went Friday morning when WLS radio host Erich "Mancow" Muller decided to subject himself to the controversial practice of waterboarding live on his show.

Mancow decided to tackle the divisive issue head on -- actually it was head down, while restrained and reclining.

"I want to find out if it's torture," Mancow told his listeners Friday morning, adding that he hoped his on-air test would help prove that waterboarding did not, in fact, constitute torture.

The debate over whether waterboarding constitutes torture reached a fever pitch this week as re-ignited claims that Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) knew as early as 2002 about waterboarding techniques being used, and former Vice President Dick Cheney and President Barack Obama gave "dueling speeches" Thursday.

Listeners had the chance to decide whether Mancow himself or his co-host, Chicago radio personality Pat Cassidy, would undergo the interrogation method during the broadcast. The voters ultimately decided Mancow would be the one donning the soaked towel and shackles, and at about 8:40 a.m., he entered a small storage room next to his studio that was compared to a "dungeon" by Cassidy.

"The average person can take this for 14 seconds," Marine Sergeant Clay South answered, adding, "He's going to wiggle, he's going to scream, he's going to wish he never did this."

With a Chicago Fire Department paramedic on hand, Mancow was placed on a 7-foot long table, his legs were elevated, and his feet were tied up.

Turns out the stunt wasn't so funny. Witnesses said Muller thrashed on the table, and even instantly threw the toy cow he was holding as his emergency tool to signify when he wanted the experiment to stop. He only lasted 6 or 7 seconds.

"It is way worse than I thought it would be, and that's no joke,"Mancow said, likening it to a time when he nearly drowned as a child. "It is such an odd feeling to have water poured down your nose with your head back...It was instantaneous...and I don't want to say this: absolutely torture."

"I wanted to prove it wasn't torture," Mancow said. "They cut off our heads, we put water on their face...I got voted to do this but I really thought 'I'm going to laugh this off.' "

Last year, Vanity Fair writer Christopher Hitchens endured the same experiment -- and came to a similar conclusion. The conservative writer said he found the treatment terrifying, and was haunted by it for months afterward.

"Well, then, if waterboarding does not constitute torture, then there is no such thing as torture," Hitchens concluded in the article.

Thanks, mac.... seriously. I didn't figure it would look as if the guy was at a picnic.
Maybe he's kind of a wussy, though. hahaha

"You look pale and shaken...."

I wonder if the 9/11 jumpers looked pale and shaken when they had to step out of windows and fall to their deaths. What do 'ya think?

Looked like a fake set up to me. They held his nose the entire way....that is why he was concerned the guy was holding his nose too high rather than closing the nostrils.

Mancow is a punk who deserves 2 slaps in the face.

Fake demonstration.

Hahaha....so you get some info that you didn't want to hear, and you're immediate reaction is that several marines, and a radio program must be lying their asses off.

You should read Christopher Hitchens experiences, it's illuminating:

Very long, so I'm not going to destroy the thread by copying it up here.

That I didn't want to hear??

Dude...I would have done it right...I would have tied his hands, and not stopped for at least 10-15 seconds until after he wanted it to stop.

Might as well give him the experience if he is going to say he did it.

Get the guy choking a little bit if you are going to film it and use it as some proof we shouldn't do it.....

I really don't get these media types taking part in this. It's like someone throwing out the first pitch at a game and then telling people they've played in the majors.

It proves nothing, and only serves to further muddle an already ridiculously distracted debate.
