Too late on that one. Except the Indians. I don't care about them. And Clay, I'm sorry but you didn't teach me anything.
My uncle taught me it all when I was two. I swear you two would be best friends.

To celebrate my newfound HoF status, I get my wisdom teeth out Friday. That should be fun.

I have a computer in my office that is in front of me pretty much all day, but I won't go on as long as I'm working. I try to keep good work habits and set an example for everyone else.
If I'm screwing off, I can't hold my staff accountable if they do the same.

Listen to the teacher!
If I could go back in time, I would tell myself to not pick a team.
I never really picked an NHL team....and I enjoy each and every game I watch.
It's too late for me though. As for my daughter, unless a Cleveland teams wins one soon, I refuse to burden her with Cleveland sports fandom (or fandoom).
I saw a guy the other day at school wearing a Patriots hat. Living in Pittsburgh, of course I had to ask him how that came about. He said that his whole family consisted of Steeler fans so he decided to rebel I guess. He then said that he also used to like the Cowboys until their recent misfortunes...
So that goes to prove that not EVERY Steeler fan is a bandwagon fan...some of them like losers like the Patriots.

It depends. I had it done, and I thought it was fairly easy.
I had the dentist take out 2, and let's just say he probably should have sent me to an oral surgeon, because it took him forever. I was awake, so I can tell what he was doing. And he kept twisting and pulling..... I swelled up a lot more that time around. But still, I just took some Tylenol and put on some ice. The pain wasn't bad at all like people said it was.
The second time for the other 2, he sent me to an oral surgeon. He asked me if I would like to be knocked out. I asked how long does it take to get them out?
5 to 10 minutes. I'm like, why knock me out if that's all it takes? They were out within 5 minutes and it was a piece of cake. Wanted to write me a script for a pain med, which I denied. Took like a dose or 2 of Tylenol, had a bit of swelling. No big deal.
You've been through worse with your GI problems, Deep. I wouldn't sweat it.

Why?
I don't need chemicals to get me high. If I'm not in that much pain, I don't need to take it.
Now when I had kidney stones, give me everything you got. That crap hurts like a mother...

Yeah, I had a kidney stone once and they had to give me morphine at the hospital. I dunno, I like to have percs available for menstrual cramps and such (too much info, I know )...so passing them up when the doc offers them is incomprehensible to me.

I have always had a high pain tolerance...it is just a state of mind that with discipline you can usually block...

3 things in my life completely disproved my well thought of high threshold of pain .....
Kidney Stone.
Torn Rotator Cuff with spurs and a pinched nerve.
3 bad disks in my back along with a pinched nerve.
I broke my knuckle when I was younger (and a manager at a pizza shop, who used his hands repeatedly every day) and didn't miss a beat.
Either I was tougher .... or stupider in those days. lol

Yeah, I can tolerate the pain. But like Ytown said, kidney stones are on a whole 'nother level. You have NO idea until you actually have one.
I've never had any major surgery, just the 2 sets of wisdom teeth out, and I refused to be put out for it and told the doc not to prescribe me anything. You feel the pain, but you can tolerate it. Or at least I could. And I'm not going to take some narcotic just to take it. I've snapped the ligament in my finger falling off the bed and had my finger swell up the size of a sausage. It hurt when I did it, but after that, I don't even think I took a Tylenol.
You can take it. Like you said, you can tolerate pain up to certain levels if you are in the right mindset.

I had 2 wisdom teeth pulled when I was 20. Just a local anesthesia - a numbing shot. No pain med after, and really it wasn't anything. A little sore for 2 days, so I just had ice cream, etc.
On day 3 when it felt fine? BAM, man, Wendy's - 2 bacon double cheeseburgers for me!! (actually, the pain that made me have them taken out was worse than the pain from having them out).
Broke my thumb when I was 14. My dad wouldn't let me go to the doctor, cause he said I was a "wimp". 3 weeks later, when I still couldn't catch a football or throw one, he told my mom to take me to the doc. Broke, and healing.

I have a pinky that I'm pretty sure I broke playing some basketball when I got swatted The guy swatted the ball like 30 feet, and took my pinky with it. I just let it go, but the thing is a little crooked. When I open my hand, the pinky goes out to the side. And the wisdom teeth really wasn't bad. People make it sound miserable, but like you said, the only misery is not being able to go to Wendy's for a few days.

BTW, ask PPE about the special "hall of fame" members portion of the board. Then again, I think you have to be over 18 for it. It gets a little blue...
I wasn't aware there was a "hall of fame" portion of the board. Seeing as how I'm not extremely far away from this, would somone be able to explain to me what goes on in there?
On second thought maybe I better not ask.

Boy, just about anything you want to happen goes on there. GM even has some black and white movies from his middle age years - there's a lot of free stuff - tickets to games, signed merchandise for next to nothing, all kinds of fun stuff. Post more, then join us in the party room.

First, you just got to that level. Second, you don't get invited. If you've posted enough to get to HOF status, and obviously you have, you should've been getting the clues as to how to get in. Heck, it took me till about 4500 posts before I decoded it. Keep posting - it'll make sense soon.

There's actually PERKS to being a HOF'er?
discount drinks? cigar bar? cheap hookers?
Man.... if I'd know that, I'd have spent less time on those War & Peace-length epics of mine, and stuck to pithy quips.
And to think... all this time I've been bangin my heart out on this keyboard, the party's been goin' on right under my nose! (Thought I smelled the 'El Supremo' once or twice...)
what a rube I've been.
Time to...

Good luck Friday....I had all four removed at once. My recovery is something I don't wish on anyone. Hopefully you'll say it was "no big deal" in a couple weeks.
