For anybody who uses it -- have you been having trouble with it for the past two weeks?

I know that free web-based emails are bound to have glitches every now and then, but this has gone on way too long.

I dunno, ask him.

Okay, let me rephrase the question -- is anybody that uses Firefox having trouble with Yahoo mail?

I use Firefox. It's strange....I have heard of other people having problems with yahoo mail though. I might get a glitch every now and then, but it never lasts more than an hour or so.

Here's something even stranger -- just now after accessing it again, it's actually working for the very first time in weeks....right after starting this thread.

ok, so I received an email this morning from a friend (Yahoo user) who pretty much never emails me, and I was cc'd in the email along with 10 other people. The email only had a link, in it, no subject, so i clicked on it and it was an advertising link to "make a thousand dollars a day", it had something to do with casino games, I stopped reading after the first paragraph then responded.

is this a joke or are you serious?

she preoceeded to respond, I didnt send that, but all the people it went to were in my contacts?

curious, im not sure if its a virus or what, but for some reason spam emails are being sent to people in her contact list without her knowledge

The only negative that I know of is that it delays delivery purposefully of some mail.

You'll notice your Inbox has unread mail but it's not at the top of the Inbox.

They're in a partnership with Goodmail Systems that can put you on their "white list" for a fee. It guarantees rapid delivery of mail to users.

It's pretty underhanded if you're a legitimate company emailing a large, homegrown database, like I was.

Sounds like a virus to me, but one of the computer geeks on here can tell you for certain.

Better do a system restore while you can. That's a virus that's been going around for months.

Now for the serious answer ......

The Yahoo Messenger plugin has been known to cause issues in Firefox. Ditto for Firebug for Yahoo mail.

Do you have either of these installed?

I use Firefox, and no problems here, though I only check it about every 3-4 days as the only thing I have it for is I needed it for the fantasy BB and FB leagues I join each year.

Why would you do a system restore? That's just terrible advice.

Wow ..... invest in and maintain a good virus scan program. Actually, many ISPs will give you one for free with their service. (especially high speed internet providers)

Install and run the program ... and clean your system. (if you're even infected) Some ISPs pre-screen emails for viruses these days.

I've had a lot of random problems for the last 2 months. This includes the browser crashing, inability to reply to emails, inability to read emails, etc... I've written them a couple times, no replies. I'm tempted to leave yahoo after 10+ years.

Yep....once. The layout / text was formatted like something from the 90's or something. I logged out and back in and all was good.

Firefox always.

I usually use POP Peeper to check the multiple e-mail accounts I have. Very nice free application. The Flock web browser, which is a mod of Firefox, is also handy for such things. I think Flock was particularly created for social networking (of which I have no interest in), but multiple e-mail and vid hosting sites are a bit easier to navigate with it.
