Went to town square yesterday and went into the yard house for some draft's they are know'n for having the world's largest selction of draft beer.had my usal sincity ale, a Warstein pilsner, and found a new fav. from Belgium called Delirium Tremen's anyone ever had this? ...guess it was voted #1 in the world or so said the bar tender  What are some of your fav's? I know we have done this before but this was fresh on my mind

Any wheat beer ( Paulaner) is good for me . I like Pete's Wicked Ale Strawberry Blonde for the summer and a local microbrew has a nice blueberry ale ( tastes so much better than it sounds ).

If you can find it, try Skullsplitter Ale from the Orkneys in Scotland. It's a powerful ale.

Red Stripe / Dos Equis I enjoy both. The Red Stripe I'm talking about is the Red Stripe you get in Caymens or Jamaica, not the type we buy here in Ohio. The Red Stripe from the south has a clean smooth taste, the type we buy in Ohio has a not so great after taste. The best two beer I've ever had in my life was in the Caymen Islands in a beach hut bar on a 95 degree day. Two cold refreshing Red stripe beers...overlooking the carabean, now thats life Stay thirsty my friends....

newcastle is my favorite
glb dortmunder is a close second..
labatt's is the best after you just got done playing hockey,
i haven't tried a whole ton of different beers, but some that have been mentioned in this thread i may try...
oh, and i love the samuel smith stuff... may actually pick up one of their specialty beers for this weekend.

I have!!!! its ridiculously strong...GREAT beer though... if you like Delerium try to find a beer called La Fin Du Monde... Its made in Quebec (French  ) tbut they do sell it here in Cleveland though....very very good beer Also there is a Brazilian Lager that just became my favorite called Brahma very very good berr...keep an eye out for them

I've been on a big Belgium beer kick the past year (I don't drink much but when I do, it's the good stuff). It started with that show Three Sheets (via Hulu.com). This comedian travels all over the world to explore the different drinking cultures and gets crushed every show in the process (greatest job ever). Well, his first show was in Belgium....check it out. Anyway, I've been drinking Duvel (my current fav) & Chimay. I've seen the Delirium Tremen's at my local Whole Foods and I've been tempted but haven't made the jump.....next time I'm there, I'll do so under your recommendation. Seeing is how I'm old now (36  ), I don't really want to drink 13 beers to get drunk. I like drinking these strong 9-10% beers. I only have to drink 4 to get a very nice buzz going....and 6 to get drunk. I feel a lot less bloated and they actually taste good. No more crap beer.

Punch, pick up a 4-pack of Old Rasputin.
I had a Delerium Tremens on tap at Bier Markt a couple years ago on several recommendations and I was underwhelmed (mostly because I'd already had several beers in me, and I was hoping that it really was going to be "the best beer in the world"). I've always meant to give it another shot, though, but I just never have.
My beer choice if I'm at a bar depends on how much I feel like spending that night, but I typically drink whites/wheats/hefes in the warmer months. Weihenstephaner, Paulaner, Blue Moon, Hoegaarden all work for me. Drank heavier stuff through the winter. If all else fails I'll drink a Red Stripe (the cheap beer with the premium price). I'm not above a King Cobra if it comes down to it.
I have some Bells Two-Hearted Ale in the fridge right now.

La Fin Du Monde is really really good. I love the Champagne style wrapping for it too, its fun. Kinda like Negra Modela...
but my favorite, is Dead Guy Ale...I'm not sure who makes it, but I've had it twice at the Blue Tusk in Syracuse NY, and bought it from a beer store in Binghamton.
also, a beer company in Ithaca (possibly saranac?) makes a beer called Casca Zilla thats very very good. Real hoppy and delicious.
Additionally...recently i just ventured to a beer store in Binghamton and found Ballantine XXX and Black Label Beer hahaha
Also...personal favorites that cost very little (good for us college kids, well, recent graduates rather)

Summer beer of the moment is Leinenkugels Summer Shandy.
If I go to a bar to drink a lot, Miller Lite of Blue Light in a bottle is usually my drink of choice, although I through a Dortmunder in from time to time. If I'm really feeling the magic, I'll ask for a 24 oz. can of Pabst Blue Ribbon, just to do it.
Have about 36 Great Lakes X-mas Ale's stored away, ready to be opened for an X-mas in July party I'm having next month. It's wonderful, as is it's seasonal brother, Conways Irish Ale.

At the bar near my place we just got Flying Dog Pale Ale and Hoegaarden on draft---been drinking a lot of those. Actually had a Black and Blonde the other day with Hoegaarden and Guinness---interesting combo!!
My fav's are in no particular order:
Sierra Nevada (Pale, Porter, Barleywine)
La Fin Du Monde
Chimay (any label)
Sam Adams Cherry Wheat (in the summer time)
Hoegaarden

Abita the strawberry lager is slowly creeping up my favorite list. I also really like James Squire Golden Ale, Killian's, and Harp.

Drink it all the time also, one of my favorate, for me all the flavor beer, or wheaty barly beers are fine & I enjoy them from time to time, But for me I'm a average beer guy, give me a beer, bud light, PBR, blats, red white & blue, moosehead, miller, coors, I dont care, just love a regular type beer.

I can drink "regular" beer. However, it's like eating chicken wings without the hot sauce.

Normally I drink Keystone Light, Michelob Ultra, or Coors Light. I sacrifice some flavor for fewer calories.
If I drink a regular beer it's Landshark Lager, Coors, or Miller Genuine Draft.
I'm so used to the light beers that anything too heavy just tastes too bitter to me.

Same...although I do enjoy Bud Heavy on occasion. Leinenkugel's Sunset Wheat is a great beer too. My favorite heavy beer is Sam Adams Cherry Wheat though.
I like Great Lakes Christmas ale...but Thirsty Dog Christmas Ale is better.

Not picking on you specifically Ammo, but I have never understood the Bud Light thing. It tastes Horrible---it barely even resembles beer, and honestly, I would refer to it as a "beer-flavored drink" rather than an actual beer. And yet, people go so far as to drink Mich Ultra, or Miller 64. At that point why even drink beer. I like to taste my beer. I have also found that often, my hangovers are a lot less severe when I get wasted off a beer that has some substance--rather than some watered-down piswasser.
If you are drinking beer---the last thing that you should be worried about is the amount of calories that are in your super-light barleypop.
I wish to wash my Irish wristwatch......

Some of us are at the age, when we have to watch our calarie intake, not by choice but by doctors orders, you'll find out as you get older, the pounds are harder to come off. So we have to watch our calorie intake but we still like to drink beer and may want a few.
You'll be finding this out in a few or 20 years from now.

For those interested in great beer this is my favorite American producer. One of my favorites is Hazelnut Brown Nectar. It's a stronger version of Newcastle and it's wonderful, but all of their beers are very very good.
And to those that consider drinking Pabst please remember that they shut down all their breweries and fired all their employees. The company is a dozen people in an office park and they would put a shiv in your mother if it meant another penny in the hopper. All their beer is produced by Miller. They're just living off the name and they give absolutely nothing back to the community.

Thats sad about Pabst...theyre so fun. I have a 6er of pounders in my fridge right now too. ugh. I mean ill enjoy those but, boo...
Rogue...thats right, I always forget that that is the name of the brewing company, I always just figure its a part of the name.
Ill have to look more into them.
I forgot to mention, especially for you lighter beer drinkers which ive read a number of you are. Dundee's Honey Brown is delicious.

So when I'm drinking a Pabst, which is almost never, I'm atually drinking a Miller (not the original receipe)? Maybe I'd need more info regarding how they sold the name....maybe the brand was broke and was going under, they sold the name to preserve the history. Or maybe, they saw a huge offer and took the cash. Either way, it was their decision. I would assume they were going broke, look at all the beers we Americans drink nowadays....it's not the original 12-15 like in the 70's and 80's. There are too many too count.....a beer company like Pabst can't survive in that market.

I don't much drink either one,but I have seen many Coors cans in the 30 stone packs.

The very very short version is that Paul Kalmanovitz bought up many of the historical beer brands then depreciated the assets and sold the land. It was a very calculated move which made him many millions. He has since died but the companies remain in his trust.
He put thousands of people out of work. It's a very sad story.
Here's a portion of his wiki page that describes his method.
Kalmanovitz's plans to make a profit off Falstaff were not to turn the company around and reestablish its brand strength in the market, but rather to cut costs drastically throughout. The biggest change was the advertising budget where Kalmanovitz eliminated all types of marketing. Falstaff's market share continued to slide, resulting in plants closing and employees out of work. Falstaff was profitable for the S&P Corporation, but at a cost to works and the communities around the breweries. Kalmanovitz acquired an ailing brewery, fired the corporate personnel, reduced budgets, sold off equipment, stopped plant maintenance, and eliminated product quality control. Kalmanovitz established a standard with Falstaff that was repeated as he purchased Stroh's, National Bohemian, Olympia, Pearl, and Pabst.

Keystone tastes awful to me yet I can drink Coors Light.

I agree, except i think you mean amheiser busch bevarian light and bud light. lol.
For me, I really like, Landshark and the Czech Beers.
People don't give Czech Republic (the creators of the Pilsner (Budweiser type) enough credit. You can buy some here, but for some reason it's better over there. My favorite was Gambrinus, and it usually was a dollar or dollar fifty at the bar there. But Staropramen, Pilsner Urquel, Budvar (the original Budweiser), Kovalicze, they were great beers. Gambrinus was my favorite though. There's a reason that country has always been number one in beer per capita until recently (Belgium) and if you would want to count it (Bavaria which has always ruled all). They know what beer is all about, and they're working to take back that number one spot as we speak, hehe.
So yeah, American Beers: Prob Land Shark, but when it comes down to it, Gambrinus all the way
And if you want a beer party, Hofbrau House in Munich, and Hofbrau tent at Octoberfest! That's where the greatest beer is at, the Hofbrau House

I think I actually saw that beer out west before, but didn't try it.
I remember posting that beer poll back in the day..... reminds me of it.
My favorite beer is Honey Brown, followed by Yeungling.
I saw a banana bread beer the other day at Giant Eagle, almost considered picking it up until I saw the price for just one large beer.
