LOS ANGELES (AFP) – Pop legend Michael Jackson was rushed to a hospital in Los Angeles Thursday after suffering a heart attack, reports said, but it was not immediately possible to confirm his condition. The Los Angeles Times citing local fire department officials reported Jackson, 50, was unconscious when paramedics arrived at his home in Holmby Hills before being taken to hospital. TMZ.com celebrity news website said Jackson suffered a cardiac arrest but the singer's father Joe Jackson was unable to confirm details when contacted by E! Online celebrity news site. Jackson's manager Tohme E. Tohme was not immediately available for comment at his office after being contacted by AFP. Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Devin Gales would not confirm Jackson's identity, but said paramedics responded to a call from an address corresponding to Jackson's at 12:21 p.m and the person was taken to UCLA Medical Center. UCLA hospital officials were not immediately available for comment.

Christine Kellett June 26, 2009 - 7:47AM Pop star Michael Jackson has died after suffering a heart attack, it has been reported.
Media reports have said the star, 50, was taken to hospital in Los Angeles after he was found not breathing in his Holmby Hills home earlier.
Celebrity website TMZ said 911 operators received an emergency call about 12.12pm local time (5.12am AEST).
"We're told when paramedics arrived Jackson had no pulse and they never got a pulse back," the website reported.
Jackson is believed to have gone into cardiac arrest and paramedics performed CPR on him en route to UCLA hospital.
The website quoted family members as saying the Thriller singer was in "really bad shape."
"We just got off the phone with Joe Jackson, Michael's dad, who says 'he is not doing well.'' the website had earlier reported.
Jackson was reportedly planning a comeback and was living in Los Angeles while rehearsing a series of 50 sold-out shows in London, the LATimes has reported.

Local radio reporting that he dies; MSN.com has an update as of 2 mins. prior to this stating he's in a coma.
Not sure if he's still with us or not at this moment. If he is alive, arriving without a pulse is bad no matter how you slice it. After about 3-5 minutes, there's not much chance for him at all. Even if they got his heart going, the damage is probably done.
That's not cool. Never thought he was a pedophile. I personally think he was messed up and really did love kids but his wanting to be so close to them led to lots of speculation.

He was just a messed up kid.
If a person can be born with homosexual traits, a person can be born a pedophile. I don't think one wakes up one morning and decides to have sex with a child. It is simply a sexual deviation some people have.
Unfortunately for them and their victims, it just doesn't work in any form of society since their sexual attraction is with people far to young to have any concept of what is happening.
Please note...I am not comparing homosexuality to pedophilia other than it is a predisposition that I don't think people have much choice in what sexually attracts and arouses them.
They need to be removed from society, no doubt, but you shouldn't hate them. They didn't ask for that when they came in to this world. For the vast majority, I don't think it is any sort of choice at all. It's just a crossing of what we consider normal wires.
Human sexuality is a strange thing at times.

I mean, have you seen them? They are white. The mom is allegedly white of at least 2, but there was 1 I'm pretty sure reading about where he said the mother he picked out was black. And none of the kids that I saw or remember seeing looked black or a mix.

Wow, some pretty sad and surprising news. He may have been troubled or not had the best personal life of late, but the music he made was outstanding and touched a lot of peoples lives.
I liked Michael back in the 80's. Haven't really paid any attention to him in the last 10 years. But for some reason I am really saddened by this. Weird.
I think it might be how fast it happened. Someone with cancer, a horrible disease, you kind of expect death in some cases, but a heart attack it catches you by surprise.
How in the world can you fix something... If you don't know how it's supposed to work?

Please don't misread me. I'm saying I don't believe he was a pedophile period. I believe he loved children to the point where most adults find it very strange (including me). I just don't believe he ever harmed or abused a child....it's per speculation.
I believe he did have pedophilia. I believe he did have sex with kids. His money got him out of it, though. LIke, "here's a million bucks, keep your mouth shut".......kind of thing.
Sorry, you do not have unknown kids come to your house and sleep with you, in your bed - as an adult - and then go on record and say "no kid has accused me of anything". He was a kid loving pedophile. No 2 ways about it. He was boinking kids and paying their parents.
I'm very very sad right now because of this. All the BS aside, he truly was a incredible performer and could be considered my generations Elvis. He had a hell of a impact on my childhood. I will miss him.

I'm like really sad... Michael Jackson to me is like... to me he is music.. the definition of music. I grew up on him. I had an I'm BAD t-shirt when I was like 5... probably still have it somewhere. The only doll I ever had in my life was a michael jackson doll. His voice is legendary. His music is legendary.
Man... When I heard he passed away.. I was like what!!!?? Michael Jackson can't die!! But he is human.. and we all have to pass when it is our time...
I talked to my mom, and she was sad to hear it.. And just hopes that he had his heart right with God.
Michael Jackson... I will miss you.. The world will miss you...
Or else he was a rich man that had money that other parents took advantage of due to his odd behaviour. How come no kids have grown up and accused him of anything? I've seen interviews where some of the kids have commented that looking back it seems odd the way he like to be close to kids but no one has come out and said he molested them.
