Does anyone have Medicare Insurance Part A&B and use a supplemental insurance?

This is a Multiple Sclerosis case although fairly mild versus what u might see at the Mellon Center at the Cleveland Clinic. We THANK GOD everytime we go there every 6 months for MRI's that we aren't in the position many of these folks are.

We're looking for a Supplement to A&B of Medicare to help ease costs.

Anyone know of this?

Thanks.

You definitely want to buy a Medicare supplement. Part A and B are not adequate when you look at what's actually covered. There are a number of options to choose from, so you want to consult with an insurance professional who specializes in individual health insurance and medicare supplements. The nice thing about medicare supplements are that the prices are the same regardless of health conditions, and you cannot be denied.

Disclaimer - Not intended as professioinal advice (I am licensed to sell it, but never have. I know enough to know you need a supplement. I also know that it is illegal for me to describe to you just how poor the coverage is that's afforded automatically under A&B, as it is considered a scare tactic. )

My mother has Anthem's program and it's been very good for her, and is relatively inexpensive.

Of course, now most of her prescriptions fall under the $4 program at WalMart, so tht helps as well.

Here is a link to the medicare.gov website with comparisons of plans, etc. Hope that gives you some insight.

Thanks Heat...

Y...Totally missed that site...Yesterday I did a "Search" for Supplemental Ins and I got bombarded with phone calls. I own a business and my phone rang I swear 40 times.

Problem was virtually every single call was for Medical Ins and had nothing to do with Supplements to A&B.

I'll scan that site. Thanks.

My mother in law uses the supplemental insurance offered throught AARP.. I believe it's offered by United Healthcare.

She seems to like it a lot..

You're welcome. I would mention that you want to definitely work through an agent. As I said, there are a number of options that you can choose from and you need someone to ask you the right questions to lead you in the direction of the plan that is the most beneficial and cost effective. Find someone in your hometown that you can actually sit accross from. The price won't be any different, and it's nice to see the face and know the name of the person who takes care of you. Try calling your home and auto agent, or your life insurance agent. If they don't do it themselves, they will know who to refer you to.
