well we got another one down...this should mean we will get veikune signed pretty soon i would imagine
i assume the dback signings will come in a package since they are so close together at the same position...and the same goes for the two wr's
then we just gotta worry about mack

Yeah, and we still have a little while to go. I have a feeling we'll start seeing the later round guys really start falling into place, which greatly helps the negotiations. The later 1st round guys will start signing soon, too, which will help with Mack.

Probably not true, but it almost feels as if things are going smoother with GK and EM at the helm in terms of draft pick signings. We hear nothing at all, then out of the blue, someone signs...
No media stories..

What day do rookies report? Do you think we will have all the rookies but Mack in camp on time?

I believe rookies report July 24 and everyone else July 31. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Could be the reason too that they are not signed yet... One agent may want something more than the other... even if they are drafted around the same pick.. and are the same position...

So has there been any talk about him doing anything other than playing special teams since he was drafted? All I remember is media speculation immediately after the pick that he would be a nickel linebacker with Jackson. Anything more concrete from OTAs? From interviews/pressers?
Yes, I'm still a little bitter about him over Follett.

Isn't it pathetic how much better the lions' LB corps is than ours?

Outside of Ernie Sims, who do they have? They have Julian Peterson, who isn't a slouch, but he also ain't what he used to be. Larry Foote isn't terrible, but he's not getting any younger.
They have rookie Follett, rookie DeAndre Levy, Curtis Gatewood (who just doesn't strike much fear into my heart), Cody Spencer, Darnell Bing, Jordon Dizon and Spenser Smith.
We might not have a much better lineup, but it isn't worse than that, IMO.

You must be joking. That's a very solid LB corps, easily better than our group.
It just goes to show that even the bottom third has some talent in certain position groups.

I've read on kffl that... (I doubt it, but I've read it).
As much as I want him... He probably wouldn't make it here either... We are actually kind of deep at LB... especially adding Maiva and Veikune..
not to mention he would be a rookie who missed out of BROWNS camp...

Well, if that's the case, that just goes to show how much I pay attention to the Lions LB corps. Hell, I could care less about everyone else's LB corps. What matters to me is if our LB corps plays well.

We seem to be going the back end route on signing our rookies.
3 6th round picks....Davis, Carey signed 1 4th rounder....Triple A - signed
Next up our 3 2nd rounders and our #1
I got a feeling Francies is looking for just a 3 year contract (with no CBA in hand) I think we are looking to sign all for 4 year contracts.

Good too see some rookies signing. I would be surprised if we had any substantial holdouts.

Good to get these out of the way. This is one I am anxious to see on thew field. Should open the rest of negotiations up a wee bit more. I am starving for some more media coverage meself. Go Browns!

I hope that happens - I have him on ignore so I won't see when it's gone. I just couldn't stand the assault of that freakish pic all over the place,

For now I think he plays special teams really well.
Then when he's ready he takes over for Barton.
I think Kaluka will really surprise some people. I liked him just as much as the other three USC linebackers that came out this year.

May I ask why you liked him so much?

Well I live in Southern California for and all the USC games are on TV. So I watched him play a lot his senior year, it just seemed like he was always in on the plays and never stopped working.
Just seems like a hard working dude who won't stop until he is starting, then still won't stop.
