With the signing of Matt Barnes, Mickael Pietrus' minutes will likely get squeezed this season.

The Magic are now deep on the wings with Vince Carter, Rashard Lewis and Barnes. J.J. Redick will also get limited minutes. Keep an eye on training camp to see how the lineup and minutes will shake out, but for now downgrade Pietrus.

Free agent Matt Barnes and the Magic have agreed in principal to a two-year deal.

Barnes' agent, Aaron Goodwin, confirmed the deal early Tuesday morning. "He has agreed to a two-year deal, and I believe that Dwight's (Howard) recruitment of him truly sealed the deal," Goodwin said in a text to the Orlando Sentinel. Barnes could start at small forward for the Magic, but it depends on whether they choose to go with Brandon Bass or Rashard Lewis at power forward.

ESPN.com is reporting that Matt Barnes has agreed to a two-year deal with the Magic.

If Barnes signs with the Magic, he could have a shot at starting at either forward position. The Magic depth chart is a bit of a mess, with depth at nearly every position. Regardless of whether or not Barnes starts, he's sure to crush any value that Mickael Pietrus had.
