yep, another season of Browns football is right on track .

lets do this thing

I know I'm tired of it. Year after year it's the same crap. The apathy from people I've spoken with is very, very sad. Nobody seems to care much or believe that this team will be worth a darn. Yeah, bring it. Can't wait.

We haven't had one full day of training camp and you are worried about someone that is merely "Threatening" to sit out.. and we DO have a #1 QB, he just hasn't been named yet.

Yo, BallPeen! Hand transplants are tricky and require rehab. No truth to the rumor that is involved here at all. But the wrist bone is connected to the attitude bone. Delicate stuff. Looks like he has missed parts of about all we want out of him. Probably no reason to panic yet, just like BE's assurance last year.

You would think given what happened with Edwards last year that the light would go off in his head.

A year that if he wants to make top dollar in his next contract he has to perform at max level.

A basketball injury? On top of being spiked barefoot.

His entire off season should have been devoted to being in the best shape possible and searching for solutions on concentration.

Players who want it bad reach out to the greats for knowledge. Fitzgerald's camp. Asking guys like Chris Carter and Jerry Rice what can I do to get better?

Maybe he is of the opinion he is great and doesn't need instruction from others.

I don't know what he is like personally but his actions, gossip, and reading between the lines of what other players have insinuated ( not naming names type of remarks that clearly point to Edwards) point to a self absorbed brat.

I have no first hand knowledge of Edwards but if this guy doesn't produce this year I will welcome his departure.

When you draft a receiver third in the draft and he doesn't get a second contract with that team. The damage is severe. He is suppose to be a cornerstone player. The second contract his when he is in his prime and should return your investment. Players with great talent who do not reach their full potential really tick me off. Because they squander a gift that others would kill to have. They won the genetic lottery and they throw away the ticket.

I don't see the two related at all as "on top of" would insinuate.

You can sprain an ankle walking, getting out of bed, trying to avoid the pee puddle in the mens room , or a world full of other places. Basketball is a good way to keep up with fitness during your downtime.

You're right, Florida. I sprained my ankle something nasty one time just walking down the street. I had my right foot on the curb and my left foot on the street. Well, I wasn't paying attention and I stepped right in a hole in the curb and wrenched my ankle. It was really sore for a while.

Then again, I didn't have a multi-million dollar contract at the time (that came a few years later).

As for Edwards, I don't begrudge him that he hurt himself playing basketball. That's not as irresponsible as riding a motorcycle or something like skiing or driving drunk and killing a guy. If this was Cribbs or Joe Thomas, people would dismiss it quickly. But since it's a guy like Edwards, people jump all over it.

I will say I don't necessarily like the guy's attitude. He comes across as a prima donna whose biggest concern is getting the limelight. But, I overlook all of that when he gets on the field and produces. Plus, I'm not sure you'd be able to find too many WRs who weren't like that. It's just one of those things. DL are usually big slobby guys, LBs look like they'd be happy playing without helmets, and WRs are prima donnas.

These are football players,, not rocket scientists..

Wait,, He got spiked in the foot by a teammate.. it's an accident, how could he have avoided it? As for playing Bball,, hey, that's a good way to stay in good cardio shape.. I got no problem with him shooting some hoops..

Now, if he were out there riding a trick bike,,, then yeah, that would have been stupid..

I hold neither the Bball injury or the accidental foot stomping against BE...

I don't want to be argumentative here, but how do you know it wasn't?

Again, I don't want to be difficult, but outside of Fitzgeralds camp (which we'd have heard he attended if he had) how do you know he didn't reach out to Carter and Rice?

He does come across at times as if he's "entitled" and nobody really likes a guy like that..

But you would forgive him of that attitude or personality flaw if he caught the damn ball wouldn't you?

Good lord,, now we are being nitpicky.. My understanding of the incident is that practice was over, they were goofing off, walking back to the building when donte accidentally stepped on BE's foot..

Wearing shoes would have certainly helped, but you have NO way of knowing (neither do I) for sure.

Asking an adult to not goof off or at least have the sense to wear shoes is nitpicky?

Besides, they were racing each other, not walking back to the practice building.

I suppose you never goof off with friends or go barefoot.

Look as stated:

I have no first hand information. I am looking at the whole picture as deducted from what has been published from the sources we all read. Plus the results on the field.

It could all be justified as accidental. I don't know.

What I want to see from Edwards is results. I don't want excuses later like:

"he didn't get to practice because of his spiked foot, so his whole season was trashed." Or, "he sprained his ankle playing basketball missed most of training camp and his season suffered."

Just like Stallworth, high draft pick, 3 teams in 5 or 6 years. Can't stay on the field.

Edwards needs to produce this year. If he does, then I like him. If he proves to be committed. If he doesn't ship him out on the first boat sailing. Let him walk to free agency and I wish for him all he deserves.

You're defending this as unavoidable?? Ever hear of OSHA? Or common sense? The "man" is a highly paid "professional". How often do you see your company Execs outside palying freeze tag in their suits before a big meeting?

I can't think of any way to describe it besides "completely avoidable". People making $10 an hour supervising kids at daycare know not to let one kid run around barefoot with another wearing cleats .

It was as boneheaded as it gets.

I goof off, but I am never barefoot. And I don't see why Braylon felt the need to be barefoot on the practice field anyway?

Frankly, I'm not sure why the heck we're still talking about it! It was stupid or it wasn't, but the fact is, it's over.

Yeah, it might show that he's kind of careless, but it's in the past. Let's focus on now.

He has a hurt ankle that supposedly came from a basketball game. How much training camp has he missed? How behind is he with the offense? I'll answer both of those as of 12:37 p.m. on July 30: He hasn't missed any training camp and we don't know if he's behind or not.

"Schefter said via Twitter: “Browns fans, relax. I’m told Braylon has an akle injury and he will be just fine.”

Yeah figure we would relax...an ankle tweak at the reporting to training camp is like nothing compared to the crapola we have faced in the past.

No big deal.

I'm curious if BE attended Camp Quinn as I remember through a quote from him he said he would be attending and that quote was made right at the end of our last camp and well after he twisted the ankle (rumored from Basketball ). Maybe he stayed active and it never healed 100%??? He'll be in there by our 3rd preseason game and enough time to be ready for our OPENER.

JMHO - Francies is the one I'm worried about...what happened there? Cause that is new, new.
