When did Cleveland sign him?

I love this guy...and have wanted the Steelers to get him since he came out in the draft. I think with the right "coaching" he can be a James Harrison type player....some one who got cut 4 or 5 times....then the light goes on and he is good.

I think he is a solid ST player and backup at worst...and has a very high ceiling.

I hope he looks good and sticks in Cleveland.

Here's a little bit of research on the guy from a 2005 NFL Draft scouting report. He's old already. I believe he's got to be at least 28, maybe 29 now. Won't have my hopes up but apprently he's a physical specimen...

Stength: Robert McCune is a workout monster. Robert McCune has great strength and speed for his size. Robert McCune has excellent agility. Robert McCune was very productive at Louisville. Robert McCune sheds/throws blockers off himself very well. Robert McCune is an intelligent player who still looks like he's improving. Robert McCune has a lot of special teams experience.
Weakness: Robert McCune is already 25 years old. Though he runs very well, Robert McCune struggles with stop-and-go acceleration.
Development: Typically when someone is built like Robert McCune and gets drafted late, he is a project player. Robert McCune is not a development project. If he was 21, somebody would have drafted him in the second round. Many scouts suggest Joe Gibbs drafted Robert McCune for his special teams monster skills. While I agree Gibbs plans to make use of those skills right away, Robert McCune has the tools Joe usually looks for in a middle linebacker: intelligence, productivity, and strength. Expect Robert McCune to compete for time at middle linebacker right away. There is a chance Robert McCune will be relegated to the practice squad, bust most likely he'll make the roster as a special teams player and see action at linebacker. Robert McCune is ready to play, which not many 5th round picks can say.
Fantasy Football Rating: If he should end up starting, get him. Always has made plays.
Typecast Outlook Opinion: Prototype physique. Athletic. Strong. Robert McCune is ready to play in the NFL.

Yeah I figured I already went the extra mile in getting a scouting report that it shoudln't matter what quality it is if you couldn't tell if you click on the link

Sounds like a blue-chip beast.
To confirm... Robert McCune is his real name?

Yeah his age was the only knock on the guy coming out of college. Didn't know we picked him up. If he's 29 and hasn't developed into a contributor yet in the NFL, well... He probably won't make the team.

I can't remember who drafted him... Washington?

Washington did draft him....then Miami took him off their PS....then Baltimore signed him as a FA.....now Cleveland.

James Harrison turned 29 last year...and became DPOY....he did not start till 28. I think McCune can flat out play...but he needs to be COACHED properly...and I think Wash, Miami, and Balt all had him buried on the depth chart behind depth.....He was behind Zach Thomas in Miami...and of course Ray Lewis in Balt....(Zach Thomas loved the guy and praised his ability often...said he just had to learn the defense....but was only in MIA one season)

That being said..he probably won't make the team...as he is so late to the party....but I still pray the Steelers sign him

Some people mentioned he did very well on Special teams yesterday...something about being in on a fumble????

Can't really say but I am going to try to keep an eye on him when I watch the game at Midnight???

I seem to remember his name when linked to Louisville???

When??? I don't know this week is the first I heard of him doing something with the Browns. The surprises were Titus Brown and Marcus Bernard up to this point.

JMHO - but Special Teams is the way to a HC's Heart if you ask me.

Defense wins championships. Watson play your butt off!

Yes he did do very well on STs. Brown is injured, and Bernard was invisible the whole game.

I have to agree with Hack, I like the guy, and hope WE keep him.

He forced a fumble on a KO (or it might've been a punt).

Didn't he also get called for holding on Lawson's big return bringing it back?

I thought the pre-game injury report said both of them were out.

Kind of figured he would since he was so late to the dance...I sure hope he gets another chance somewhere.

He was an older rookie because he went into the military first, before College....Got to like that.
