I think Phil believes there is some sort of grand conspiracy between the billionaires that run the biggest corporations in this country, and they are somehow pulling all the strings within the government.

While it's true that people with money are always going to have a lot of political influence, large corporations HARDLY have all the control in this country ... otherwise labor unions would be toothless, minimum wage would be much, much lower, tort reform would of been put in place a long time ago, and entities like the EPA and OSHA wouldn't have much of a say in anything.

Like I've said often, thus far, Obama is barely different than Bush...barely. And I can't remember once in eight years hearing someone call Bush a 'socialist'...didn't hear it when he bailed out the airline industry, didn't hear it when he bailed out the banks, didn't hear it with his pharm deals....

You must not of been listening very well then. Most people I know were saying "Bush spends money like a drunken liberal" when it came to his spending habits.

Never once heard anyone call him a 'socialist'.

Here's a few for you then:

if those are not good enough....how about the Republican National Convention labelling George W. Bush a socialist....

Phil, I do agree with you that both parties are the problem and they are more alike than either wants to admit....

I posted articles about his spending and programs all the time. Some people have very convenient memories.

Phil is angry at both parties because they aren't true socialists.

as a fiscal conservative, i'm angry that the term is considered an idiosyncratic now.

anyway, this got me reading....if Hugo Chavez (PM of Venezuela) thinks W. is a 'comrade' I don't know how much more socialist he could have been

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnew...ial-crisis.html

My favorite line in that one: "Bush is to the left of me now," Mr Chavez told an audience at a debate on the benefits of socialism.

then, there's Obama pretty much calling W. a socialist as well....

He’s absolutely definitely not a socialist, the President insisted. But, he suggested, his predecessor George W. Bush was:

http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/tobyharnden/9123157/Barack_Obama_George_W_Bush_is_a_socialist/

“It was hard for me to believe that you were entirely serious about that socialist question. I did think it might be useful to point out that it wasn’t under me that we started buying a bunch of shares of banks. It wasn’t on my watch. And it wasn’t on my watch that we passed a massive new entitlement - the prescription drug plan without a source of funding. And so I think it’s important just to note when you start hearing folks through these words around that we’ve actually been operating in a way that has been entirely consistent with free-market principles and that some of the same folks who are throwing the word socialist around can’t say the same.”

Not even close. True socialism fails 10 times out of 10.

I'm angry at both parties because they're corrupt fascists who make decisions without the good of the people in mind.

Since it was all automated anyway and it was all batch processed at the end of the day... why couldn't they set up the batch deposits to go first?

If your depositing another bank's check depending on how the check is cleared and time they could theoretically the bank could get the money in 0-1 days. they sit on it for most customers for 2 - 4 days depending on a lot of different factors.

What's funny is if it's their own check they could credit you right away but still sit on it.

But if you pass a bad check, they send out the overdraft notice the same day the attempt to deposit was made.

We don't have to agree with each other, to respect each others opinion.
