To DawgMichelle,BrownsBabe,GTODawg and AtomicDawg........................

"...You are just not a nice man, Ralphie. I seriously don't appreciate you thinking any of us would wish you death. How 'bout you stop it with the snide remarks? "

Ladies I have come to the conclusion that once in the doghouse of your group there is no changing the mindset.
My last remark about "your displeasure" at my safety from the storm was purely in jest and not meant to be a snide remark.
For a small group of ladies to protest so much about my "Babes Broomstick Brigade" or "Coven from Cleveland" the adoption of the flying witch and broomstick logos seems to be a telling trait.

Finally, I am ot happy that I am perceived as "...not a nice man". Difference in opinions and preferences as well as the occassional joke does not an evil person make. More likely it makes you a participant in a free forum of expressed feelings and sometimes a bit of unsophisticated humor.

Thanks for the good wishes and hope you all survive the cold.

You know Ralphie, there are these things called emoticons, they help convey the idea that you're joking about something or saying something in jest. When you do not use them, your comments are taken as serious.

When you said "Much to the displeasure of the "Babes Broomstick Brigade"" You should have put a somewhere in there and shown you wewre joking. You see, that is how you joke with someone. Note all the and after the exchages between myself and atomic dog. We are speaking in jest and notate it

And it's not impossible to get out of doghouse, it's been done before. But then again, for you, it just may be impossible. (see, notice use of smilies to show I'm joking around)

Reread the post where you mention "much to our displeasure" and please tell me how someone would condsider that joking. If you were joking, as Babe suggested, just let us know...clearly we like to joke around, too.

This is one of the threads that I ignore for about four pages because the title seems kind of boring, then I click in and it's highly entertaining.

Oh ralphie, it's possible to get out of the doghouse. Some here get in the doghouse and then back out, then back in and back out again, and then back in and back out of it. and so on.

Wave of arctic cold grips Midwest, Northeast

Deep snow chokes parts of N.Y. state; weather cancels O’Hare flights

Updated: 2 hours, 26 minutes ago

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Winter returned with a vengeance Wednesday to the Upper Midwest and Northeast, with snow and below-zero temperatures snarling commutes, canceling flights and closing schools.

More than 140 flights were canceled at O’Hare International Airport on Tuesday, and authorities in Minnesota pulled 24 vehicles and four semitrailer trucks out of the ditch from a single pileup. The weather left some interstates around Indianapolis virtually impassable during the evening rush hour, and the Cincinnati city manager asked downtown employers to let nonessential employees leave early.

Cold air from the Arctic stretched from the northern Plains through New England — reaching a low of 31 below in Cook, Minn. — and temperatures were below zero as far south as the mountains of West Virginia. At least 11 deaths are blamed on slippery roads and the bone-chilling cold.

The cold wind picked up moisture from the Great Lakes, creating lake-effect squalls that have dumped 3 to 4 feet of snow this week on parts of New York state at the eastern end of Lake Ontario, where winter had few teeth until this week.

“I knew we’d have to pay up somewhere down the line for all that nice weather,” said Chris Sachel, who owns a drive-in restaurant outside Fulton, northwest of Syracuse. Annual snowfall in the area averages more than 20 feet.

The bitter cold and bone-chilling winds forced dozens of schools in New York, Wisconsin and Michigan to close for a second day, including districts in Buffalo, Rochester and Milwaukee.

In West Virginia, classes were called off or delayed in all 55 counties, and Kentucky school districts — including Louisville and Lexington — closed early because of snow. Most Cincinnati-area schools were also dismissed early.

New York state troopers closed a section of Interstate 81 east of Oswego for an hour to remove cars and trucks that went off the road when blowing snow reduced visibility to zero. Oswego County Sheriff Reuel Todd said hundreds of vehicles slid off the pavement.

“I live about four miles down the road. It took me about 50 minutes to an hour to get here,” said Gus Maunder of Parish.

Crashes, frozen pipes
The Minnesota Department of Public Safety reported 290 crashes during rush-hour traffic Tuesday, including 236 in the Twin Cities area.

Ferry service was suspended on the Hudson River in upstate New York because the water began freezing over.

In West Virginia, which saw some of its coldest weather in a decade, a frozen water pipe forced about 35 residents of a senior citizens complex in Nitro to seek shelter at a church, emergency officials said.

In Chicago, city crews were responding to more than 1,000 reports of frozen pipes, said Department of Water Management spokesman Tom LaPorte. The frigid weather also hampered firefighting efforts, prompting emergency workers to use propane torches to melt frozen hydrants.

The 3 inches of snow in the Columbus area delayed the arrival of officials at the Michigan-Ohio State men’s basketball game Tuesday night; the game between the Phoenix Coyotes and the Columbus Blue Jackets was also postponed by 35 minutes because heavy snowfall delayed the bus carrying the Coyotes.

The cold and slippery roads had contributed to at least two deaths in Illinois, two deaths in Kentucky, two in Michigan, two in Ohio, and one each in Wisconsin, Maryland and Indiana, authorities said.

Dangerous weather is such a trivial thing to post about.
