The 19-year-old knew that the network doesn't exactly make a habit out of giving their moonman trophies to country music stars. "I was standing on the stage and I was really excited because I had just won the award," Swift said after Sunday's show at Radio City Music Hall. "And then I was really excited because Kanye West was on the stage. And then I wasn't so excited anymore after that." Taking the microphone, the rapper protested Swift's selection and announced that Beyonce, also nominated, should have won because her "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on it)" was "one of the best videos of all time." As he had numerous times before, West made sure an awards show spotlight shone on him. A stunned Swift staggered and didn't get to finish her acceptance speech. The crowd booed West, who shortly after was asked to leave the show and left the building. But Swift got a chance to recapture her time in the spotlight. Toward the end of the evening, when Beyonce won video of the year for "Single Ladies," the pop star promptly invited Swift out on stage to properly "have her moment." "They told me to stand by the side of the stage," Swift said. "I didn't really know what was going to go down, but I thought it was so wonderful and gracious of her to do what she's always done. "I thought that I couldn't love Beyonce more and then tonight happened." West later apologized on his blog to Swift, her fans and her mother. ------------ Nice job there Kanye. Kanye West really is a tool. No doubt, the dude can make a hit but every single time he runs his mouth outside of one of his songs he revelas himself to be a bigger a-hole. I'm done with the guy - Kanye and I had our time in the clubs, lol, but I feel dirty supporting him anymore. Taylor Swift will win TONS of awards before it's all said and done for her, but this idiot took her moment. Well played Kanye And kudos to Beyonce, it was very nice what she said and did when she won her award later on. Very classy move, Ms. Cleopatra.

Just went to the MTV website and watched the whole she-bang. And WTF was he talking about? That was one of the best videos ever made? That one wouldn't even rank in my Top 50, probably, and I haven't watched videos since early college years (you know, when MTV started forgetting the "M" part of their name). Anyway, Kanye may write and perform some great stuff (and I have liked some of his stuff in the past), but I will now no longer purchase anything with his name on it (as a writer or performer). Not just for this, but for his past body of "work" similar to this. Beyonce, on the other hand, I was a casual fan of her stuff, but what she did for Taylor Swift makes me a big fan of hers now. And now I've got that song stuck in my head. *if ya liked it then you shoulda put ring on it* BTW, what the heck was Lady Gaga's ending of her song? Blood? Really?

Kanye West is a drunk and a thug. As long as people keep cheering him on and buying his music, he will consider himself empowered to continue his low life, classless ways. Beyonce, on the other hand, came from a humble upbringing and displayed her graciousness and class once again last night. I have heard her interviewed several times and she always passes the credit around to many people for her successes.

Didn't watch it live but all they've been doing all day is talking about it and showing the video of it..

But I think there is a method to his madness. Tonight, he's on the Premier of the Jay Leno show and I have little to no doubt him being there will have some effect on the ratings.. I would not even be close to suprised if it was all staged....

Good one beer downer Kanye is clearly outspoken and he does have a huge EGO, but i can't see how he can be labeled a thug. What he did to Taylor was ridiculous and selfish. No one really cares if 'Ye thought Beyonce should have won the award, especially in that environment. Save if for a blog or twitter (emphasis on twit). You never should steal the spotlight from anyone receiving an award much less a first time award winning 19 year old. Much kudos to Beyonce for remembering what it is to be a young kid in that position.

I caught the replay of it cuz I was watching football when it happened...but I saw my Facebook and Twitter feeds blow up.
Kanye's a straight up douche...but he does keep his name out there. I'll give him that. I hate his electronic voice though...it's not real music.
Beyonce was total class though...and on a sidenote is the hottest black woman in my opinion. I can now forgive her for Bootylicious
Taylor Swift may have been humiliated but I think her reputation has grown tenfold in one night. Just trying to think of the positives of a bad situation.

I read about this but didn't see it live. Kanye is a boner. I enjoy some of his music, but as an individual, I can't stand the guy. Kanye LOVES the spotlight. He loves the attention. Anyone remember the one award show maybe 4 years back where he was up there with Mike Myers? They were talking about something political, and he just blurts out, "George Bush hates black people."
