wow..::shakes head...:: just wow...
I am pretty sure u were joking here...but that just shows how ignorant you are to rap or hip hop music.
Guilty as charged, and glad to be. Don't like rap or hip hop, not even a little. It seems that half of 'em can't even write their own stuff, but at least they know how to sample (*steal*) other people's work.
This might sound like a dinosaur talking, but pop/rock music has really gone downhill the last 15 years. Give me a Les Paul cranked through a Marshall and two hands that know what they're doing.
Quote: But I think there is a method to his madness. Tonight, he's on the Premier of the Jay Leno show and I have little to no doubt him being there will have some effect on the ratings.. I would not even be close to suprised if it was all staged....
I watched the Leno Show last night. Not because West was on, but I wanted to see Jay. I must admit, I think West is truly remorseful....or he sold me a bill of goods.
It doesn't change what he did, but if he follows through on his words, then he'll be a better person for this. I'm curious as to what Taylor Swift says about this. My guess is she'll forgive him. That seems to be her make-up.

Didnt see it, just a question here.
Is he apoloizing becuase he's sorry or becuase his agent explained what something like this can do to his record sales and his appricances and carrer, I often wonder if people apologize for the right reasons. Also is it wrong nowdays not to accept a persons apology, just because someone apologizes dosent mean you have to accept it, sure maybe it's the classy right thing to do, but if sometimes things are done & said like this where it makes one wonder if accepting the apology for the wrong reasons is just as worng as apologizing for the wrong reasons,
He walked out onto Leno's stage kinda sulking, jacket and glasses in hand. He mumbled and rambled an apology. The only part that seemed sincere is when Leno asked what his monther would have thought of his actions the night before.
Then when his 2 minute interview was done and it was time to perform, a smile came out, the jacket and glasses went on, and it was business as usual.

I'm a huge skeptic of apologies in these type of circumstances. This is actually the first one I *think* I might believe.
Rogue,, there isn't one of us that hasn't, at one time or the other, spoken out of turn. We've all said something that we regret to some degree.
In the end, when all is said and done, West has made more gaffs than most.. His comment on Former President Bush, saying he was sending people down to Louisanna to kill folks and that he didn't like black people.. that was way over the top and in the grand scheme of things, worse than what he did with Taylor Swift the other night..
Still, that was an afront to common decency to hurt that young ladies feelings like that.. That award will always have a slight stain or stigma attached to it..

I'm not a fan of rap/hip hop music, but there is no denying Kanye West is extremely talented, and rap/hip hop isn't the only kind of music he makes. A lot of the work he does is producing for other, very successful musicians who are not rappers. Because of that he'll always make money.
There's also no denying the guy is a huge, HUGE turd. That will probably have some affect on his income, but people will still buy his stuff because its just good. Even not being a rap fan I thought 808's and Heartbreaks was one of the better albums I've heard in a very long time, though it wasn't very "rappy." He just has ability and no matter how much he shows his ass he'll still be at these award shows and in the spotlight because he makes people money.
You can probably make a pretty long list of all the boneheaded things he's done. They even did a South Park episode about him earlier this year or late last year that made fun of him pretty harshly (though accurately). But, unfortunately, he's here to stay. Might as well not be shocked the next time this happens because its probably only a matter of time.
I didn't see the awards show as I don't really see the point in watching one, but what Beyonce did was very sweet, kudos to her.

I felt that it was incredibly sincere considering the source. This is a guy who we have NEVER seen speechless like that. We have to consider his image of a tough guy and how crucial it is in regards to their sales. It truly does effect their sales.
The guy sat there, not really sure what he had to say, but you can tell that he wanted to say it. You can tell that he was fighting back the tears after the self-realization of what he has done and what he has become. He openly admitted that he needs to take some time to sit back and reflect about what he has done. He has always been about his work that he has never taken the time off. As someone who works in this business, I know how frustrating it is on the road all the time. It does start to consume you and take over your life. And I was just on the backstage end, I didn't have the cameras blaring in my face whenever I did get out.
So I personally found his apology extremely genuine when you consider the source and found his statement of needing to finally take some time off remarkable. Let's also take notice to who he has been working with recently, Jay-Z. I'm sure that while they were working on that album, Jay-Z has probably greatly influenced him in being able to take a step back and to analyze what he is doing. Now that another outburst has happened, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to find out that it was the straw that Kanye needed to break to realize it.
Now that being said, I don't necessarily feel bad for Taylor Swift. While she is a nice, young girl....she really lacks in talent. There is a reason why she refuses to perform now without her own sound crew there ready to mix her voice and distort it a bit to sound good. If you look back in her career, she did some impromptu stuff and sounded terrible. Ironically, she doesn't do that anymore.
Read this on someone's Twitter ... "Hope Kanye West doesn't show up at Patrick Swayze's funeral ... he'd take the mic over during the eulogy and claim MJ's death was bigger."

That's perfectly fine because I have no idea who those people are you just mentioned.
Unfortunately I probabally don't listen to half the music the older dawgtalkers listen to. Just one last thing I listen to Kanyes music and I still will. Also Kanye apologized to Taylor Swift in person so that's good enough for me. I was told Jay Leno brought up Kanyes dead mother and if that's true it was a pathetic low blow and I don't think I will be watching his show any time soon.

OMG.
Go ahead and laugh if it makes you feel better about yourself. I'm sorry because I honestelly had no idea what he was talking about
Oh yeah FreeAgent thanks for being classy enough to explain it for me
Quote: I was told Jay Leno brought up Kanyes dead mother
Perhaps you should watch the video. He didn't crack at his mother but rather it was an intellectual question where he asked what his mother would have thought about the incident. It really made Kanye choke up a bit because he knew exactly what she would have thought and that it wasn't good. It made him realize that he needs to take a step back and take some time off. It was a question that made him analyze his life a bit and was not a crack at his mother by any stretch of imagination.
love his music, although he's a complete phony, his stuff is the some of the most touched up i've ever listened to, just by some of the live stuff i have seen and a lot of people who have told they saw him in person. but the songs are catchy. i give him, or whoever writes the music credit. and when the guy is away from music, everything he says is plain stupid. just play your music, nobody cares about what you think about politics or who you think should have won whatever award. he's a good rapper, but he's no dre, biggie, or pac.
actually there is some really good music out, and has been the last 15 years. im one of the few who can appreciate the old stuff but still really like the new stuff.
Just one last thing I listen to Kanyes music and I still will. Also Kanye apologized to Taylor Swift in person so that's good enough for me.
Fine. Because he apologized in person (I had not heard that he did yet - just that he had twice on his website), then you're fine forgetting his ignorant behavior. And that is fine - I'm sure you're not the only one that will do, or has done that.

Kanye has made a huge deal about his mom.....which is fine. He loved her. It's actually a good thing. Leno, however, did not bring his mom up in a negative way. Context - although hard for all of us at sometimes - context is a good thing. Without it, sometimes we say things we didn't mean when we get the context.
Kanye West On Suicide Watch Following Taylor Swift Incident: Reports
According to reports, Kayne West is on suicide watch following his onstage outburst during the VMA’s on Sunday.
MediaTakeOut.com, is reporting that the rapper has since fallen into a deep depression and friends and family are starting to worry.
“You guys [in the press] don’t realize that you’re pushing him close to the edge. In his mindset he could do something crazy. Please go easy on him MTO,” revealed the inside source.
What Happened?
On Sunday when Taylor Swift was on stage for Best Female Video Award, West ran onstage and ruined her moment by grabbing the microphone and rudely interrupting her.
“Yo Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’ll let you finish, but Beyonce has one of the best videos of all time!” West said to the audience.
A stunned and shocked Swift did not finish her speech.
So, because he was an ass, and has been numerous times in the past, but all of a sudden this time is different and he feels bad for it and he's now thinking of suicide, people should back off?
He caused the problem. People reacted to it. If he can't deal with the problem he created and is thinking of killing himself.......well, he needs more than time to "reflect", he needs help.
Sorry man, he caused his own problems.
This isn't some kid that got picked on his whole life. Picked on for not wearing the right clothes, for having a big nose, whatever.....
west brought this on himself. I have a feeling his "suicide" watch is a plea for more attention.
I didn't believe there was any sincerity in his "apology", and I don't believe this.......suicide watch.....right.
He's begging for attention......he's as suicidal as I am. He wants attention.....sympathy. The whole "oh, I made a mistake, and now everyone hates me and I want to kill myself" attention. A fake.
What he's sorry about is his reputation took a plunge.
I feel that way because no one in their right mind thinks of suicide over this, AND, because the article says " you guys in the press don't realize you're pushing him......."
He pushed. People reacted to his push. If he can't deal with his self caused problem, that's his fault.
You may be right Arch but NO human should be laughed, taken lightly or encouraged to commit suicide.
I think he's serious because I think he's crazy enough to do this. You're right Arch he is a rich and successful person so he's different from us however think about it. He probabally feels like he let his dead mother down, his fans and millions of other people as well. Who here on this board can say that?
