It is being reported on multiple sites.

Being told you have pancreatic cancer is about as close to a death sentence as there is.

I still love after a hard week of work to chill on a Friday night watching Road House with a cold drink and a popcorn. The others I still love are Austin Power and Die Hard series, Scarface and The Godfather.

RIP Pat and God Bless!

Horrible news, but unfortunately, kind of expected. As someone who grew up w/ this guy's films, I'm actually kind of sad.

This would be my tribute marathon in alphabetical order . . .
Next of Kin
The Outsiders
Point Break
Red Dawn
Roadhouse

My wife would pick these ones where he's a ghost and where he dances a lot . . . .

Rest in peace, Patrick.

That is a damn shame, that guy was freaking awesome.

I'll be watching Ghost and or Roadhouse later tonight as well.

His movies make up so much of my teenage years...Dirty Dancing, Ghost, The Outsiders etc. Guess I'll be watching a marathon this weekend.

This is the death that hurts my feelings most this summer. Roadhouse was just so awesome and now he's gone?

Roadhouse is a great movie, but somehow I always still get cranked when they let Sam Elliott bite it.

This is one of my favorite guilty pleasure movies. Love it. And whoever else said it, I too get tweaked when they let Wade Garrett bite it. I don't know who was a bigger badass in that movie, Patrick or Sam, but they were both great.

I also love Point Break. His role in that was great.

Sad news for sure.

RIP Patrick. God Bless you and your family.

Loved his movies. Red Dawn and Roadhouse are my favorites. Wife loves Ghost and both her and my 2yo daughter love Dirty Dancing. (It's so cute to watch my daughter try and mimic the dancing she sees on the tv)

I really liked a few of his movies.. Red Dawn, Roadhouse, Ghost (a chick flick but still a good job by him and demi moore isn't hard on the eyes either)

Didn't care for North and South (made for TV civil war drama) or Too Wong Foo... Didn't care for that at all.

RIP Patrick,,, you seem to have fought the good fight...

Indifferent to his movies, but 57 is way too young to die.

To Wong Foo is a so fantastically bad that it's good movie. Kind of like the car wreck on the side of the road that everyone slows down to look at.

"Wolverines!!" Red Dawn, I loved that movie as a kid.

The end came suddenly but you know the guy was suffering. That is the absolute worst cancer (if there is a "good" cancer) to get and I hear it's extremely rough to live with. Most people I have heard has said they are surprised he lived a year, but it's a tribute to how tough and resilient he really was.

Swayze seemed in excellent shape and was only 57. A lady at my work had a massive coronary and passed away last week in front of me at the age of 47. It just shows sometimes things will strike you no matter what
