I liked the very first (top) photo. As for the others I have the feeling you expressed. I have no reason to believe they aren't genuine, but they come across as more artistic to me, while the 1st one gave me the most sense of portraying nature's nastiness-danger-power.
Been thru two tornado's when I was young, but remember everything that happened like it was yesterday.
I will chase storms one day when retired.
Meterology was my first love and should have pursued it after high school, but things happned and before ya know it, life happens. Amazing picutres showing the force of nature, not only in it's power but the beauty in it's power.
I'd say they are fake. If you look at the first picture closely you can see the outline of a person standing between the car and the road sign. If it was real then why would he need to photo shop them out?
Just noticed that if you zoom in on the picture you can see that the road sign has been changed and just to the right of the sign appears to be the outline of what looks like a cow.

Excl, watch the video and look at the picture at no time does the video and picture line up. In the video when the tornado crosses the road the police car is no where near that close to the road sign in fact he's in front of the power pole on the left side in the video while in the picture it doesn't even show a pole. Its like the guy took a picture of the area afterwards then photoshopped the car and tornado in and other things out. Also in the video when you hear him say he's got to get some shots of it by that time the tornado is well to the right of the road and starting to break up.

When the camera pans up to the clouds, I'm pretty sure I saw the face of the Virgin Mary... therefore it is obviously real.
