Mack is Screwing up snap after snap.

Its a bad bad thing.

Rey M looks like crap, I don't know what game you were watching.

Really, you mean because I'm right? Your nothing more than a 2bit apologist homer...this franchise is all time bad since 99...nothing has changed.

So Robo, MoMass, and Vekune shouldn't be held accountable since their rooks? Maybe Quinn, St. Claire, and every other first year player on this team should be excused because, after all, they are in their first year here. And I suppose we shouldn't compare them to other rookies right?

This team isnt "rebuilding" they flat out are the worst franchise in the NFL. Even the senile Al Davis has some hope, we have NONE. We blew it on our coach, we blew the draft, we did nothing in FA.

The Jets saw it, they actually wanted to win, and after Favre gave out, they failed. They actually are a legit franchise, they got someone smart, and they are winning, right now, minus Brett Favre, with a rookie QB.....which team gave them that QB for nothing...

Us!

You and hundreds of other apologists can call this whatever you want, its a terrible football team, with no QB or HC, and it has no front office leadership because our soccer owner gave total control to an average unproven HC.

We have been through 10 rebuilding years, when in reality, there is no such thing. There are good franchises that win, and bad franchises the lose. Good ones reload, bad ones "rebuild" to lose again. We are horrific and will be until Lerner is removed. Tons of other teams dont have the same fictional growing pains and rebuilding years.

Except Rey M is at his peak, we don't know what Robo, Massaquoi and Viekune can do.

I will still stand by my statement that Rey M is nothing more than a two down LB'er in the NFL.

LMAO he's at his peek? GAFB!

He's a rookie no-where near his peak and he's gonna be ten time better than anyone we drafted in the second round. I'm still ticked we didn't take him!

GO ahead and stand by it, say a prayer, cross your fingers.....do whatever you want.

Rey M will be making plays and holding it down in the center of Cincy's D.

He has been the same LB'er since he stepped on the field at USC and will continue to be that way because he lacks his ability to cover anyone and is flat out not smart.

But he'll hit hard and that'll always fool fans.

Hah, I am FAR from a homer apologist. You calling me that proves your ignorance. I have dozens of respected people that will back me up, and I'm willing to bet you couldn't find a soul other than those who absolutely hate Mangini.

I have said countless times that St. Claire sucks. I have often stated my doubts on Quinn. I seem to remember you being all over Quinn, saying we needed to start him over DA. DA has shown me a hell of a lot more than Quinn ever has.

As far as the draft picks, to an extent they should be excused because they're rooks. MoMass was wide open on one play if you recall. Your boy Quinn threw it into the defender's back.

Veikune isn't playing on a defense that was pretty darn impressive until they got warn out due to the suckiness of our offense. We knew he was a project when we drafted him. I'm willing to bet that he goes on to be a very solid player. Robo will as well, though I don't know what the deal is with him.

You can never call a rookie a bust after one season, much less two weeks. That is ridiculous.

Rey M is one of the most overrated draft prospects I have ever seen. He has no coverage skills whatsoever, and is a complete ass. I would never take him on my team, and applaud Mangini and Kokinis for passing on him.

Ur funny. I like how everyone re-hashes everything said about Rey on here.

It's actually funny because earlier in the year there was a poll on who everyone wanted in the draft and the results were staggering that he was the clear cut choice. Then people on here start talking about how he can't cover and blah blah blah.

It's funny how something get's said on this board and every argument about any player get's re-hashed post after post until it becomes truth.

This may be a first, but I am going to back up Deepthreat on this

I love that angry Browns fans keep bringing up Rey M this afternoon because the Bengals were the featured 1pm game this afternoon and he played.

The Browns were not the only team who passed on Rey M. He went #38 for a reason. He had character question marks and issues with coverage.

He dropped to 38 for a reason. Now to be fair, Brady Quinn dropped for a reason too.

The facts are as follows concerning Brady. The right-side of the line is awful and his receivers after Braylon Edwards are awful. It is hard to discern what we have in Brady because of this.

Could not disagree with this statement more. To date, he does not make average NFL QB plays. He just doesn't. No other QB in the league misses MoMass on that pass ... none. And he had time on that play. It was a routine throw that every single NFL QB should make and be expected to make.

You can take the right side OL into consideration or the WRs ... but that will be the reason he was downright pitiful ... whereas he is the reason he's plain pitiful...he doesn't look the part of a legitimate NFL QB...not even close.

Whatever. I can go the other way.

It is funny how so called draftnicks experts on the internet create a website and state that a player is a top 10 pick and everyone believes it and re-hashes it on message boards until it becomes "truth". You see this every year with players. They are overvalued by people who are masquerading as experts and it is perpetuated by the fans. It is not what www.superduperdraftexpert.com says, it what paid expert NFL quality team scouts evaluate and bring back to their respective team's war rooms that matter.

The point with Rey is...........

He was productive today!!!!!!

One of the guys we picked over him was inactive today and had a hard time cracking the line-up in preseason.

Unfortunately, not every player in the league is a gentleman. But you can't dispute that Rey M had a solid day today and NONE of our draft picks have done anything to CHANGE the game.

Rey M produced two fumbles and a sack and a couple tackles.

What have our rookies done?

If Quinn would just show me something, I'd cut him tons of slack. But he doesn't do anything well. Nothing.

Oh but when someone says Davis doesn't have breakaway speed and post like ten mock draft "experts" saying he doesn't either, they don't know what they are talking about.

And I am willing to bet he fell because of character not because of play.. I seem to remember him grinding on a reporter like a month before the draft. Sometimes you have to take a chance with them players.

I am not defending Quinn nor am I blasting him. I am simply stating that there are certain deficiencies on the offensive side of the ball, that will make diminish Quinn's chances of success. When the right side of the line collapses so quickly, it hard to make the correct reads and react the way a quarterback should. That is the bottom line fact. When your receivers are not NFL starting caliber receivers who do not run NFL quality routes, it is hard to be effective.

I am not sure that Quinn has the accuracy to be an starting NFL quarterback, as evidenced by the first drive of the Broncos drive when he missed Furrey in the endzone. A NFL quarterback would have threaded the needle with that pass.

That being said, my previous post was just stating that with the issues we have on the offensive side of the ball it will hard to correctly evalutate Quinn.

If you take off your homer glasses, you can EASILY see what Quinn is (as of now).

1) Cannot throw an accurate deep ball
2) Holds the ball too long
3) Excellent at 'throwing' the ball 0-4 yards downfield

As for now, the kid is a 'dink and dunk' passer; which happens to be what the draft consensus was saying about him in college. Can't hit the long ball w/ accuracy.

If there's no chance of a deep ball, it makes defensive planning rather easy.

I'm just curious now how long before the pressure is on to put DA in.

If you actually read what I wrote, I don't see how you can state I have homer glasses.

I basically stated he didn't play good and has accuracy issues but that the team also has offensive line and wide receiver issues.

It's simple...

BQ = No threat of a deep ball (at least being caught by our guy)

Imagine being a DC knowing your opposing QB can't throw it deep... Maybe you can blitz more and get ONE guy 4 sacks in one game. 4 sacks by 1 player

Just to temper that a bit, Antwan Odom of Cinci got 5 sacks today against Aaron Rodgers.... who can absolutely throw it a mile and makes fairly quick reads.

Sometimes, a defense just has a good day.... especially when going up against a craptastic RT (the one thing that both Odom & Dumervil had in common today).

Tyler...im just go at you right quick because...what ive seen from you so far is posts that...while they may not seem the most thoughtful post...you post things that are at least based on fact and such...and they could be logical...and while they may be on the fringe...they are posts that are posts that could be backed by something...this one however...im missing...

Quinn flubbed the bad snap from Mack today. Quinn flubbed the "bad" snaps today in shotgun. They hit him in the hands and Quinn yucked em up...While Mack hasnt been...the best C in history...hes been serviceable...routinely our right side has been the first to break down...while its broken down...i think its help up long enough for a legit NFL QB to get passes off to WRs or open people. While Dumervil did a good job getting to Quinn...Quinn did a great job giving Dumervil enough time to sack anyone.

as much as i read...Quinn did the EXACT opposite of last week...
Did he improve on what he sucked on last week? YES...but did he get better? NO...NOT EVEN A LITTLE BIT.

And thats what concerns me...Quinn needs to IMPROVE...at this point...through 2 games...he hasnt. and hes shown that not only can he struggle in one facet...but he can struggle in facets considered completely opposite of what he struggled at the previous week

That snap from Mack that Denver recovered was far beyond a "bad" snap ..... that was a get someone killed snap.

While I hold Quinn responsible for a lot of the mess out on the field today ..... that certainly wasn;t his fault. A shotgun snap hitting the ground 2 or 3 feet in from of the QB (IIRC: Going from memory here, and I have tried to ... this game out of my mind as much as possible) is no one's fault but the Center's.

i guess...responding to the number of people that responded...did it really one hop to him?

I mean i had some drinks today...but i feel like that hit him near the hands and he just didnt adjust well enough to catch the ball...I coulda swore that ball hit his hands first before the ground...ill gladly admit wrongness if i am wrong...did it really hit the ground before it hit his hands? cuz i dont remember that?

There are alot of reason's why this game was lost, but solely 3 bad shotgun snaps is not why teams lose football games. Mac is bad in the shotgun - yes. The man on his butt (Quinn) has more control of the outcome over 3 bad snaps. There were many reasons why we were not effective on offense. Bad protection on the right side of the line, lack of an established running game, many dropped balls by WR ( *coughs* Cribbs), inaccurate throws, and constant check downs in 3rd and long situations.

I think I remember it hitting his shin then bouncing in front of him out of reach.

It hit the ground first. Quinn needed a nice Rawlings.... & Ozzie Smith's hands to scoop that one.

No, it hit his hands but it looked like he started dropping back as it was coming at him and he ended up having to reach for it and couldn't gain posession.

Not his fault by any means.

Yes, it hit his hands, after it hit the ground..... it was like a bounce pass in basketball.

I'd be calling for his head too if we didn't have huge problems on the offense, like where is our run game, 2.6 yards a carry and 4+ sacks given up a game doesn't help anyone. The line's left 3 guys on the line are fine (mack will improve) but the right side is horrible.

This really bothers me, not playing basic football. Denver - a supposedly "bad" team - found a way for their O-line to beat the "pretty-decent-Browns-D-line" to a pulp. They have/had TWO RB's today, where we had NONE because we have no O-line. And to offset that deficiency, our OC cannot call a game to save any face, and if he does get lucky, the players we do have cannot execute it,...

Running with 8 or more in the box is hard unless your AP or jim brown.
