I would agree with that. But, I also know that we are not going to compete this year. Quinn now has 5 career NFL starts. We've seen what Anderson can do over 27 starts, and it's not the QB we want. Give Quinn the season, in a year we aren't going to compete. And he'll prove one of two things..

Either we have a franchise QB, or we need to take a QB with our top 5 pick. Either way, I'd like to know for sure when we go into the offseason.

How often did K2 actually line up at the TE spot?

Do you watch the games?

No, we do NOT need to take one with a Top 5 pick.... If the QB's that we have aren't the answer for us, then I'd like to see us jettison all that we have and go with a veteran and instead fix the rest of the team before we roll the dice on yet another drafted QB.

oh, hell... who cares?

Browns is the Browns

... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

You said "If you have to list a TE as a threat, it shows how bad your QB is".

All those guys are threats, period. So your argument is very flawed.

Servicable vet QB's are hard to find. Just look who was out there this past season...

Charlie Batch, Kyle Boller, John Beck, David Carr, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Charlie Frye, Jeff Garcia (been there done that), Rex Grossman, Joey Harrington, Damon Huard, Byron Leftwich, JP Losman, Luke McCown, JT O'Sullivan, Dan Olovsky, Patrick Ramsey, Chris Simms, and Brian St. Pierre.

no, you misunderstood and reduced my argument to a blanket statement.

i said if you need to cite the te as a threat, it says something about the qb. a qb doesn't "rely" on his tight end to the point where, if one is shipped, that excuses the poor performance of the qb. i went on to say that DA never relied on winslow, unlike quinn who threw 10 completions to winslow in 08 and threw 13 targets to royal and heiden in week 1. i then went on to say that the te is not the first option in a passing play. while all the tes you listed are great players, they benefit from having a qb who can throw to their #1 target, the wrs i listed, who are often double teamed. if those receivers aren't double teamed, like edwards no longer is, that extra coverage can go somewhere else, like the tes, or in our case, anywhere else because our te's are not receiving threats.

i'm not playing your game because i know how vocal you have been on your views of quinn and DA. you're trying to excuse quinn's performance and i won't have that just like you wouldn't excuse DA's.

My point is this. When BE is double covered, who do you want BQ to go to? Cribbs? MoMass? Furrey? Royal? Pick one, they all suck.

In 07', when BE was double covered, DA could have gone to K2 or JJ.

How about those QB's are good because when their #1 is double covered, they have another threat to go to. We don't. It's BE or nothing for us right now.

And even if we go to BE, who knows if he'll catch it.

I'm not trying to excuse anything. Quinn is just as pathetic as the rest of this god awful team. You just seem to think DA would have so much better results, but have no real evidence to back it up.

The whole team is a joke.

when? don't you mean "if"?? because the quinn/edwards tandem showed no reason for any double team other than yesterday's game.

regardless of who the receivers are, if they get open and quinn doesn't throw them the ball, that's still on quinn. if he throws them the ball and they drop it, if he's DA, then he gets crucified. good thing he's not.

ok, i can use the same argument you used to use as to why quinn needed to play: DA can't do worse. he can actually throw TDs and he made edwards play at a pro bowl level. that is significantly better than what quinn can do rigth now for us.

the team was a joke in 08, when you thought quinn could save it.
