The NFL has issued a total of $125,000 in fines against the New York Jets and former coach Eric Mangini for the team's failure to list quarterback Brett Favre's arm problem on injury reports last season.

NFL executive vice president of football operations Ray Anderson levied fines of $75,000 against the team; $25,000 against general manager Mike Tannenbaum; and $25,000 against Mangini, now the coach of the Cleveland Browns.

Mangini coached the Jets during Favre's one season in New York before he was fired after the team collapsed down the stretch.

Last week, Tannenbaum admitted the club should have listed Favre, who had a torn biceps tendon, as "probable" on the injury report for the last four or five games. Favre said the Jets knew of the injury, which required offseason surgery.

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

Okay...I'm sure Favre would have willingly sat himself on the bench no matter how they listed him.

This Favre saga grows more n more tiresome!

Seriously… that man is just so indecisive, he doesn’t even know when to open his mouth. From his personality it dose not feel like he will do it for spite on jets or mangini. But still blurred it out of his mouth on wrong time.

People better enjoy him when he's on their team, because he sure as hell is going to stab you in the back when he leaves.

He reminds me of quite a few ex-girlfriends I've had in that respect.

Why doesn't Favre get fined for not telling about it? He probably knew as much as anyone, right?

I say fine him $200,000 for knowing and not telling.

Don't you know? Whistle-blowers are rewarded in today's world.

This just goes to show what kind of douche Favre really is (as if we needed more reasons).

What was Farve's motivation to bring this up now, other than to just get someone in trouble?

I swear, he's such a drama queen.

How can anyone stick up for him any more? He has tarnished his legacy too, with his actions the past 5 years or so.

Because he had to let everyone know that the Jets collapse wasnt his fault. He didnt want to ... off the Jets before they did him a favor and released him so that he could have a possible comeback.

Why all the hate for Farve? The responsibility to comply with the rules is on the Jets and they got caught cheating. Didn't our current football savior rat out Belichick. Seems to me those two are a match.

Personally. I'm just sick of hearing about him. His wishy-washy BS after every season. Now this crap. Enough already. I can't even watch SportsCenter to get scores anymore without having to sit through some crap that Farve had done.

Bingo!!

Favre may not be totally innocent but what it boils down to is that the Jets screwed up. Really, Favre just brought this to the forefront again by answering some questions about this in a presser. Anyone with even an ounce of deductive reasoning ability knew the Jets had cheated as soon as it was revealed Favre had a bum arm for the last 6 games. And this was revealed last winter, for cryin' out loud. And don't think Belichick isn't chuckling to himself every time he thinks about this.

Word is that he chuckled once. It involved an incident where a Boy Scout mistakenly led a little old lady into the path of a speeding garbage truck. Anonymous sources with ties to the league can verify this.

Depends on who you tattle on...Mangini has been treated like CRUD since he gave Belicheck up. Media is selective in their rewards I guess.
