Honestly I think it's time to start DA. He isn't perfect but he can stretch the field vertically. That ability means that the defense will have to respect it and may allow our offensive to open up more.

Quinn is a dink and dunk QB. For whatever reason he doesn't want to go deep. So to stop the Browns offensive all you gotta do is put 8-9 in the box and watch Quinn throw it for a 2 yard gain on 3rd and 9. I will take Jekyll and Hide over someone who is so one dimensional it has completed stalled our offense.

For me DA gives the Browns a chance to win..I could care less about the other things.

DA had his chances and failed to do anything.

Quinn is getting his chances and is failing to do anything.

At this point, it doesn't matter, they both aren't an NFL QB.

I think one of the biggest problems on this team is lack of continuity. We are constantly changing things. I fear that pulling the trigger on yanking BQ right now would be that same thing.

But I will admit that I don't think I'd be *too* upset if we heard that DA was going to be our starter against Baltimore.

Hmmmm.. guess a pro bowl appearance means nothing. LMFAO.

Give DA an Edwards that can catch, and you'll see those numbers once again. The ONLY reason DA was pulled last year was b/c his #1 was #1 at dropping balls.

Don't get me wrong, I think DA could continue to develop. However I do think they need to stick with Quinn because he won the competition. Let him get some more experience, and hopefully learn.

Teams stack the line against Quinn daring him to throw the long ball. Teams will drop back against DA and dare him to throw short. I don't think he can do it.

At this point, which is the lesser of two evils? Maybe Ratliff?

No, it is not.

You can't just yank em so quickly. By Game 8, however, there will be enough to see whether or not there is any hope.... and if not, then we yank him. Or, maybe don't yank him... because it is quite likely that we will be completely out of it at that point, so ya gotta think "Why bother?".

But there is on gigantic difference between Quinn and DA. DA stretches the defense. Quinn doesn't. With all other things equal DA still puts our offense in a better position because of his rocket arm and him not being gun-shy.

As a notre dame fan and quinn fan, its time to start DA. Quinn should have been able to show us SOMETHING by now.

It doesn't.

First, if you really thought he was a top 3 QB in the AFC, you're crazy.

Second, how many QB's got hurt for him to get there.

And of course, my favorite, he did nothing outside of a few games.

I surely hope I don't have to break out the Jeff George vs Derek Anderson stats again.

Derek Anderson started 27 games has been incredibly average. WE HAVE NO FRANCHISE QB ON THIS TEAM! Hell, we don't even have an average NFL QB on the team.

I'm not going to dive into this thread, as I've already said my peace, but what I WILL say is that Anderson showed a TON during the '07 season. No, he didn't "earn" a pro-bowl bid, therefore wasn't a pro-bowl QB. However, throwing for 3700+ yards with 29 TD's and and 19 INT's with an 83 rating with zero previous playing time IS doing something.

Frankly, we as fans would feel blessed to imagine Quinn doing that, and none of us truly believe he will right now.

And then following that up with 9 games of being the worst Starting QB in the NFL in 2008?

I guess I don't really see this team being better with one QB or the other.

It's not as much about Stats as it is about how teams can gameplan against our offense. With DA they drop back and we can run. With Quinn they load the box and Quinn is unwilling or unable to throw it deep which would loosen up the coverage. DA gives our offense more options.

We won games that year, right? we also had NO D that year. DA isn't the greatest, but you can't just waive your hand over the whole year. shoot, 10-6 would look dang nice this year.

Not yet time for DA. Quinn deserves a couple more weeks at least.

I am not a Brady homer and you guys will think I'm crazy, but I thought BQ was slightly better today than last week. I saw improvement and yes, I stayed sober for this game.

You can't tell me guys are getting open... when BQ throws a ball down the field there's not a lot of separation between the WR and defender. There's a reason he's holding theball too long.... and it ain't hesitation. I firmly believe that CRibbs, Royal and Furrey (where has HE been?) can't do jack...
I think our receiving corps absolutely blows - outside of Braylon.

DA gives us more options, I do not disagree. But I do not believe it's enough to show noted improvement.

I don't think it matters WHO is QB, because both of them suck.

Quinn was atrocious today . I went into todays game with an open mind but Quinn was bad . Can the Josh Cribbs at WR experiment please be over ? His game is special teams and it looks as if that appears to be the extent of his game .

He had his chance and didn't do much else after that year.

Quinn is a first round pick---the most pro ready prospect to come out of the draft in years---he studied under an offensive genius in Charlie Weis---and he is definitely ready to take over the reins from Anderson.

"Brady, Brady, Brady"

People were chanting this in mid-2007. And all through 2008.

Maybe Mangeius knew this all would happen so he started BQ just so he would stink bad enough to finally get the fans off DA's back.

I don't think you can yank Quinn yet. Give him untuil game 6. The season is over and wash anyway. I don't think you want to throw Anderson back in there with Baltimore coming up. Next week is gonna be a blood bath. At least give him until the bye.

Also, DA isn't the fleetest of foot. Imagine him dropping back while Dumervil is coming charging around our sad RT.

I fear that it's not going to matter if it's BQ or DA. By the bye week, we might be back to Dorsey and Gradkowski.

Yes it is time to pull Quinn....Quinn never should have been put in there to begin with and never proved or even earned the right to start....I still say Lerner forced Mangini into going with Quinn because Lerner was in love with the kid.

I knew Quinn would play bad against Denver, but not THIS bad.....The guy isn't even a backup NFL QB

As for Anderson, The kid was coming off a concussion in the beginning of 2008 for God sake

Let me throw one of you guys out there to play football after just recovering from a concussion with a Edwards missing ALL of camp and preseason with injury, and our OL and DL all banged up to start the year

Anderson shows tons of promise with almost no expereince at all

Bill Cowher has stated publically that Anderson IS A BONE FIDE NFL STARTING QUALITY QB

period! He said it on national TV in 2008....I think Cowher knwos what he is talking about

It is time to Get Quinn out of there....the kid just don't have it, atleast not yet....the kid is awful....he isn't ready for the NFL yet, and he may never be

There is a reason Romeo and Rip Schurer hid him on the bench, Rip(one of the most respected qb coaches in the nfl) stated publically that DA was the better of the two QB

Romeo never played Quinn because he KNEW Quinn was what you see today...he knew Anderson gave him the best chance to keep his job....

Its not too early to yank Quinn....give me a break

How long would:

mike Tomlin
Bill Bellichik
Bill Parcells
etc

put up with this?

Bill Parcells would have yanked him at half time of the Vikings game you best believe it!

Its time for anderson...Anderson "Will not" play half as badly as Quinn has on his worst day...Atleast Da gets hot and looks like a pro bowler for a streak of a few games....

oh and sinclair sucks, send him out of here with a bag of planters peanuts and tell him NEVER come back

I guess I don't really see the problem with that, considering the most we win with DA is probably 5.

Whatever gives us the best draft pick to get Sam Bradford.

Quinn should start the 6-8 games, at a minimum.

This is obviously not going to be a great year in Cleveland. Quinn needs the time to see if he can develop and improve his deficiencies. If not .... then by all means pull him before he hits the escalators ..... but we should let him play if only to make sure that he isn't as bad as he's looked these 1st 2 weeks.

I think that Anderson gives the team a much better chance to win .... but the choice was made to go with Quinn ... so go with him until he can't go any further. If this were a complete team with the only iffy piece being the QB I'd pull Quinn today. That's not the case though ..... so Quinn gets some additional time.

I hope that Quinn does better soon though. He's making me look back fondly to the Charlie Frye era .....

I saw Mass streaking for a TD but Quinn couldn't get the ball there.

Furthermore, we won't know how good the receivers are unless

A) Daboll calls for Quinn to get the ball to them, or
B) Quinn actually grows a set and tries to go downfield instead of checking down.

Oh yeah, I forgot
C) Get Cribbs the Hell off the field

I can't place too much on Mangini though. Rob Ryan definitely is NOT his brother and Daboll is obviously a rookie OC. Those two choices are Mangini's biggest flaw so far. His draft class is yet to be determined. You can only deal with what you've got from the previous administration a your draft. The FA choices out there this past offseason were not long term fixes for this team.

I will not give Brady Quinn years to prove his worth, but I can give a head coach.

Throwing the flag on that one.

We are doing anything BUT playing "bend but don't break." We're actually dialing up blitz after blitz, then dropping 9 to try and confuse the QB's. What we AREN'T doing is getting to the QB, or blanketing receivers.

We're breaking, but it's not because we're not blitzing or throwing the kitchen sink at QB's. We simply don't have very good players. (Sooner or later the Homers will realize it).

We've blitzed a lot more. But it seems to have the same effect a lot of times. We send 7 and they're somehow blocked by 5, or 6. We have guys blitzing right into the OL or right into the back of the DL. That's just plain sad.

I agree with this. I like Rex Ryan I just don't think he has the horses. However we are getting to the QB. Look no further than our sack totals/knockdowns in 2 games vs 16 from last year.

Exactly, we blitzed a lot. Ryan is actually calling a good game, he doesn't have the players.

I am a BQ homer. I'd like to see him get 4-6 more games... BUT I wouldn't cry if they made the switch.

I seriously doubt DA would do any better without a RT on the line. We need a RT ASAP! Then whoever the QB is might have a chance.

While your at it put Hank back in at center too.
