Gotta have your best Tackle on the left to protect the QB's blind side. Steiny could play RT just fine, anymore most DE are under 270 and we play alot of 3-4 teams who's OLB's are between 245 and 260. Hes got the athletic ability and the size to run block those DE's and OLB's.
You dont need a 320lb tackle in the NFL anymore, DE's with exception of a few are alot smaller, its all about speed and quickness now.
I think Steiney would actually be better at RT than guard because his size and athletic ability is better suited for that position.

i agree about protecting that blindside, but 3-4 DE's are bigger than 4-3 DE's and the RT is more often the one that has to block the 3-4 DE (OLB rush more often happens to the blindside of the QB for the specific reason that he can't see it coming and they are faster).
either way, I do not support weakening the middle of our OL when we have Ngata and Hampton on our schedule.

Your right, at this point we are gonna rob Peter to pay Paul, we have no depth, no options really, its jut a matter of where we want the suckiness to be at.
I dunno if a Thomas/Mack/Fraley/Hagnot/Steiny OL is better or not, its seems so on paper, but yes our guards may not hold up.

thats the first shuffle i would make. then we have bookends at tackle spots.
I know our OLine is BAD,....but you just moved four dudes from their current assignments,...hell maybe it'd work !! Nothing else has.

I think this should be the teams motto going foward. Have a banner put up in the locker room, EM can stress this to his coaches everyday.
