Well since its fairly apparent we are going to be drafting very high and we need a QB how would you rank them? Would you draft #1 overall?

i agree clausen should be high, but I don't think he'll come out with bradford and mccoy.

Is Pike a Senior? Man I thought he was a junior...Do we really need another Norte Dame QB? All though Jake Locker is an interesting pick.
We may be in luck tho cause it looks like the 2010 draft could be the year of the QB.

Have you watched him play? He has a much stronger arm and is far and away the best QB in the country.
And Colt McCoy isn't going to be a high draft pick. He may go late first like Jason Campbell did, but he isn't an elite prospect.

Yes, he is. I'm not going to prejudice against Clausen because he plays at ND. He is looking like a real player, and is dominating in an NFL offense.
Him and Quinn appear to have similarities, but Clausen has a better arm, and seems to be more willing to take chances. He has that soldier mentality, evidenced by him coming off the bench, with one foot, and dominating late in the game last night.
I hate ND as much as anyone, and see the failed Quinn pick, but he looks to be the real deal.

of that list, I really like Locker a lot. I think Locker has more than just the physical skills to make it in the NFL.

Where do people expect Tebow to go? Any chance of him still being there at the top of the second round? If so I would go stud RT first and then get Tebow.

As a quarterback, I see no chance of him going that high. But if he shows a willingness to be an h-back, he could go that high.
He doesn't have the skills required for a quarterback. He has an awful release, and he has no experience making reads or dropping back. He just isn't a quarterback.

I'm sorry but Bradford does not have a "very strong arm". He has great accuracy, but arm strength is his main weakness.

McCoy and Bradford to me are similar Qbs. Both are extremely accurate but their arm strength is questionable. That is why i think Pike can gain a lot of ground as he has a stronger arm.

Is Jimmy Clausen entering the draft? If he does I think he'll be a nice pick up. Even though I'll rather him stick with the Irish for another year.

Ya know what i do NOW---- I sign Booty off of the vikes practice squad. He might not have all of the physical traits one looks for, but he has the USC pedigree and was advertised to be game ready coming out. He is buried on the vikes squad. Lets see what he has, maybe we don't need to draft one. It would be a cheap addition.

While I agree a QB is/has become a need for us, I would rather we shore up the right side of the line first. Get a RT, if he moves inside as a rook to play RG then fine, he can learn and move outside the following year. We need a RG and RT first or no matter who is back at QB they are not going to develop any type of timing/consistency with the offense.
From that list however  I like Pike and Locker.
Still early to really know our needs, or see if a light goes on for the QB's, but I have been watching Trent Williams (Oklahoma), Russel Okung(Oklahoma State), Selvish Capers (West Virginia), and Cirus Black (LSU). Each would be immense upgrades over our current players on the right side. (Note: I like Fraley, and perhaps its not all him, but he is much better at C than RG. Having said that he is better than anything else we have.)
Statistics are like a bikini; what they show is interesting, but what they hide is vital.
Drive for show (1st round), Putt for dough (rest of draft).

I really like Ciron Black from LSU as the RT of the future, but I don't know how the Browns could get him. Top 5 is too high to take him, and I don't think he'll make it to round 2. Maybe he will though. A lot of time between now and the draft - too bad it's all there is to look forward to.

Uh, we've been pretty close already (Faine, Thomas, Mack) ...
The thing about OL is outside of LT and MAYBE center, you can get very good linemen in Rounds 2 and 3. I wouldn't burn a first rounder on an RT when you can get one just as good a round later.

If Mangini decides he needs a new face at QB for this team then I think we might go with Bradford and bring in the most accurate passer in college football (as long as his shoulder clears)
Eric Berry though is my favorite player in this years draft. I have been man crushing on this guy for years. Too bad we are so bad that we will have to draft a QB.

I'm going out on a limb here and say you use this upcoming draft to shore up other positions, maybe look for that stud OLB or Safety in round 1.. then look for that right side of the OL guy in round 2 or potentially a RB... use whatever you can at QB...
Then the following year you go after the QB.. I really like Jacory Harris out of Miami and he might be coming out.

My mock may seem a little "out there" but I hope at least the top 3 rounds look like this:
1. Eric Berry - Easily best player in next years draft
2. Joe Mcknight - I'll catch some heat for this but the kid is very fast and isn't afraid to pound the ball inside
3. Sam Young - Time to fix the cluster mess known as the RT position
4. Some QB - If we don't sign a vet QB then we MUST draft one here
5. Maybe TE
6-7 Defense

Pike, Bradford, Tebow, McCoy, Snead, Z. Robinson, and then the guys from BYU and I think two of the directional colleges in Michigan.
I don't think Clauson will come out. But maybe so throw him in there too..
We could do Eric Berry and then end up with Snead, McCoy, or another in the 2nd.
Think about it.... who would spend a their 1st round pick on a QB?
WAS, STL, MIN? I mean I didn't give it much thought, so there might be more.
I think we could always get a RT in the FA or 3rd round.

Colt McCoy is a Brady Quinn clone, IMO.
I forget, is Ryan Mallet going to be draft eligible? Really like Mallet.
Also, if I were going to do a non-QB mock, the list begins and ends with Eric Berry. That guy is a monster.
