So how long until we see the Cowher Power signs floating around the stadium this season?

I did it last year and if this season keeps going down the tank I just might do it again.

How long? About long enough for the mindless to find their cardboard and crayons... same as last year.

Let's see...I'm Bill Cowher. I can have any football job I want. I can command any salary and any terms I desire.

I see the Cleveland Browns. Yep, that's the position I'll take. The worst team in Pro Football. Good opportunity.

Hold up your signs. Cowher is never, never, never coming to coach the Browns.

Cowher came, he saw, he said thanks, he said no thanks, and he left.

And that was the end of that.

***Gordon, I really didn't think you could be this stOOpid, but you exceeded my expectations. Wussy.

Sadly I agree. Cowher wants no part of this mangina farce. I fear we are on track to set a long standing record for ineptness. I think Cowher could change that future but I can't think of one reason why he would.

Well, it didn't take long for you to post a thread about it, so I'm sure when I go up there Sunday some idiot is going to have a sign.

WE ALREADY WENT THAT ROUTE.

If he wanted the job, he would have taken it. That's as far as this discussion needs to go.

and on the other hand, maybe he wasn't ready to come back yet. Otherwise there were several better opportunities available.

Then there's the fantasy that he just wanted at least one more failed experiment here, so that if he came here, people would understand it will take more than 1 year to turn it around.

As of right now, we are 3 weeks into the Mangini era and people have been calling him a lame duck since preseason.

If we go into the bye week winless, Mangini will be gone and Rob Ryan will be the lame duck head coach. Obviously, it would be nice to have Cowher here next year, but I don't see it happening. - Shanahan would be my ideal choice.

- Either that, or Mangini stays and we hire an offensive guru for o-coordinator. - Gruden, Shanahan. - Far fetched, but it would be nice.

That last option would contain too many ego's.
Lot's of options though to replace Mangini:
Cowher
Shanahan
Gruden
Holmgren
Marty (though I really think he is done with coaching)
Ryan

i'm backing mangini. if anything, this is proving that we have a bunch of quitters on the team.

players don't like the coach? there are championship teams where coaches/players have hated each other. it happens.

but to watch these guys quit, it's sad. and mangini is just showing us.

How can anyone tell, from three games, that it's time to even discuss a new HC.. it's not like he was handed a winning team like Mike Tomlin was..

The man was handed a lemon..

tomlin was handed GREAT coordinators as well. the only thing from mangini i question is daboll. we couldn't have brought in a guy with some experience? it's always like that with offense, we bring in a new guy, and it's always the same garbage on offense. no points. yeah, chud had that one year, but even then the playcalling was suspect. at best.

I seriously think that Cowher is chilling in Carolina, enjoying his family and TV gig and WILL return to football as the Panthers' coach the second he says he is ready. And w/ the Panthers' start this season, I think it will be sooner than later.

And expect Snyder to offer him a multi-BAZILLION dollar contract to come to Washington, too.

And for all of you saying stuff like "why would he come here?" I think you don't realize how much these guys, like Cowher, recognize the history of this team and passion of the fans. It would be an honor to many to take up the big challenge of bringing this team back to what it once was and making the fans proud again. OK, make that an ENORMOUS, GIGANTIC challenge . . .

Lastly, I must admit, I want Mangini to get 2 seasons here. Things seem to be spiralling out of control, but blowing it all up again after his first season, if not during the middle of it, seems like an even bigger, more damaging blow to the whole situation.

No coach in their right mind is gonna come work under Lerner, its suicide. Only second rate guys like EM are gonna accept offers, get a real person to run this team, then we can talk about coaches.

Or would the coach know that, once hired, he could do whatever the heck he wants w/ Lerner not butting in?
