Refs.. I see you are allowing Start Derek Anderson Threads... Quinn Threads... even a Start Jason Campbell thread (who we dont even have), etc...

So please keep this one going...

I say trade Braylon right now before week 6 comes so we can get something for him... otherwise he is going to leave and we get NOTHING in return...

The guy is decent.. but is turning into that guy who COULD have been great.. but just wasn't...

Stock up some draft picks.. Build this defense... Build the running game..

WR's can be taken out of the game too easily...

I was all for trading him in the offseason. We aren't gonna get a thing for him if we dont trade him. He isn't going to sign here. I'd rather have someone out there who would put forth some effort...JMHO

Braylon can't leave the Browns without us getting some form of compensation for him, so this thread is pointless.

BOTH.. I repeat.. BOTH QB's will have more confidence running with MoMass, Cribbs, Robo, and bringing back in Leggett, and some other guys than this guy Braylon...

I can 100% see Braylon leaving the Browns and going to the NFC East as a Cowboy or Giant in 2010... I'm almost willing to put money on that...

What do you honestly think we could get for him at this point, and what's the absolute least we should take?

maybe try and trade him for a 4th round pick and a guard/tackle...

I don't know.. I just know we need to boot him from Cleveland...

U don't need to repeat anything because it still is sooo unreasonable..have you just reached a point of desperation??

You have one experienced # 1 guy right now and it's Edwards...the rookies aren't even getting solid pt..and a ST player posing as a wideout..
What will improve the offense is getting Mass in opposite of Edwards and get a better recieveing TE than Royal who cannot run those seams downfield.
And no team is going to give us anything for Edwards at this point..
man I'm glad some of U guys aren't GM's..total disaster..

Here's a thought: Without a new CBA, Braylon is an RFA this offseason.

I do believe your argument just died.

If you were the GM, you'd draft the entire UGA team.

I'm all for you being the GM. That level of ineptitude might just be enough to get Lerner to sell the team to someone with a clue.

Seems like an angry young man needs to do his job and we feed him more to demand production or we just bench his loafing trailer. I saw him make no play on his ball three times Sunday, no fight for position, no screening off to draw a flag. I say if we tried to trade him, somebody would be nuts for this package. A right tackle straight up or a cornerback (nice to have one who covers and tackles — I know that is asking a lot) would be swell, but we would have less to work with. He has been a bust IMO. Want him to play up, but he loafs and mopes, offsides, mentally just not in it. I prescribe some Vitamin P and Vitamin S till he gets his nose back in the business. S is to sit and P is on the Pine. But I am just angry with his haf-ankled approach to about everything Browns. We could do better with a number of folks. Break out the rooks and see if they fire us up.

Has he REALLY shown a big showing of poor effort this season so far?

There are MANY people I'd point fingers at before I got to Braylon.

the kiwi trade last spring was the most mouth watering rumor i heard. i think if he got traded for a 4th or whatever in the middle of the season it would just be one more reason to throw up.

Insanity of the highest order

Seriously, we still have the franchise tag to put on him...If we don't want him to, he ain't going anywhere...

no way....franchise tag puts him as a top5 WR in $$$....too much cash for him....

however, as Deep mentioned, he's only a RFA (as odds of new CBA are miniscule), so no worries at all from us.

Mangini should tell him if he wants off the team, to go out there and have a huge year so someone will give us a 1st for him....otherwise, he's stuck here for his career....i'd bet that'd light a fire under his arse.

to be fair, this is the first time edwards has ever dealt with being the only weapon. before, he had k2 drawing some coverage and he had JJ who needed to be accounted for on 3rd downs.

does that excuse edwards' play? no, but i can't evaluate it because he never got any targets, the camera wouldn't show him on the screen as we ran various runs and dump-offs.

i think the next couple weeks will be very telling. momass is getting more and more reps and i expect him to take the starting job from cribbs (come on man, you should love that. draw some glee from that ) and as we work heiden in more at te (royal is a bum), i think we'll see edwards making plays again. there's one other factor but there are 4 threads on that matter.

Just for the sake of argument, let's say there is a new CBA. We can either extend him (unlikely) or franchise and trade him. Regardless, it's not as if we're guaranteed to get nothing for him.

Some folks need to stop worrying about money.. It's not our greenbacks.. it's Lerners. And he's already demostrated that he's not afraid to spend the money.. Look at what Donte Stallworth got to keep.. So stop with the money stuff already

Besides, there is the other thing that nobody is talking about. At least I haven't read it.

While things are looking pretty bleek right now,, we are still only 3 games in and given we have a new HC, DC and OC, it's really not totally uncommon for there to be some glitches until things click... Especially if your team is lacking some talent as the Browns are.

We could still pull out an 8-8 sesson and I think most fans would consider that a pretty good first year for Mangini...

Trading away your one and only semi proven receiving threat, seems a lot like insanity to me...

I'm just saying...

I also doubt Sean Jones would magically be able to cover mediocre tight ends.

8-8 with what we have seen out of this group would make him coach of the year...... but nothing wrong with being optimistic.

As for Edwards, trading him now would be idiotic. The rookies aren't ready, his value is low.

I would have the best players on the field....

I would have snagged up Follett from the Lions over drafting Maiva and/or Veikune... just one example...

but I still think we should trade Edwards..

Who the hell is Follett?

Seriously, ego check. If you could be an NFL GM, you would be. Alas, Sean Jones is still a backup and you're still on this board playing pretend.

from what I've seen.. Elam is NOT better than Sean Jones...

and what do you mean who is Follett? that LB that played for the California? A lot of us on here pimped him...

I see you didn't comment on Elam being better than Jones...

The Eagles are a deep defensive team... there is a reason for everything according to deepthreat....

Then there is a reason we decided to trade for Elam than keep Sean Jones and a reason that Sean Jones is not starting in the NFL.

I'm not that big on Elam, but he's better than Sean "Toasty" Jones.

This poster questions me asking if Im a Browns fan and now he wants to trade the teams only playmaker. Id consider it if Winslow was on the team but without Edwards, teams could put 8-9 in the box and have man coverage on anybody else. Furrey couldnt stick in Detroit and the first WR taken in the last draft cant even make the gamedays active list and you want to trade the only playmaker this team has. To question me if Im and Browns fan because I want to talk about the other QB in the division outside of our own, then you start a thread like this is beyond me. I geuss thats why you shouldnt question anybody you dont know if your ignorant about what they want to talk about.

Braylon doesn't get that much double coverage.. and yes I want to trade him... I'm not the first person to suggest this... WR's are a dime a dozen.. Run your route, get separation, and catch the ball...

Speed, smarts, and hands are really the only thing that can separate the good from the bad...

How many of those do Braylon have?

Im not sure about his smarts but he does have size and speed. Not track speed but even though he cant outrun every DB in this league, if someone would just throw him the ball, he has the ability to jump over the defender to make the catch with good coverage.

I think he has some smarts. Ive seen him make some adjustments to make some nice plays. I think his problem is that he tries too hard to look pretty. Im not completely against trading him, just not right now.

He makes the harder catches and he can catch high and catch low. WRs like Burress wouldnt even attemp to catch the ball if it was thrown low. Outside of his drops, it does seem like hes due to make one boneheaded play/penalty a game.

He needs to try harder to get to the ball period..

Play dirty.. You see a INT coming.. pass interfere.. If I were a coach.. I would teach this..
