I do not know about you guys, but Harrison seems to (Once again) be explosive. WHO CARES about his ability to block, this guy has Speed, and is a HUGE threat out the back field! He needs to start the REST of this season. I feel he can become a great back with this team. He is SO much better then lewis, anyone can see that. Give him about 20-25 carries and watch how he exceeds 100 yards.

Damn, JUST GIVE THE MAN HIS CHANCE! JEEEEZ!

But he can't pass block

Althought seriously I agree he averaged 5 ypc against a damn good Ravens defense. Just give the kid a shot please!

I am a Harrison pimp... but with Davis in there.. Harrison doesn't need that many (20+) carries... I want fresh legs, and not only that, but two different running styles to tire out the opposing defense...

Which is exactly why we need to trade him while he still has value.

Why not use him like the Saints use Reggie? Reggie can't pass block either, but he sure seems to get a lot of yards from scrimmage (and scores some TDs as well).....

sure it's a better offense, but better to be a poor-man's Saints than whatever we are now

Harrison doesn't have near the hands, speed, or ability that Reggie does. He can be a playmaker if used sparingly, but he is what he is.

So lemme get this straight, Romeo.... hahaha.... he can make plays if used sparingly, but if used more than sparingly, he can't make plays?

No, but he isn't a good enough blocker to be in all the time, and he will get hurt. He has his place, and that is as a situational guy.

I agree...that's why he'd ba a poor-man's Reggie. Honestly, I don't care what we come up with as long as it involves helping fix the offense.

8-12 touches a game with JH would be fine.

Why will he get hurt? He's a lot bigger than Sproles, he's about the same size as Willie Parker, Chris Johnson, Maurice Jones-Drew... These guys get 20+ touches a game...

I get it. More times he's out there, odds get greater that the little fella will get flattened trying to block a behometh.
Was Barry Sanders a good blocker, BTW?

You tell me. He's been hurt every season of his career and sometimes in the offseason. I don't know how to explain it, but it's true.

that is the comment you agreed with.. in 2006 Harrison had 29 touches.. in 2007, 25.. in 2008, 46.. you say he has been hurt every year so.... if he can't handle that workload, how is he going to be fine with 128-192 touches a year?

Regardless of the number of carries or how "big" he is...he should be OUR feature back right now...today....now

If he gets 12 carries and JL & JD split the rest, then so be it.

He is the best back on this team right now...we need to see what he can do.

He proved that our current OL can help a RB run up the middle against a top 5 defense...we have no other back who showed us that this year.

j/c,...anybody got a take on how much of Harrison's 5.0 YPC average happened before or after Quinn was pulled,...?

I want(ed) to make a comment about how poorly the O-Line plays. Is somebody doing, or not doing their job, just because Anderson is out there ?

JeromeyCat is not an every down back, sure, but nobody cared about Winslow not being a blocker. He appears to be back on the upside of his injury recovery.

I just want to run the football.

And he did it against a team that had 17 guys in the box because they didn't fear the deep pass.

Man, I wish. We might have had a chance against them with all those five yard penalties.

Titans release running back Chris Henry
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on September 29, 2009 5:49 PM ET
Titans running back Chris Henry surprisingly made the team's roster out of training camp, but he won't make it to the end of the year.

The Titans released the second-round pick from 2007 Tuesday, as part of some roster shuffling following the team's 0-3 start. Henry was cut and punter Craig Hentrich was placed on season ending injured reserve, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

To fill the roster spots, the Titans signed safety Kevin Kaesviharn and Mark Jones, who should immediately become Tennessee's primary return man.

Henry will go down as one of the ultimate workout warriors of the decade, skyrocketing up Tennessee's draft board after a huge Combine workout.

He only earned 32 carries in three seasons, rushing for 122 yards and two scores.

This statement is not true. He was hurt last year and this year, the previous years he was inactive for games not because of injury.

Again, another person calling him injury prone when it is not true. Last year he missed a game because of being hit into the bench, and for taking a helmet in the ribs(back). This year he hurt his knee in the first preseason game. That is it for his injuries. If you research it, his inactives were not because of injury.

Also, did anyone notice his blitz pick-ups against Balt? I did and he did a good job. He also was statistically almost even with Bush in college, and he was an everydown back.
Again, against Baltimore, who's run defense is pretty good, he proved he could run between the tackles and has strength for his size. He is quick, has decent hands, and is plenty fast.
Right now he is playing better than any back we have.

I noticed he blew up a blitzer on one play. Really wasn't keying on him for that. I figured he'd either block or not but seeing as he was all we had going into that game we didn't have a choice.

But the play I saw he destroyed the defender.

dont try to bring facts into this. romeo said he couldn't block, and he has missed a game. total bust.

PICK THIS GUY UP NOW!

I have been waiting to see what Tenn was going to do with this guy. I liked him when they drafted him and thought he was gonna be a good back for them but he never really got an opportunity.

eryze19akaBT58,

Sure did, he had some nice pickups that saved Quinns Arse big time!

After gaining good yardage in the first half Mangini opened with Davis who got next to nothing.

Maybe he's improved because he sure didn't block so well before. Maybe he's one of those guys who when told he lacks in an area he busts his ass and improves. RAC liked Harrison and said that was the only reason he wasn't getting more carries.

I just think that this guy has TONS of potential. He's big, he's fast, he's strong and doesn't have alot of miles on his tires.

I would like for us to bring in him in and work him out while Lewis is still here. Lewis is a guy that has doen alot of things in his career and I think he could teach this kid alot of things. While he may not ever be a star, I think he could serve us well in short yardage and goal line situations. And if he did end up becomign something special then all the better.

I don't see us bringing him in unless we can get him on our practice squad and see what he's got next year because there's no way we carry 4 rb's throughout the season. And I wouldn't wanna let go any of our current backs to bring him up. But it is a nice thought to have this guy.

I haven't checked but I'd be surprised if Henry was PS-eligible.
