Listening to Mike and Mike the other day I heard the commissioner of the new UFL, and it got me thinking.

With all the QB talk, there will be 8 more options after Thanksgiving that we could give a no risk opportunity. JP Losman, Tim Rattay, and a QB from Pitt (name escapes me) are players in the UFL.

Looking through the different team rosters, I found some interesting names, guys that I think can play in the NFL, some former Browns, and some names that simply just caught my eye. Names like Odell Thurman, Kirk Heinrick, Derrick Frost, Tatum Bell, Simeon Rice, Dexter Jackson, Fred Matua, DeMario Minter, Chris Barclay... I could go on for a while listing names.

My question is, regardless of position, who is worth keeping an eye on?

Hold on, I'll post some mock drafts. . .

If you think its bad, just wait and see what happens when the Browns start gathering UFL talent.

Ha, very true. I guess really the only two names that I have seen that make me curious are JP Losman (of course not ideal, but ...) and Thurman. I think Thurman can still play, just not sure if he is past his demons.

it might be an upgrade.

i'm really wondering if the Browns could score a TD in the UFL this year.

I think you meant NY.

This is an interesting league. Former NFL coaches, former NFL players. I find it interesting that Losman and Rattay are on the same UFL team ... whoever that backup is ... that's not a good sign for resurrecting a NFL career.

I might try to catch one of LV's games. Not sure what the point of a 4 team league is though.

LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

Did you notice who owns the california team.... Paul Pelosi.. Husband of nancy Pelosi LOL

FLorida is owned by a corporation that seems to own the Tampa Bay Devil Rays..

Some decent Head coaches,.. Green, Fassel, Haslett and Cottrell.. Successful guys from the NFL..

Robert Griffith is a Defensive assistent for California and Carl Hairston is a DL coach for Florida.. Couple of ex browns..

Koren Robinson is playing for the NY Team along with Steve Sanders, Tatum Bell is with the Florida team and BJ Sams is with the California team,,

That's all in addition to those that are already mentioned.

I guess this could be a mildly interesting league to watch....

Peter Warrick is also playing for the California team.

Lance Leggett is on the New York team. And Wes Chandler is the offensive coordinator.

Michael Pittman and Super Bowl MVP is on the Florida team.

I noticed that as well, what I also noticed is that it seems, judging from the SHOP part of the site, that all four teams AND the UFL logo are all from the same color palette.

It is like they got a discount; you can only use teal, black, white, and bright green

Earth tones are illegal

Question, I think they refer to themselves as a developemental league. I could be wrong, I think thats what it said on there site. So are they attempting to become like a hockey farm league?

second question, lets say we wanted to give JP Loseman a shot, I assume he is under contract with his UFL Team and could not re enter the NFL until ater the UFL Season. Or are these guys able to move up to NFL if called by a team?

Warrick actually got cut. Suprising that a Super Bowl MVP is out of the NFL and playing in this league. Has alot of former plaers who were Pro Bowlers or played in the Super Bowl.

Names not mentioned
Cecil Sapp RB Broncos
Brooks Bollinger QB Wisconsin
Anthony Schlegel LB OSU
Darrion Scott DE OSU 3 year starter
Germain Wiggens TE
Claude Wroten DT some on here were pimping him for NT
Todd Saurbraun P
Quinn Gray QB Jaguars
Labranden Toefield RB LSU
BJ Sams WR return man Ravens
Mike McMahon QB Lions
Mike Mabry C Browns a few other teams
Abayndayo specail teams Ravens
Maurice Crum LB Notre Dame
DD Dorsey RB Bengals
Martin Bibla G Miami Hurricanes- never allowed a sack in college, thought Butch Davis would take him
Tab Perry WR Bengals
Tony Parrish DB Bears, 49ers,Cowboys led NFL with 9 ints. in 03
David Kirkus WR Lions, Broncos
Teddy Lehman LB Detroit Alot on here were pimping him
Sammy Parker WR Maybe the same guy from the Chargers

I can see some of these guys making a team by staying in shape and someone getting hurt in the NFL.

You must wait until the UFL season is over to sign a player, which is after Thanksgiving
