1 game already in the books - Boise State surviving against Tulsa. To be viewed as a serious contender, Boise was gonna have to not only win - but destroy - their schedule. I don't think that's right but it is what it is. Perhaps they needed that test and will roll from here.

Big game tonight as undefeated Cincy(8) travels to undefeated South Florida(21). The dream ends tonight for the Bearcats - I'm sure it was nice while it lasted.

Other big games around the country...
- Red River Shootout, Texas vs. Oklahoma
- Virginia Tech at Georgia Tech
- USC at Notre Dame
- Iowa at Wisconsin
- Arkansas at Florida
- South Carolina at Alabama
- Ohio State at Purdue
- Texas Tech at Nebraska

Also Hawaii at Idaho, Central Michigan at Western Michigan, Cal at UCLA, Marshall at WVU, Pitt at Rutgers and of course the NIU Huskies at my Toledo Rockets - get back at it Rockets, you've got to be better than last week.

Lets see what Clausen can do against USC.

Look to watch Suh terrorize Texas tech.

Do you watch the Rockets on a consistant basis? I want to get more opinions about Toledos safety Barry Church coming out this year. I think he could be a decent mid round selection, even if Berry or Mays is selected in the first round. I watched one game and Barry Church was ballhawking all over the field. I didnt notice him much in the game against OSU but he looked like a decent prospect and wanted to see what others had to say about him.

This is what I had posted near the end of The Week 6 Thread,...thanks for starting the new one, BTW

Let's talk Week Seven,...though I still stand firm, "despite poor scheduling," that all of these also rans have a shot at the NC Game only because of The System, I think Boise stubbed their toe last night, and it should reflect in the polls,...whether it will or not--I am not a pollster.

This weekend looks good,...got an elimination game tonight with Cincinnati playing South Florida, both 5-0.

USC and Notre Dame,...the loss there completely eliminates one of them.

Florida should not get tested by Arkansas. Alabama-South Carolina, I want to watch,....definite elimination for one or the other.

Texas-Oklahoma,..Sooners' last chance to redeem/compete for the Big 12's BCS slot,...Texas' possible elimination game.

VaTech-Georgia Tech,...don't know what to think there, except it is an elim game for the Hokies.

And Iowa (Wisconsin), TCU (Colorado State), and Kansas (Colorado) all have what appear to be winnable contests, but not "poll jumpers" for those 3 undefeateds,...

Did I miss anybody ?

any gamblers here?

i wanna know people's take on ND +10.

i bought into the irish hype early in the year and got burned 3 straight weeks... michigan, msu, and purdue, got burned every time.

the +10 seems tempting. 1. because notre dame is at home and they have a very good solid offense. 2. because i really don't think usc is that great, i think they are barely a top 10 team.

so many factors with this game. usc while not great, did go into columbus and beat a not great, but very solid osu team, while notre dame hasn't really played anybody.

i may watch for line movement and go against the public.... which will probably be on dame.

maybe i will play the total. haven't looked at it yet.

I am not a gambler, but I believe you answered your own question,...

Ranked 25, Notre Dame is probably not as close to any BCS game as USC is to The Title Game. I don't see USC "letting down."

The home field advantage is a concern,...but if ND spanked you in those 3 others like you said, and we expect more of the same, and it was MY money, I'm going USC to cover.

How much are we spending,...

Barry Church is the safety from Toledo I was talking about. If anyone gets a chance to watch a Toledo game check this guy out. I dont remember seeing much of him during the OSU game though. Even if the Browns select a Safety early, I would still like to see this guy picked up in the later rounds. Pool probabley wont be re-signed and the other safeties could still use some upgrading. Anyways here is his bio. i would also like to know if anyone else has paid attention to him or noticed his play.

It looks like the Browns might already be looking at Church from Toledo. The position needs upgraded bad. Especially with Pool becoming an UFA and I doubt he get re-signed with his concussion history. I like the guy but its a business and I dont see him coming back. Ive been looking back to find out more about barry Church and found this intersting tidbit...

SCOUTING TALENT: Scouts from seven NFL teams were in attendance at the Glass Bowl last night.

Representatives from the Cleveland Browns, Arizona Cardinals, Baltimore Ravens, San Francisco 49ers, Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers were on hand, likely evaluating Williams and safety Barry Church.

I always wonder how a kid from Pennsylvania (Penn Hills -- a great program ), 2d Team All State (AAAA), and played in the BIg 33 doesn't end up at Penn State,...not that it doesn't happen, but the actual "why." (Dad went to Toledo, sister is already a junior there, he liked the nickname Rockets,....) ??

i have an account with BetUS (if anyone wants an invite, let me know i can get a bonus if you sign up) i started with 200 and got a 200 freeplay, i'm close to 500 bucks now. had a big day with the nfl last sunday. i usually just do small plays, parlays and teasers. every once in a while i will lay a hundred bucks on a game.

i once was a member of sportsbetting.com, they have free contests. i actually won 1700 in a progressive jackpot that they had going for a contest where u answered questions about what would happen over the weekend in various sports. the 1700 had to be rolled a few times, i had it up to 5k. i was betting a dime on games. let me tell you, there is nothing like watching a game where u have a grand rolling on it. hilarious. i bet the steelers on opening night in 2006, and i never rooted harder for the black and gold. they covered that night. it was unreal. i eventually went from 5k to zero on a bunch of 3-5 hundred dollar plays. it was fun while it lasted.

now i just do small plays, 25 bucks on a game here, 30 bucks there.

leaning towards sc now after reading your guys' takes. no big play tho. probably 50 at the most. im looking forward to the game though.

i do really good on parlays. sportsbetting let you do 9-teamers at a 2.00 minimum. so i would play a bunch of those, i have actually hit 5 or 6 9 team parlays. no teasers. just straight spreads and various money lines.

i dont do those as much now because betus has 5 minimum on all bets.

I used to like putting money on games but then I realized it's a sucker bet...like playing blackjack or roulette. If you bet regular enough, "they" get more of your money than you get of theirs.

For example, Florida & LSU this past Saturday.....Florida giving 10 points. Tebow was recovering from a head injury, LSU was ranked 3 spots behind them, AND it's in LSU. It's a game that SCREAMS putting money on LSU. Sure enough, Florida by 10. Depending on where I bet, I would have probably lost my money. And I would rather buy things with my money.

Funny, I was in Vegas for four days this past week.....I went the whole time without betting a single penny (Sportsbook, slot machines, & table games).

i actually won money on that game... teased the total and lsu with the points and won.

a lot of people have systems and make quite a bit of money. there are people who play nothing but underdog money lines in baseball and make out like kings.

i just do it for fun. see how good i can get. and i love waking up on sundays, having my coffee and setting up different parlays and teasers that maybe i can cash in on.

speaking of that, did anyone see hammerin hank go 5 for 5 a few weeks ago against the number? wow..

i usually always consider his picks, he's not too bad at handicapping.

then there are instances where you can cash in on something bad.

i had 700 in my account when the tribe blew that 3-1 lead against boston going into game 7, i put every penny in that account on the sox in game 7 because i knew what was inevitable. i was basically telling God he wasn't going to have his cake and eat it too.

i try and stay away from playing my own teams. unless im ridiculously confident either way...

Well, I watch whenever they're on - try to listen on the net when possibble - and make it back to see a game here and there. Went to UT from 98-01 - been hooked since then.

Church is a very very good safety IMO who is, as you say, a ballhawk. Not necessarily INT wise ala Ed Reed - more a Polamalu type who always seems to be around the ball. And no, I'm not saying he's the next Polamalu - my homerism has it's limits lol. I seem to remember him being in on nearly every play in the OSU game - I think mostly because the UT d-line was in so over it's head against the OSU o-line. He's always been moved around the secondary/pass rushing in kind of a rover/star role. Truth be told, he's the best player on the field defensively for Toledo and plays like it - game in, game out.

He has a chance to be a 4 time All-MAC selection, I know it's not All-SEC or Big Ten - but still, he's been a steady force for all 4 years.

I'd have absolutely no problem picking him up anywhere in the middle rounds, but honestly, I wouldn't be taking him as "the guy" to step in here next summer and be the starter. I view him more as a one year down the line player once he hits the pro's.

As mentioned in the one blurb - Williams, the WR, is another guy to keep an eye on. Great size, great speed, great hands.

I feel the same way. I wouldnt want him to step in right away but as a replacement to Sorenson and be ready down the road. Even if the Browns took Berry, Id still take Church as a backup and would like to see them play together down the road.

It would give me a reason to tell people I watch Church on Sundays

What do you think of the heat on Stull down there by Pitt fans? I read the post-gazette nearly every day - even in the off-season - because I'm a Pirate fan and I know Smizik just loathes the people that boo him every week.

Ya he gets booed on every drive we don't score basically. A lot of it has to do with the hype around our future QB, Tino Sunseri, a redshirt freshman and a local boy. He's going to be a stud but he's not quite as polished as Stull is yet. As for Stull, he's looked great throwing 13 tds to only 3 picks. The problem is he gets rattled after a series of bad plays. A pick in the endzone and one for a pick 6 against Uconn rattled him, but he stuck it out and brought us back for the win. If only he would have done that against NC State, we'd be undefeated and a BCS champ. dark horse.

But overall I like Stull, and the w frosh runningbacks Lewis and Graham take a lot of pressure off of him losing Shady. And look for Jonathan Baldwin to become a stud college receiver soon with his 6'5 frame and good hands.

Anybody watching this Cincy vs South Florida game? Two prospects that I wouldnt mind seeing in a Browns uni in QB Pike for Cincy and DE/OLB pass rusher Selvie for South Florida.

For you draft niks this is a must see game a both players are not disappointing me tonight and I would love to see both in a Browns uni.

I also didnt know Ciny had a 3-4 defense. Pike can make all the throws and maybe coming from a college that runs a 3-4 he would be more aware of reading a 3-4 defense. I know he practices against whatever the upcoming opponent is running but he has to have some familiarity with it. I would love Pike to fall to the 3rd round and learn (Ok, I mean watch. DA dont seem like hes ready to help his replacement) behind DA for a year or 2.

I have to agree with 'Peen that these guys (them and Boise) may not be at the football talent levels that should/would put them in the Title Game, but there doesn't appear to be any reason they won't go 12-0. Boise has Idaho (lost to Washington),..., Cincinnati has Pitt (lost to NC State).

Gotta wait now for how they fare in the BCS standings,...

The Collaros kid really showed why you have to have a decent backup QB,....

I thought so. I posted how I liked his performance and someone comes on and said they watched the game and said "nothing earth shattering". I went back and watched it again and was equally impressed. There were 25 scouts at the game. Not sure if the Browns were there but that has to say something about this game. Selvie was on the other side of the ball. Considering Cincy only had 5 yards rushing at half time shows how much Pike had to put the game in his shoulders in USFs house. Throwing for almost 200 yards and 2 TD. I wish the people on here saw that play he had on 3rd and 15, out of his endzone, avouided an almost safety by Salvie, rolled to his left and threw a dart to the sidelines for a first down. They do show that play on Sports Center. He was getting rave reviews from the guys in the both, as was Selvie. Gruden had good things to say about both players.

Selvie looked good too. I think he will be better than Wimbley in the pros. Like i said, 25 scouts at this game so that should say something about these 2 players.

I just don't know that Selvie has the agility to play OLB in a 3-4. I'm not sure yet. A guy on USF that I like, but hasn't gotten much publicity, is Nate Allen. He's a 6'2" 206 safety with 4.5 speed. I have a feeling the scouts were watching him more than Selvie.

Gruden,... I still love the guy and think he's doing a great job in the booth, but he has become quite the schmoozer. He might as well get into politics; can't be any worse than what we've already got,....

My guess is Washington,...Redskins

I'll go back and watch for him. When Cincys backup QB came in the safeties looked cemented footed as the QB ran right by him. USFs safeties didnt do anything to slow Pike down. Ive been watching a few safeties this year that I wasnt even looking for that caught my eye. Like Church from Toledo. I didnt remember seeing him do anything last night and I watched it twice. But I didnt start watching until midway thru the second. I was already dvring Flash Forward.
