Might as well start it, & yes I am knee-jerking, but maybe for good reason. Should we start thinking about Brady again? I personally don't think we will next week, not yet.... but let's face it the offense still blows... and a fair bit of it is on DA, not all but man... Will BQ get another shot? If DA fails to move the ball next week vs. Packers, or commits more turnovers, IMO we might start BQ in the second half.
Another reason to go go back to Quinn would be be to give him one final chance, after his "decompression" as Toad put it.

If we really need to drive the nail in the debate once and for all, put him in.
God, we need to fast forward through this season.
you had a good run Hank.

I'm not here to pimp him at all. We just have alot invested to toss the kid after 3 games no matter how he looked.
It's obvious DA aint the answer, I wish it were otherwise, but don't we get laughed at enough than to jettison a guy we moved up to get on draft day in a highly talked about trade and before we can without a doubt say "he aint got it"? He didn't look good but the DA folks are using some of the same excuses in his behalf that BQ had endured (bad right side oline, drops) in his 3 game tenure.
Not a real Quinn fan, never was but we don't need one more boneheaded kneejerk reaction to make the organization look dumb. We're good enough at that!

Don't start him until next year so we can all see in two seasons with Derek Anderson that he will not return to the 2007 DA..

Well, he can't be any worse than what we've witnessed the last 2 weeks.
It's not a very strong argument for the guy at all, but that's about all you can say at this point.

I've been saying this for a while.......rotate them in and out of the game depending on how each are doing. At this point, it's not going to make us look any worse.

Brady does not want to play for this team, and he couldn't produce when he did want to, so I wholeheartedly doubt he's going to show anything at this point. He's damaged goods and should only be kept around in case something happens to DA.

Brady completed 39 passes those first two weeks
DA has completed 11 the last two weeks
You guys know more than I what Quinn looked like the first two weeks...but I would think at the very least....those extra completions would keep the Offense on the field a little longer...letting your defense rest.
I still stand by my off season comment of...trade DA for whatever you can get...let Quinn play without looking over his shoulder for the year....decide if Quinn can play...if not...draft a new QB next season.
I think you have two QB's both looking for the hook as much as they are looking for the open WR.

Amen to that. They both stink and are on a team that is NOT going to help them develop properly.
The QB that will take us somewhere, ANYWHERE, isn't on the team. He will not only need great physical skill, but an even greater mind to help this team climb out of the God awful pit of crap we're currently stuck in the bottom of.
And this would only happen if it turns out our current coaching staff of the future is on this team.

I think it would be a good idea to go back to Quinn next week, at home, vs Green Bay. Here's why, IMO.
Hopefully he'll have the home crowd behind him.
We didn't use the wildcat as much with Quinn as we are now. That could open it up for him.
Our OC has to figure out a way to put Quinn in a better position to succeed. Get the WR's moving across the field so he can hit them on the run. I don't see enough quick slants in our offense either. You don't have to wait until you get inside the 10 to use a slant. Quick slants open up the outside. It seems like the only routes our WR's run are comeback routes.
We have Green Bay, @ Chicago, then the bye week. That gives Quinn a couple games to get his feet wet again. Then you use the bye week to work on the mistakes. If Quinn still doesn't get it by the SD game. I don't know what.

Quinn has to put himself in a position to succeed, which he hasn't done through displaying his unwillingness to even attempt to stretch the field. Opposing defenses simply do not respect the deep pass from Brady Quinn. Nobody can do anything about that but him. He had his own coach telling him he needed to go downfield and he still wouldn't do it. The receivers are there, but he'd rather check down to Lewis or Royal for easy completions that go absolutely nowhere.

I seriously may have missed it but outside of an interception what exactly did the "Wildcat" do for us today?

That's where you're wrong Hack,..3 completed passes for 6 yards on a series still leaves you with a punt. DA is still thye best we have,......unfortunately.Remember,..one of BQ's games had Harrison as the leading receiver. I do like the idea from a previous poster that maybe we should just rotate both QB's in along with Cribbs running the wildcat,...it really copuldn't be any worse and maybe one will be able to prove they're the better QB.

It got us nearly all of our rushing yards. I liked our offensive gameplan today. We just couldn't execute it.

I say wait until he can't meet the escalator in his contract that way we at least save some money on this awful season. Personally, I've never thought DA was the answer and this season continues to show that. I don't think we've given BQ enough time to show what he's done yet. All you DA homers say we have but are willing to give DA more time to just show he sucks. Come on face the facts he's not good.

Gotta be honest. If I am quarterback and I see a revolving door for a right side of an offensive line, receivers who are dropping the ball left and right, and terrible play calling on top of that like we have now... I get the hell out of town any way possible.

Personally I would just play Cribbs full time at QB. Give him all the practice reps and he will get his college arm back quickly. He cannot possibly do worse than Anderson (last in the NFL in passer rating).

hisbutt.com........he pulls info out of there quite often...lol.
At this point I would wait until the bye week, and then sit the team downn and explain to them that there will be no more switching BQ is the guy for the rest of the year. My reasoning is that we need to make sure Quinn isn't it.........after 3 years we know that DA isn't it. I doubt (highly might I add) that Quinn is the answer, but you have to make sure that he isn't before we cut him lose, and get another one.

How about Ratliff?
Or bring in Bartell? Whom I think outplayed all our quarterbacks in the preseason.
Irregardless who, if the right side won't pass protect and we don't call plays to thwart the all out blitz and our receivers don't get open/catch what's the difference?

I never said he was. But Cribbs does make plays. We did get some positive yardage from the wildcat. The rest of the offense didn't step up. We can't just line up and do what the Dolphins do. So running the wildcat, 2, 3, times in a row is not a good situation for us. Cribbs threw a bad pass. But we still need to have that threat in the wildcat for it to be more successful for us.

I think Bartell was picked up by the Jags about 15 minutes after we cut him.

Quinn is averaging 8.88 yards a pass....45 completions 400 yards......so while he may be dinking and dunking...he has had to at least had a few go farther...even if it was RAC that the WR got....they all can't be 2 yards...or he would have 90 yards and not 400

I'm sorry.. But Quinn is a pretty prideful guy and if any reporter asked him that question.. He would not say yes b/c of politics of the locker room, but would definitely infer it..
If asked off the record.. he answers yes everytime..

Jeez you guys and the QB carousel. Seriously,we dont have an answer on offense, and switching QBs isn't going to do anything. QB isn't the only issue, how about the lack of protection on 3rd downs? The pittiful run game? Our wrs not being able to catch catchable balls? Crappy play calling and scheme?

I don't want Quinn to start at all this year...
Next year though.. We should be ready after our 15 draft picks that we will have...
I'm just praying that they draft 3/4 defense...

The pitiful run game,...I think I hate this more than anything. It is painful to watch JL try to be a running back.
I am not a BQ pimp, but I do not hide my despise for Anderson. That said, I think we would look even stupider to switch back to Quinn now. At least wait until Anderson has completely outmoded himself, and he will.

Why??? If Quinn isn't the answer (and I know hm being so is a long shot at this point) then we HAVE to get a new QB. Whether we choose to do that by FA or the draft is up for debate, but we must know whether Quinn can be our future, because it's obvious DA can't. As I said, I would wait for the bye week to give him some extra reps with the first team that week, but I've seen enough of DA to know he can't be a starter for any playoff type team. Is BQ that guy??? I doubt it, but I would like to know that for a fact before we cut him, and have to invest yet again in the QB position.
